OMG I love my wedding dress we bought from L'atelier! The service was great, I had so much fun trying everything on and the dress I ended up with was definitely not what i thought I would be in! We also did our alterations there and it was perfect. Madeline, the manager, who also helped find my dress knew the gown so well that she really helped assist in the perfect alterations for my dress. Loved every moment of the process there! We also bought my earrings from the shop as well for myself and my mom.

I came to L'atelier after purchasing a gown I regretted. They were very patient with me and helped me find a dress that I loved, and also allowed me to purchase a sample gown so I could fit it within my budget. They have so many beautiful dresses--you will love them!

I went to this fabulous business twice-- once for my dress-- and once for my jewelry. While I didn't end up buying my dress here (should have), I wanted to write a review to rave about the service we were given both times. At both appointments we worked with Kate who was so kind and invested in us. She made me feel like the most important bride she had ever worked with. I would highly recommend this place if not only for the awesome service, but also for the BEAUTIFUL, couture dresses. The whole experience was just amazing.

Amanda and Madeline at L'atilier were amazing! They were so helpful to work with every step of the way and the dress itself was beautiful.

l'atelier couture bridal boutique provides the most amazing selection of Bridal Gowns. My daughter chose a Monique Lhuillier gown that was absolutely gorgeous!. The customer service you'll receive at l'atelier couture is second to none. The alterations were spot on and the dress fit perfectly. Amanda and her team are incredible and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for that extraordinary gown to make their day extra special. Thank you, Amanda!!

I purchased my gorgeous Vera Wang gown from l'atelier in October 2013 for my May 2015 wedding. The entire experience with l'atelier was fantastic from start to finish. My initial appointment was amazing; the consultant was knowledgeable, took great care of me, and most importantly, helped me find the dress of my dreams! Ordering was a breeze and they let me know as soon as the dress came in so I could come see it. When it came time for alterations, everything went perfectly. I needed quite a bit of altering done, but the dress came out beautifully and I couldn't have been happier. I cannot recommend l'atelier enough. Thank you Amanda, Madeline, and the rest of the staff for making this such a positive experience.

I purchased a Vera Wang gown for my 5/25/14 wedding and couldn't have been happier. The salon was professional from start to finish. I had the undivided attention of the sales staff during my initial appointments and the purchasing process was made easy. Minnesota has no clothing sales tax, so purchasing here was a double win! I had a complex schedule, and they were very flexible with my fittings. I ultimately had the gown shipped to my wedding in California. It arrived on time and looked perfect! I was altogether thrilled with the experience.

l'atelier couture bridal is the only place to buy your dress if you live in the midwest. My wedding dress was a very high priority for me, and I was fully prepared to travel to NY or LA to find a designer gown. Little did I know that we have one of the best bridal shops in the country right at my own backdoor.

I chose an exquisite Marchesa gown that fit like a glove and flowed like water. Christina KNEW that was the dress for me. I gave her a little direction, and she had this (and others) gown flown in for me. I don't know how she knew, but she knew that would be the one!

The girls also helped me design a custom veil and custom jewelry. Forget princess, I felt like a movie star. Plus, they helped me complete my look with discussions of hair style, makeup, shoes, everything. I have had several brides reach out to me wondering where I got my dress, and all are now l'atelier customers.

Choosing, buying and fitting my dress with Christina, Madeline and Amanda was one of the most fun experiences of my life...one I will never forget. I just wish I had a reason to go back in there and see the girls more often!

Such a thrill to work with! These ladies really respect their clients and the dresses and designers they are working with. I found my wedding gown here the very first time I went to the shop, and my attendant had me try on one dress before THE dress and when she saw it wasn't doing anything for me, had me take it. Before she had me put on THE dress she said this was her choice for me, and the dress she immediately thought of when she heard me describe my dream gown. I tried it on and after 2 other shops, I got the best reaction, huge gasps and excitement from my family members! The owner and assistants gave me great advice for my veil, sash and jewelry which I also purchased here. I got a lot of compliments on my gown and I am in love with it to this day...I didn't want to take it off! Thank you!!

They were fantastic from start to finish. They helped me pick out the perfect dress & accessorized with a belt that I love & never would have found on my own. My parents still talk about how special l'atelier made them feel when we went to pick out my dress - it's one of those moments I will always remember. The fittings were great & they were so helpful providing advice on what kind of jewlery to wear, etc. I had to travel with my dress from MN to FL and was worried about how it would hold up during the flight, but they packed it so well, it was perfect when we arrived. Could not be happier with my experience!

