  Book Kara now...she's a GEM!!!

  Kara was well-known wedding photographer on the east coast and did a lot of print and lifestyle photography when she moved back to LA County. I found her via the LA Times and booked her for my daughter's small backyard ceremony (10 guests) & Zoom/front yard reception (24 guests)/backyard dinner (14 total). Kara artistically documented an amazing day in their lives and the number of guests doesn't matter. She shot them during "golden hour" when the sun was setting, and came out the week prior to make sure everything was perfect.
  
  Based on our experience, I encourage ANY engaged couples to not wait for the big wedding or postpone and engage her... either way. Book Kara as your photographer and you will feel exactly the same: the special bride and groom you are!
  
  I can't say enough about the stunning photographs and how easy it was to work with Kara.

  Fantastic, Fabulous....Kara has a wonderful "eye" in capturing beautiful moments and keeping the couple relaxed and happy. Her photography is incredible. She did both the engagement pictures and the wedding pictures...terrific! We were thrilled she returned to DC to photograph the wedding. We couldn't be happier. If you have an opportunity to have Kara as your photographer, you will not regret it. We are delighted!

  Words truly cannot express how wonderful Kara is. She is charming, professionalism, personable, and, on top of that, an exceptional photographer. She captures personality, mood, and feeling in such a way that not only feels natural but somehow impossible. She ably catches glances between friends and love ones, exchanges and gestures that you would have never thought were possible, and in so doing captures moments that behind anyone else’s lens may have been lost forever. Moreover, these moments are always beautiful. Her facility with lenses and lighting are astounding. Every picture that she took of our wedding, of our friends, of our family, of us, deserves to be framed. She made us all look beautiful, but also, perhaps more importantly, made us all feel beautiful. Kara is a real gem and we just couldn’t recommend her more highly.

  Kara is a gem! She was great to work with in the planning process (has an easy online form to fill out after you meet with her) and more importantly, her photos are gorgeous! We did our engagement session with Kara, and as soon as we got the pictures back (we got a few sneak peeks within 48 hours!) we knew we had made the right choice for the wedding! Kara is easy going and happy to adapt to your needs and what you're looking for, but she is also not shy to tell you what things will or won't work out - which is just what I look for in a vendor. Kara has a beautiful eye for capturing special moments and you can tell she truly loves what she does, which adds to feeling and care she puts into her work. On our wedding day Kara shot at three locations (getting ready at the hotel, at a park, and at the venue) and even helped drive members of the wedding party around in her car - she goes above and beyond for her clients. At the wedding she was the perfect balance of assertive and 'go with the flow' in regards to making sure we got all our family portraits done and shots of other special moments through the cocktail hour, ceremony and reception. We've seen a handful of pictures so far on the blog posting she does for each of her weddings and everything we've seen so far is magnificent. We can't wait to see the rest! She also sent some early pictures to the mother of the groom who was planning a second party overseas (for family abroad) about 10 days after the wedding in Baltimore so that she could show pictures there - another example of working hard to meet a special need for fast turnaround. And what I find the most amazing is that she somehow was able to get all these great shots without being at all intrusive - I can barely remember actually seeing her outside of the family portraits, yet she was everywhere capturing our memories! I would recommend Kara to anyone in a heartbeat for any kind of special event or portrait session. She is a great find!

  Kara Coleen photography did an amazing job at our wedding. She really "got" us. My husband and I appreciate her mix of posed formal pictures and also candid shots. We interviewed several photographers and none compared to her. We believe she provided the best value for the price as well. She was with me all day and captured all of the getting ready, the detail shots of the various aspects of the wedding, and made sure our reception was well documented.
  
  What is so different about Kara Coleen is that during the posed more formal shots she would tell me and my bridesmaids if we wouldn't like how we looked in a shot (in the nicest way possible). She would kindly suggest we move our arms away from our bodies or raise our chins etc to make sure that the poses were the most flattering.
  
  Kara Coleen put in 100% effort to make sure we would love our pictures, and we do!

  Kara shot our April wedding at the Hendry House in Arlington, VA and did an excellent job capturing the special moments and emotions of our day! She was super flexible and responsive from the time we first contacted her through and beyond our wedding day. She shoots using natural lighting and has an artistic eye for framing and suggesting shots. Neither my fiancé or myself are very photogenic (and are notorious blinkers) but you’d never know it looking at our photos. We had a short ceremony out on the front lawn and to our surprise she had a second shooter onsite (who was great as well) as we had told her it would be a short ceremony and she said that she didn’t want to miss a shot. After the wedding, Kara sent us with a few sneak peak photos within 24 hours and a flash drive with the digital files arrived a few weeks later (she also sent us a link to all images/slideshow) to share with our friends and families. This was great, particularly to be able to get all of the photo files so that we could decide what we’d like to do with them. Much to our surprise, we also received a few print photos from Kara. Overall we were very happy with Kara’s work and really enjoyed working with her. We have beautiful images that will bring smiles to our faces even when we’re old and grey!
