We had the most perfect, magical wedding weekend at Mad River Barn. From the rehearsal dinner, to welcome party, wedding, to after party, they executed everything so seamlessly and made sure we were always taken care of. Adrienne and her team were an absolute delight to work with and were so incredibly kind! We also really appreciated how welcoming they were to having our golden retriever on-site with us!! I can not imagine getting married at a more beautiful venue. Thanks for everything!!!

We booked our wedding with the Mad River Barn in 2019 and after finally celebrating 3 years later, we can say without a doubt that this was our best planning decision. The fact that the Mad River Barn can cover so many aspects of the wedding weekend made planning from across the country such an easy experience. The big positives are that your family and friends can stay on site (summer camp vibes!), the MRB can coordinate and host your rehearsal/welcome dinner, reception, and Sunday brunch, and the food and bar services are all in house. The whole property is spectacular with gorgeous landscaping and the pavilion is beautiful as is, so you don't need much in terms of decor to make the space shine. Since the MRB only hosts one wedding each weekend, you really receive incredible, personalized service the entire time.
Most importantly, the MRB team is outstanding. Adrienne is the best coordinator we could have imagined, with frequent communication leading up to our wedding weekend and then flawless execution throughout our time there. She was available for questions, to provide help for our rehearsal, to execute our ceremony, and then as things popped up the rest of the weekend. Adrienne seems to be calm, cool, and collected at all times--the exact person you want to be working with. The Chef, Sam, is phenomenal. To be honest, we didn't have any expectations for the quality of our wedding food based on the other weddings we've attended. We were BLOWN AWAY by how good every single meal was--the breakfasts were outstanding, the appetizers and entrees for our reception were perfect, and even the late night snacks in the pub were outrageous, especially the arancini! He describes his style as "rustic elegance" (I hope I got that right, Sam!) and absolutely nails it (his prior experience in the food world throughout Vermont will blow your mind too). We had a handful of friends with specific dietary restrictions who endlessly complimented their "chef's choice" meals too! Then of course the owners, Andrew and Dave, are the sweetest human beings who will stop to help in any way, shape, or form. Andrew was working throughout our entire reception and even took care of all of the cards and gifts at the pavilion so that we didn't have to worry about those. We really enjoyed every team member's company: Robin, Rachel, Jess, Jenny, Caleb and everyone I'm forgetting to name were kind, attentive, and just generally fun to be around.
Lastly, all of our vendors had the kindest things to say about working with the MRB. Those who had worked on site before said it's one of their favorite venues to work at, and the ones who were new to the MRB were floored by its beauty, the ease of working with the staff, and how smoothly every event flowed.
The Mad River Barn provided us with the most perfect wedding weekend we could have imagined. If you can manage to snag a date, we can't recommend it enough.

We can't say enough about our wedding weekend at Mad River Barn! It was beyond our expectations! Our friends and family can't stop talking about it. Unfortunately due to the pandemic our wedding had to be delayed two times and MRB made the situation stress free and easy to handle. From planning to the actual wedding they were simply amazing in every way. The food for every single meal throughout the weekend was absolutely epic! The staff were attentive, polite, and so much fun! The venue and surroundings are amazing and just perfect. It was great to go to one location and have everything available (hotel, rehearsal dinner, breakfast, pub for after parties, ceremony site, cocktail hour, and reception). Being able to have our family and friends stay at MRB and no one else was such a fun time. It was a nonstop fun filled weekend with all of our loved ones in one amazing location and we couldn't have asked for more. We our already talking about going back for vacation next year with a big group of us! Adrienne, Andrew, Jess, and the rest of the staff - Jen and I can't thank you enough for making our weekend even better than we had expected! You all are amazing and we are so grateful to have found MRB and met all of you. We had a blast getting to know you all. Thanks so much for everything. We will see you next year!!

Not only is the Mad River Barn naturally gorgeous, but the staff are so attentive and organized - we couldn’t have imagined a better place to get married!

One of the things we really love about MRB is how reasonable their services are, and how they help you to not waste money - but they actually help you save!!

First, they help to work with you on figuring out a strategy for alcohol, and they are upfront in helping so there are no “morning after” bill surprises, which was something we respect and appreciate.

Next, when it comes to decorations, they don’t charge for rentals for the tables that you already have, and the tables are such a natural color that you don’t need to cover them with linen rentals.

When it came to decorating, we didn’t need to do much because of the natural beauty of the pavilion, but they do have a “Pinterest shed” with tons of decorations and table numbers that we were able to use, so we didn’t need to spend money on decorations, and we didn’t waste buying something that would be used for one night. This saved a huge hassle and expense, and is a fantastic benefit to couples.

