Charming Venue Near Downtown Monroe At An Incredible Price

I didn't think finding a wedding venue was going to be so frustrating. Most places wanted us to pay a small fortune to rent out the facility for a few hours. So we thought we could cut costs by doing a potluck reception where my mom can bring her famous Chinese chicken, or an aunt could make her delicious meatballs. We were wrong. Turns out most places wouldn't allow potluck and required us to use their caterer. The price? Same as the venue.

So then we went looking for churches to rent. Not only would we be helping the local community, but it wouldn't cost a fortune and time was running out. It would've been fine, except we wanted to use our own officiant. Turns out churches can be a bit picky about that.

That's when we found Madison Hill Chapel, a charming little venue near downtown Monroe. Emanuel (the owner) was more than accommodating, and even went out of his way to fulfill some of our suggestions.

The chapel itself was charming and reminiscent of the old style churches from the 1940's with a large open cathedral ceiling, balcony, and church pews. Not only was the chapel itself comfortable for the 100+ people that attended our wedding, the reception hall was next door and was equally accommodating with an industrial sized kitchen.

I would definitely recommend Madison Hill Chapel to anyone wanting to get married or eloped.

Stunning venue with tons of amenities for both the bride and the groom.

Stunning multi-building venue. Tons of room between the two buildings to accommodate both the groom and the bride without risking being seen. The church building has a wonderful balcony for a photographer to shoot wide to really capture the essence of your ceremony. Major plus is the groom can get ready in the basement of the reception hall so it will always been cooler temps than any where else in the venue. There are separate rooms with a pool table and ping pong tables to keep the groomsmen entertained. The venue manager Nicole is an kind soul who is a pleasure to work with.

    March Wedding

My wedding at Madison Hill Chapel exceeded my expectations! The venue is beautiful and so easy to decorate for any color scheme. The ivory walls provide a clean look and also reflect light. Since we had such a beautiful day for the wedding, we didn’t even need to turn on the chapel lights, but we had natural light shining in which made for wonderful pictures. In addition, they provide tables and seating for the reception area which worked out perfectly for us!

Nicole, who is the event manager, was great at answering questions we had leading up to the wedding and she walked us through the venue the day before our wedding again. We had a Saturday wedding, and since there was no wedding the day before ours they were flexible allowed us to have our rehearsal the day before instead of the Thursday before the wedding. They were also gracious enough to allows us to decorate the day before as well which really helped alleviate the stress of decorating the day of the wedding!

The only stressful thing that happened was a miscommunication with the check for our final payment for the venue. It somehow was lost before getting cashed by the owner of the venue two week prior to the wedding. However, they were willing to work with us, and we canceled that cashiers check and provided them with one AFTER the wedding (as per the guidelines with our local bank for canceling cashier checks and getting a new one 90 days later). I’m thankful they were willing to work with us on that with the mistake that was made on their part. It was all handled well.

All in all, I would highly recommend Madison Hill Chapel for those who want a “church” or “vintage/old school” wedding! It’s such a beautiful place to have a wedding!
