We had our wedding at ironstone vineyards because we immediately fell in love with the grounds, it is breathtaking! But the staff are what really made our wedding magical. They go above and beyond and make you feel so comfortable and fully make your entire day so special! If there were any issues we had no idea, they took care of it all and everyone keeps telling us how magical and perfect our wedding day was. I would highly recommend holding your event there or at least spending a few hours enjoying food and wine and the beautiful grounds❤ -

The venue was beautiful and everyone was so helpful! The team did a great job decorating and coordinating our wedding this past November! Thank you much! It was amazing and so much fun! Will definitely recommend to others for any event! Totally worth the price, the venue was gorgeous! All of our guests complimented on how perfect the day was! -

Tiffany Sent on 10/08/2014My husband and I got married at Ironstone on Sept. 20, 2014. We loved everything from the property to the food to the staff. I got so many compliments on the venue and how everything turn out, I couldn't have imagined our wedding turning out anymore beautiful. I have to give a special review to Kerry our coordinator, she went above and beyond to make sure the day went perfect. She even got on her knees to help scrub red wine out of my dress. Everyone was telling me how amazing she was, better then the coordinators they used for their own wedding. I wouldn't have changed anything.. -
User2034764 Sent on 02/09/2015This venue will take your breath away. There are many different areas to choose from to hold your wedding and reception depending on what your wedding theme is. For a more intimate wedding check out the underground wine cellar but it you are wanting a larger crown go with the garden area.

User1202073 Sent on 06/16/2013We selected Ironstone Vineyards for our wedding venue last summer. The location was more than we could have hoped for. We love wine tasting, so the vineyard atmosphere was perfect for us. We loved being able to have our ceremony, appetizer reception, and dinner reception in different areas of the facility. Our guests still comment on how beautiful our wedding was. One great thing about Ironstone is that it is simply beautiful. You don’t need many decorations, etc. as the grounds are simply stunning and pictures turn out wonderfully because of the gorgeous location.
The food at our reception was just okay. We were bummed to learn the day of our wedding (as we were walking into our reception) that the chef we met with previously was no longer working there, and as a result the food at our wedding was quite different than the food we had tasted when selecting our meal options. If you select Ironstone for your wedding, make sure the chef who will be catering your wedding is the same one who prepares your tasting menu.
Ironstone seemed to be in a transition last year as we worked with four different people before being secured with Denise, the onsite wedding coordinator, to plan our wedding. As a result, we were only able to meet with Denise once prior to our wedding, which was fairly nerve wracking and added an unneeded stress to our wedding planning. There were quite a few things that did not go as planned (the votive candles were not set up in the reception and the DJ booth was placed right next to our grandparent’s table, among many others). We hope that those kinks have been worked out for future couples as the location is wonderful, but the carrying out of the details seems to be difficult. Make sure that if you select Ironstone as your wedding location, you know for certain who will be your point of contact for Ironstone and ensure that said person will be there throughout your wedding planning process. -

First off my wedding was absolutely beautiful. The venue is beyond beautiful.
Getting to that beautiful day was a nightmare. Every time Ironstone gave me an invoice I would have to go through it with a fine toothed comb because it was always wrong...not by a little, but by thousands of dollars. The first time, I was charged for the venue fee twice. When I showed confusion on my face they assured me that they went over the invoice 5 times to ensure it was correct before presenting it to me. I found the issue within seconds. It was $3,000 too high, the exact amount they charged me for the venue fee. It was obvious. Clearly they did not check it like they assured me they did.
After showing them the quote, they obliged and change it.
This continued throughout every transaction with them. The second invoice was $5,000 too high, that time was due to an internal communication that they did own up to. They did honor the pricing that was originally quoted, but I did have to return the invoices to them to be redone over and over again. I expected that Ironstone would be professional enough to at least double check their invoices before sending me the wrong numbers and or wedding day details multiple times on the same invoice.
The Wedding Coordinator was terrible to work with... 1. She would ask me questions and constantly interrupt me when answering. 2. She did not want to hear my wants for the wedding, she just wanted to copy and paste what she did for the last one. I never felt heard and understood. 3. I had to correct her multiple times on the same things over and over. I even had it in writing, and she'd still have to revise it again. 4. I rented the venue until 8pm, they started packing my wedding up at 6:45pm even though I asked them to stop. They continued to behind my back.
They brag of having a wedding day coordinator, not worth it. I barely saw her and she did not help with anything. My wedding party did all the set up, they never saw her around. She wasn't with me helping us stay on time, because I forgot my bouquet which she wasn't there to help me with, and my wedding cake was never delivered, which she never even noticed. I noticed it before she did. (I did give her a detailed timeline that she clearly never looked at)
What did the Day of Coordinator actually do? Nothing from what I could tell.
Despite all of this, I did enjoy my wedding because I was going to let any of this get to me.
I would not recommend Ironstone for a wedding venue.
It's a beautiful venue, but the planning stress wasn't worth it.
If I had known then, what I know now about what I'd have to deal with...I would have chosen another beautiful venue in Calaveras County.Ironstone Vineyards's reply:

Congratulations on your beautiful wedding and thanks for choosing Ironstone. Your decorations were beautiful, your dress was exceptional, and your guests were wonderful; and looked to have had a great time. It was also wonderful that your attendance was so close to 100%, far better than any of our other 2020 weddings.
I’m truly sorry that as you look back in sum total and score us so low, I humbly believe that we did better than 1.8 stars. Wedding planning is stressful in any year but in 2020 much more so, our industry has never had to deal with so many uncertainties for such a prolonged period that remains indefinite. I am glad that the two of you did choose to stay with your date and plan, gratefully it was hardly altered by the Pandemic Guidelines from how you planned it. As we discussed, my own wedding in September was cancelled by another venue, my bride and I had just 3 weekend to plan an alternate wedding and cut our guest list to just 25%. We are grateful that we too were able to get married but, in a way, very different from what we spent 18 months planning.
Your budget was your top concern once we secured your date, for you we did a custom package including a discounted site fee that you quoted in your response. In the end you didn’t spend a penny over the original total that we worked with; it was actually less with some of the edits you made along the way. Yes, there were two moments that we made errors on totals that were presented to you, and they both happened to be my errors. They were quickly corrected, and you were never over billed, never over paid, and you never had to wait for a refund for either of the prior. Both issues were corrected by calls to and from my cellphone which you have had since the first day we spoke. On top of it all, our kitchen prepared a meal beyond what we first talked about in our meeting at the original price quoted.
I’m disappointed that you felt Charlene a mismatch with you and that you feel that she didn’t fulfill your expectations on your day. In regard to your bouquet, which made it to you after you walked the aisle, it was just minutes away and we got it to you immediately; I respect that you decided to walk without it rather than pause for it. As for your cake, it’s a shame that your vendor, one with whom we never worked with before nor do we have on our preferred vendor list, got your date wrong. With your cakes in her oven at the start of your dinner there was no chance she could rescue your cake. That’s when I stepped in and got you a professionally made and decorated cake for your cutting and service to your guests. I got the cakes on site in time and we didn’t charge you for them. Finally, I personally was a part of the setup team, served in the wedding, and was part of the cleanup crew. I don’t understand how you felt that we ended your event prematurely or started breaking down too early. We were exactly on time with the mutually agreed upon timeline in your contract. Throughout the entire experience I was both personally available to you or a cell phone call away.
None of us were happy that the temperature dropped 30 degrees the night before your wedding, your backup venue was available as promised, we did our best to keep you comfortable in the space that you chose.