We loved having MRB as our home base for the weekend, and the staff was all incredibly attentive and friendly to anything we needed. The day of the wedding, they helped to make sure that we had a bite to eat and cocktails for cocktail hour, because they knew we wouldn’t get to them ourselves, and at the end of the night, they delivered our gifts to our room for us, so we didn’t need to worry about delegating tasks to the wedding party or stressing about it.

We were not sure what to expect when we decided to proceed with our wedding celebration amid a global pandemic, but we could not be more grateful for the support of the Mad River Barn staff. They took all of the necessary precautions to make our guests feel safe and comfortable during this unusual time. Despite being their first wedding event for the entire summer, they had all of their COVID safety protocols in place to meet rigorous state guidelines for food and bar service throughout the duration of the event. We were all a bit apprehensive to be amongst a larger crowd after many weeks of isolation, but their attention to detail immediately put us at ease. They demonstrated the utmost professionalism and flexibility while helping us work through some difficult decisions as our vision for our event was forced to evolve.

When planning our event, we did not want to feel pressured to conform to a demanding timeline, but instead wanted to feel fully present with our friends and family. By selecting a venue that allowed the majority of our guests to stay onsite, we were able to host our rehearsal dinner, welcome party, ceremony, reception, and after party all in the versatile event spaces found on the property. This helped us make the most of the weekend because there was no need to add in additional travel time to an already tight schedule. As an added bonus, Mad River Barn had a ton of great accommodations, including a pub and game room that kept our guests entertained late into the night! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and our guests thoroughly enjoyed exploring the property in their spare time. It was truly a warm and welcoming experience for all and we could not be more grateful for the positive and friendly interactions from this team!

I called MRB and talked to Heather (one of the owners) and quickly scheduled a visit for the next day. The venue is absolutely amazing and the people behind it, even better. There is impeccable attention to detail and a genuine feeling of "we would be excited to have your wedding here" rather than the "you would be lucky to get married here" feeling I had at other venues. Heather said "it's like summer camp for adults"...that is exactly what we want our weekend to be like! I can't wait to continue to work with the MRB team to plan our wedding.

They are organized, professional, and so nice! They made my wedding day run so smoothly. The barn is beautiful and the food is amazing!!

The Mad River Barn was everything we dreamed of. A breathtaking venue that includes everything you need, delicious food, and staff who treat you like family. My family and guests had such a wonderful weekend staying on the property, and no one wanted to leave. One thing I really love about MRB is that they honestly go above and beyond to think of everything you could possibly need for your day. Rain in the forecast? Don't worry—they have a ton of umbrellas, including clear ones! This was a huge sigh of relief for me. I didn't realize it until I got there that weekend, but rain was forecast and I was so nervous. Then I saw that they had us covered. Need some extra decor? Have no fear. They have an entire Pinterest shed that you can borrow from. Guests with special dietary restrictions? MRB accommodated guests of mine who were gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, could only eat pureed food due to medical issues, etc. It was just an amazing weekend from start to finish and I can't wait to go back and visit.

We can't recommend Mad River Barn highly enough! The owners Heather & Andrew are wonderful guides in planning and executing whatever you envision for your wedding, and the entire staff is incredibly kind and professional. The venue itself is beautiful. The ceremony site is intimate and photographs beautifully; the barn for the reception is modern but rustic and is a great blank canvas for your theme. We had 150 people and the site accommodated everyone wonderfully. Because ~40 of our guests stayed at Mad River Barn and everyone else stayed at other nearby inns, it felt like adult summer camp and made our wedding festivities stretch out for the entire weekend. We used the pub and the restaurant Friday and Sunday to spend extra time with our guests. On the day of our wedding, it was made everything so much easier to be able to get ready on site (separate areas for groomsmen and bride/bridesmaids) and then have the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party (in the pub) all within walking distance of one another.
You can really trust the team at Mad River Barn, which made the planning process much less stressful for us. Heather helped us find ways to stay within our budget but also make the events that we wanted throughout the weekend come to life in the most wonderful way. Our wedding was everything that we wanted, and then some. Having the perfect venue was a huge factor in this! Enjoy!

After visiting Mad River Barn (the first venue we saw), we didn’t even bother going elsewhere.