L'Atelier Couture was the best experience shopping for my wedding dress (and bridesmaids). They were very accomodating for my family to come in and helpful with suggestions and ideas!

They are expensive, but worth it, in my opinion. I loved the whole experience of going to the store, fittings, etc. It is a beautiful space and they take a great deal of pride in what they do. You will not find bargains here but it is a lot of fun!

I went to L'atelier after two friends found their dresses there. You should make and appt, but that is the norm at the shops I looked at. This was the first bridal salon I made and appt at, but had been their with a friend to see her dress.

The sales staff is amazing. Amanda and her staff take the time to get to know you, find what you want, and make sure that your "look" is complete. After talking to me about what I thought I wanted, my body type, what kind of wedding I was having, etc I got to walk through their closet and pull dresses I was interested in. They didn't let me pull anything that was out of my price range (which is great). The sales gal pulled one dress I didn't LOVE, and asked me to try it on first. It was PERFECT (and not at all what I thought would work on me). It was way out of my price range, but they offered to sell me the sample!

Over the process of alterations and accessorizing, they were very helpful and listened to what I needed/thought. My dress needed substantial alterations and there were times I was unhappy with the rough draft, if you will. They listened without making me feel picky or demanding and at the next visit, it was perfect. The alterations were expensive (around $700) but the work was done well and their seamstress knew exactly what she was doing.

I also bought my hair piece (large with flowers and feathers) which was incredible, and I got my earrings from them. Together, they really make the look. I gave them a 4.5 on value since the jewelry is incredible but fairly pricey. I would have loved to get a matching bracelet but it wasn't in my budget.

MUCH better than my experiences at Pricilla's or the Wedding Shoppe (where I walked in and turned around and walked out due to terrrrible service)

I happened to find my wedding dress at L'Atelier Couture during a sample sale. I love their gowns, but normally could not have afforded anything there. I got incredibly lucky and the gown that I ended up falling in love with (even though I didn't think I would love it because it was very different from what i thought I wanted) was marked down incredibly. Kathy, who is their seamstress, did a great job on the alterations. Pressing is $100, and then what I had done was about an additional $275. I caught an error in the math (i was double-charged), and they fixed that. Amanda is amazing, as is Madeline. The store is great, they make you feel special, and I was incredibly lucky to have found a dress at their sample sale. I got loads of compliments on my gown, and couldn't have been more thrilled with my dress!

Amanda and everyone at L'Atelier were beyond amazing. My mom, bridesmaids and I had such a fun, memorable time at L'Atelier during our first visit, that after visiting 10 other stores to find the perfect dress, we had to come back, not because I had found the perfect dress there but because of the experience. Ironically, they began carrying Vera Wang by our second visit and I was able to find and purchase the perfect gown from L'Atelier!

Eat your heart out Kleinfeld.. I kid, but I found several dream dresses here and the gals that work here were phenomonal to work with. I ended up with a Vera Wang's Gemma, and Amanda was okay with me leaving to think about it before purchasing anything. I was not rushed, I wasn't bombarded with overly excited sales people pressuring me, it was a top notch experience.

    Kudos.

These ladies were amazing. The dress, the venue, the pampering is everything you are looking for when you are looking for a dress. I only felt they sometimes forgot that YOU are the guest and they are the store managers and that EVERY guest is important.

I agree that the selection is excellent. I saw so many beautiful dresses and tried on a few. Amanda waited on me the two times I was there. She pulled a beautiful Jenny Lee dress for me the first time. I fell in love but I did not want to make a rush decision. I came back 1.5 months later and ended up buying that Jenny Lee dress. I live out of state and she was willing to ship it to me.

I agree that the selection is amazing and that it is a very nice, peaceful experience...at first.