It’s not an understatement to say that MRB really has it all. To us, we had it all:
- Intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by lush Vermont greenery
- Reception fully equipped with lawn games, a Ben&Jerry’s ice cream sundae bar, s’mores fire pit, Photo Booth, and a rowdy (the good kind) dance floor
- Lodging on site for about 40 guests (our wedding party, parents, parents, grandparents, cousins and some friends were all able to stay right on site)
- Pub for an after party— allowed us to keep the party going until 2 AM

From the guest rooms to the pavilion, the venue is perfect in all it’s entirety. From the breakfast buffet (available on weekends for guests) to our wedding reception meals, the food was delicious and never disappointed.

Everything was perfect but it was the people who made the biggest difference and had the largest impact on me - Mad River Barn is run by and staffed with an amazing group of people. All of the employees are attentive, good-humored and helpful. They went all around above and beyond to ensure that we, our families and our guests had an unforgettable weekend. The atmosphere at MRB is heavily dictated by the owners, Heather and Andrew, who are truly two of the nicest and coolest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting, working with and spending time with. Heather and Andrew were an absolute joy to work with from day one and truly made the supposedly stressful planning process a complete breeze for us.

When we look back on our wedding day and remember it, eventually the little details like what we ate and what music was playing will fizzle out - but one thing is for sure, we will never forget where we spent it and who we spent it with and that very much includes Heather, Andrew and the amazing staff at Mad River Barn.

I can’t recommend Mad River Barn enough for your wedding venue! As family and friends fill up the inn, MRB becomes your home for the weekend. Our guests have deemed our wedding weekend “Adult Sumer Camp” and “The Ultimate Reunion,” because MRB provides the space to detach from the outside world and enjoy the company of your loved ones while drinking a variety of craft brews, playing fun games and exploring the gorgeous Vermont scenery.
Every inch of Mad River Barn has been touched with love. The attention to detail that was clearly put into design and structure makes the inn, pub, dining room, grounds, and pavilion immaculate. The staff and owners, Andrew and Heather, are so accommodating, always there to answer questions or help you with anything you need, plus all the staff are personable and ready to have a good time with you and your guests!
Heather and Andrew made my husband and I feel so at ease throughout the whole planning process because of their impeccable organizational skills, love for what they do, and flawless execution of our vision. Coming from Brooklyn and unfamiliar with the area, they were super helpful throughout planning, suggesting weekend activities (such as waterfall jumping at Warren Falls), recommending great lunch spots and referring competent, fantastic vendors.
And the food is nothing short of AMAZING! Sergio the chef infuses creativity, flavor and passion into his meals. He is willing to tweak his dishes to your liking and is literally open to cooking anything you want for your reception! And waking up every morning to a hot Vermont breakfast with French toast and fresh granola….it is gourmet comfort food at it’s finest.
We’ve gained lifetime friends and know that Mad River is now our new home away from home. It was genuinely a weekend we and our guests will never forget. It could not have gone more perfect. MRB is not only a place to stay: it is a warm, cozy, homey experience that begs you to come back for seconds.

We had our rehearsal dinner and pre-wedding party at the Mad River Barn in August and it was awesome! We were able to host a private dinner in the downstairs room and then move upstairs to meet the rest of our out-of-town guests for drinks and mingling.

The food was awesome, the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect for kicking off our wedding weekend! We are excited to come back to Barn for dinner when we are in the area!

You know your wedding was one for the books when your friends and family are still talking about it 9 months later! My husband and I and our families could not have had a better experience working with Andrew and Heather at the Mad River Barn.

in our venue search we were looking for a location that would allow our guests to experience what we love about Vermont (mountains, rivers, farmers markets, fresh air) while also being comfortable. We also wanted our wedding to be a weekend experience since most were from our of town.

Our wedding was held on the back lawn with close to 200 guests. We were able to set up games in the lawn for the weekend and utilize their huge fire pit! Heather and Andrew worked with us to secure everything from our tent, caterer, restrooms and they worked well with all our vendors which made our wedding day stress free. They were amazingly accommodating and helpful. Any question or request that came up they went above and beyond to make it happen.

Our ceremony was held out in the back lawn as well, the mountain backdrop is GORGEOUS and was easily my favorite part of the wedding. What's a wedding without the perfect ceremony spot?

Another great part of our wedding at the MRB was the ability to rent out all the rooms for the weekend and have a central location for all our guests to gather. We had dinner there nightly, including our rehearsal dinner. Their food is delicious and focuses on local and in season meals, which was important to me. The bar has all the Vermont favorite beer and wine that you come to VT for! It was easy to host our large group for the whole weekend.

Heather and Andrew and the whole MRB staff really makes you feel like a part of their family, our friends and family have even said similar, and they were only guests! It truly is a magical place. I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I highly recommend you consider having your wedding at MRB.

Mad River Barn was a wonderful rehearsal dinner venue. It was a special and intimate night with delicious food and the perfect atmosphere. Heather and Andrew were easily accessible and great on email. It was the PERFECT place for our rehearsal dinner!

My wife and I stumbled across the Mad River Barn while hiking the Long Trail. It only took us one evening to decide that, when the time came, we would be married at the Barn. As it turns out, the time came much quicker than expected- we ended up with less than a month to plan. What could have been a stressful situation became enjoyable thanks to the wedding planning expertise of Andrew and Heather. They were responsive, caring and incredibly professional. Our ceremony was perfect, thanks greatly to the initiative taken by both of them. So many details we could never have anticipated were simply taken care of for us. Heather and Andrew knew exactly what to do throughout the entire process. And the food....I still remember how phenomenal all of the meals were. Somehow, they also got their hands on a few cases of Heady Topper. Seriously, they are amazing!

We are so thankful for all that they did to make our wedding day indescribable! You will be, too.

We had our reception at the Mad River Barn and were extremely happy with how things worked out. We worked primarily with Andrew, and he was very responsive to our questions and inquiries. Everything was very reasonably priced, and the staff were amazing. During the reception I didn't have to worry about a thing, and was able to completely enjoy myself. The only draw back was the number of guests. We had 80 people attend, and there was plenty of room in the dining room. However, this is where the dancing took place as well, so we had to move everyone to the bar while they took down the tables and put up a dance floor. With a smaller guest list this would likely not be an issue. This was explained to us ahead of time, so we knew this would happen and were okay with it, but it did interrupt the flow of the evening. Overall, it was a fantastic event!

Andrew & Heather were amazing!!! We had half of the wedding party stay at the Mad River Barn as our Basecamp and they hosted the Breakfast on the last day as well as the rehearsal dinner. They went above and beyond to take stress away from the bride and groom and make sure our guest were comfortable.

Heather and Andrew made what could have been a stressful and overwhelming endeavor feel effortless. They are incredibly supportive and accommodating. If you want a special setting and vibe for your wedding in Vermont, the Mad River Barn is it.

We were the first wedding in the newly constructed pavilion at the Mad River Barn and we cannot begin to describe how beautiful it was! Our wedding day was 5/20/17, which meant that the Mad River Barn was just putting the finishing touches on the new pavilion before our wedding day and they did a phenomenal job. Being the first wedding in the new pavilion had my wife and I were a little concerned that there would be issues, but Heather and Andrew both pulled it off and the day was nearly seamless. Their dedication to ensuring that our day went smoothly was truly above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. Leading up to the day, Heather was extremely accommodating and helpful, always answering our questions promptly and helpfully. On the day of, they were both very attentive to our needs, checking in with us frequently for any decisions that needed to be made while also allowing us to enjoy our big day. The food was also phenomenal, all of our guests have told us how delicious everything was, which was very important to us. I'd highly recommend the Mad River Barn to anyone!

Heather, Andrew, and the whole Mad River Barn team went above and beyond to make me and my husband's wedding better than we could have ever imagined!

We had a small 50 person wedding, and were able to follow their small wedding's program (for weddings under 100 guests). All of our guests raved about how beautiful and unique the venue was and how cozy the inn was. I would absolutely recommend the Mad River Barn to anyone looking for a rustic venue that still includes many of the amenities and takes a lot of the stress out of the planning process!

The Mad River Barn was the perfect place for our intimate, laid-back wedding ceremony, dinner, and reception. The food was delicious and well-timed; the decor of the restaurant and bar, and the landscape surrounding the Mad River Barn were all beautiful and charming backdrops; and, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We wanted to give our friends and family who were traveling from around the country, a little taste of the real VT, and MRB definitely helped us achieve that!

As we started looking at wedding venues, we wanted to find a place where our family and friends could stay for the weekend, enjoy the area, and have the wedding we always imagined. The Mad River Barn was the perfect balance of rustic yet modern with its new finishes and incredible wood beamed wedding pavilion. The grounds are kept absolutely beautiful.
In planning the wedding, Heather has the process worked out perfectly with coordinating the room block, rehearsal dinner, and reception. Andrew keeps an eye on everything throughout the weekend making sure everything is absolutely perfect and on point with what was included in the contract.
Our wddding weekend was magical and the Mad River Barn will always hold a special place in our hearts. I could not recommend them enough.
I would just say if you have booked with the barn - make sure you have a wedding coordinator or bridesmaid team dedicated to helping the day of. MRB considers place cards, s’mores, and favors ‘outside items’ which is not their responsibility to setup. If you bring any outside items - just make sure you (the bride) is not the one running around to set them up!