I was waited on by Amanda herself the two times I came in looking for a dress. The second time I found the dress of my dreams (which I didn't think was possible). It turned out to be a sample sale dress in perfect condition and would require minimal alterations. Well, it was too good to be true! I found out I was pregnant four months before the wedding and called the salon to discuss my options. They had me come in to try the dress on with the seamstress to see what could be done. She thought it would be fine but that we should wait two more months to start the alteration process to see how, and where, my body would change. Again, everyone was calm and it seemed fine. Two months later I go back in to meet with the seamstress and Amanda and discover there is no way I will be able to wear the dress...especially since I was only going to get bigger. I had two options- 1) Try other dresses and order a new one, and 2) Alter this dress drastically (basically end up with an entirely new- short- dress). I tried several dresses and nothing was to my liking. So, after much reassurance from Amanda that this new short dress could be awesome I decided to go for it. Now, I did have one additional option NOT suggested by them. I could sell this dress and start my search from scratch. I should have done this. I went in one month before the wedding to start the fittings for the new creation (again, to make sure my body hadn't changed too much). At that time the dress was still intact...but this was the start of my nightmare. I knew there would be alteration fees but at that time I had no idea how much. AFTER the seamstress cut my dress in two she told me that while normal alterations run $500 and up mine would be $600 and up. This cost, on top of the high price of the original dress, was mind blowing. I could buy a beautiful cocktail dress for the alterations cost alone....and what I ended up with was a poorly fitting cocktail dress!!! I had always had someone with me at all of my appointments except this one. What could I do? The damage was done. Instead of saying anything right away I held my breath and hoped that things would work out. I had several fittings over the last month to try and tweak things here and there. The dress never properly fit my new expanding bust line and was more then a little inappropriate on my wedding day. Right before my final fitting I sent an email to Amanda explaining the situation and asked if we could come to a compromise on the cost of alterations. Nope! I was stuck!!! I went in for the final fitting and noticed the dress was wrinkly and asked if that would be fixed before I picked it up. The sales girl said she had already pressed it. I asked her if she would mind pressing it again and she said she would but not before giving me a dirty look. I did have someone with me that day and asked if I was just imagining the wrinkles and she said no that in fact she was surprised that this was how they had intended sending it home with me. At this point I let my future husband know the situation and asked his advice. He decided he should be the one to pick up the dress and make the final payment and talk to Amanda about the whole thing and see if he could reason with her. He is a much calmer person then I am even without taking into account my pregnancy hormones and the stress of planning a wedding. When he went in and asked for her he was told she was not there...even though her car was in the parking lot. He told the sales girl to have her call him when she returned. Needless to say she did not take responsibility for any of the mis-communication and actually implied I was lying. Oh, and she said she was shocked after all she had given me a discount. What!?! When all was said and done I paid $2,600 for the dress and an additional $150 for a head piece and $200 for a bracelet. I do think she gave me $10 off the headpiece as it was not in perfect condition due to the fact that it was the store sample. So, I guess $10 in the grand scheme of things is a blessing...right! The kicker is that the dress was not something I would have ever worn under normal circumstances. It was ill fitting and unremarkable for the cost (bridesmaids dresses look nicer). Oh, and the 'special' cups that were put in had to be removed before dry cleaning because they were not adhered properly.

    PS
They actually tried to 'friend' me on Facebook!

Unfortunately, we had several problems after purchasing a wedding and cocktail dress. My measurements had not changed at all between ordering and my first fitting, however, the dress cam in way too tight. It barely zipped all the way in back, it was difficult for me to breathe, and it did not look flattering. The lady assured me that this was normal. I was not convinced, but having never purchased a wedding dress before, decided to listen. I took my dress in for alterations at their seamstress and the woman there said she couldn't believe they let me leave the store looking like that. She said this was clearly not a good fit and could barely get the gown zipped. They ended up having to let out all the extra fabric to achieve a good fit. The alterations were very costly. If my measurements didn't change at all, there should be no reason a $4,000 dress custom ordered to my measurements should need to be let out all the way in order to zip. I am especially convinced of their mistake after purchasing a cocktail dress. I'm short so when I ordered the dress, I told them that I wanted it to be the same length as the shorter sample. I went in to pick up the day before my rehearsal and the gown was wrinkled and way too long. The lady insisted they ordered the shorter hem line. We found the sample and a manager came in and measured the gowns. There was a difference of 5 inches! They offered to hem my dress in time for my dinner but charged us for alterations!! This experience was so ridiculous that we reached out to the owner. They refunded our alterations fee, did not offer any kind of apology, and did not take any responsibility for the issues had with my wedding gown.. I would not recommend that anyone shop here. The brands they sell are available elsewhere and for what you'll pay for one of these dresses, you should go somewhere that will treat you better. There is no reason anyone should pay thousands for gowns that come in wrinkled and off by several inches.

Thank you for your comments Browyn. I'm sorry you were displeased with our customer service. We strive to give the best service to each client from start to finish. Madeline apologized in both the email & phone call with your mother when she refunded your alterations charge. She also clarified the cup adjustment during that same conversation. As for me having no interest, that is not the case at all! I love our l'atelier brides. It is truly my passion! I am home for the summer with my children to be a mom. I have store managers in all four of my stores that step into my shoes while I'm away! They are amazing and I'm grateful for them allowing me to be home. I hope you & your mother can accept my apology. We wish you and your husband the best! We'd love to see photos of your special day! xo Marie
