Mary was the best officiant we could’ve asked for, her ceremony was the most memorable part of our wedding for so many people. We got so many compliments on the level of detail, the personalization and care that was put into our ceremony and it was all thanks to Mary. We had all intentions of ‘interviewing’ several officiants before finding the one — but after we met with Mary for the first time, we knew she was it. We had several calls with her leading up to the wedding and she took the time to learn my husband and my story, our families, and our personalities. We are forever grateful for Mary, look NO further than her for your wedding. -

Just Hire Her.
I first reached out to Mary to see if she offered coaching. I was pretty set on choosing someone close to us to preform our ceremony. She explained that she used to offer coaching but found that when couples chose a family member or friend to preform their ceremony it results in a lot more stress on everyone than expected. I still wasn't 100% sold on hiring someone simply because I thought it wouldn't feel personal enough but I scheduled a call with Mary anyways. My fiance (now husband) and I were impressed and ultimately decided to move forward with her as our officiant, though I still wondered if I was making a mistake.
Leading up to our day Mary took a ton of care into learning about us and our story. She offered creative ideas for how we can make our ceremony special with such amazing attention to detail. The process was collaborative, fun and stress free.
Fast forward to our wedding day and Mary was INCREDIBLE! She told our story in such an authentic and captivating way. I knew our ceremony would be the most perfect for us. What I did not expect was the overwhelming praise from our guests. Countless guests approached me at and after our wedding to tell me our ceremony was one of the best they have ever witnessed. They laughed, cried and felt like they got to see a side of our relationship that not everyone gets to see. It was so heartwarming.
I cannot tell you how happy I am that we hired Mary. She is THE BEST OF THE BEST!! -

Hiring Mary was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Our guests are still raving about how touching, personalized, elegant, and polished the ceremony was. Mary was very generous with her time throughout the planning process and really got to know us. She captured our story so beautifully, and several of our guests commented that they felt like they knew us better afterwards. She was also incredibly helpful at the rehearsal and on the wedding day -- she knew the logistics inside and out, and she made sure everything went perfectly. To top it all off, after our wedding, we received a beautiful bound copy of the ceremony that we will treasure as a wedding keepsake. If you're lucky enough that Mary has availability, you should snap her up right away -- you will be so grateful that you did! -

Beautiful Ceremony and Process
Working with Mary was a joyful and beautiful experience. Mary is an incredible officiant and human being. She takes her time getting to know her couples, so that when she tells your story, it is authentic - we loved our zoom sessions with her. She is so accommodating, collaborative, and an incredible speaker. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our ceremony was and how they were beyond impressed with our officiant! She told our story beautifully and we loved having her with us on our big day. She is a true professional and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a truly special ceremony that feels authentic to you! -

We chose Mary as our wedding officiant and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! From the start, Mary was awesome with communication and helpful throughout the entire process. Mary truly guided us through developing our ceremony, to the marriage license and coordinating the rehearsal. She gave us various worksheets and resources to use to help her develop our story for the ceremony and choose our vows and readings. She shared tips and tricks to be present and manage emotions during our wedding day. She also was present for our rehearsal and took on the task of organizing everyone and making sure the rehearsal flowed smoothly in coordination with our venue manager. On our wedding day, our guests enjoyed the ceremony and loved just how Mary shared our story. Mary provided a keepsake copy of our ceremony that we will always cherish. She truly went above and beyond! -

When we hired Mary Coburn to be our Officiant we had no idea that she would end up writing and delivering a Ceremony that literally blew everyone away! She took the time and made the effort to know us and connect with us so that when she wrote our ceremony - it was incredibly personal, moving and just lovely. So many of our guests commented that it was the most beautiful Ceremony and how beautifully written it was! Beyond what she wrote for us, Mary’s experience and knowledge was invaluable at the rehearsal. She understood where everyone should stand - including herself - so that no one was blocking us for photographs. She gave great instructions and made us feel so comfortable throughout the ceremony. In a nutshell, working with Mary was one of the best decisions we made and she made our ceremony one that we will never forget! We are very grateful to her for helping to make our wedding truly magical! -

Choosing Mary as our wedding celebrant was, without a doubt, a decision we cannot recommend highly enough! We hired Mary to be our wedding officiant in June 2019. Mary came highly recommended from our wedding planner and we also did a ton of research ourselves. Best decision we've ever made!!! Mary truly has a special gift for what she does. She has incredible grace, empathy, warmth, charisma and kindness, and everyone at our ceremony and I mean everyone commented about how wonderful she was and how beautiful and heartfelt our ceremony was. Every step of the way, she was PRESENT, an excellent listener and communicator, and made us feel so grounded. She was truly amazing with our family and friends during the rehearsal, and worked amazingly well with all our vendors. And it wasn't just what she said during our ceremony, it was the WAY she said it and how she shared our story. One thing my husband really enjoyed about her was the time and the several rounds she took with both of us reviewing our personal vows until they were perfect. It really shows the level of commitment she made. We are eternally grateful for her authenticity and the bright spirit she brings to her work. She set the tone for the entire occasion and was absolutely pivotal to the success of our special day!!!! -

If we could have Mary be the godmother of our first child, I honestly think we would. She's that amazing. The ceremony was one of the most important pieces of the wedding for us and Mary made it so special. Both of my parents (separately) were trying to make recommendations for an officiant based on someone they had seen as guests of a wedding. But we ended up doing our own research on the Knot and decided to meet with Mary. We obviously loved her and booked her after the initial meeting. We later found out that Mary was the SAME PERSON my parents were recommending to us. Truly the stars aligning. Mary was sensitive to family dramas and creative in presenting solutions. She was thorough, kind, patient and responsive. An hour before the ceremony she came up to check on me and I was a bundle of nerves. I asked her to walk through the entire ceremony with me again. She physically walked me through each step, knowing that would help me feel calmer. I was so grateful for her. And the written ceremony Mary drafted was just perfect. It was personal, sweet and funny. She listened to who we were, what we loved about each other and wrote the most beautiful ceremony that truly encompassed our love and who we are as a couple. She even puts the entire written ceremony and our vows in a little pamphlet for us as a gift at the end. We will cherish it forever. If you get sick, Mary is the type of person that you'd want to take care of you. She has this contagious and positive energy about her. All our guests were talking about our officiant. We all just adore her. -

The best choice we made for our wedding!
We are so happy we went with Mary as our officiant! From the start, she listened to everything we wanted and needed in our ceremony. She puts so much extra effort in that we never would have expected. She was able to incorporate our story into our ceremony so beautifully and she was so eloquent in her words. She truly has a gift! Seven months later guests are still raving about her. We will forever be so thankful we found her to be part of this new chapter in our lives. Thank you Mary! -

My husband and I can't imagine having anyone other than Mary marry us on our wedding day. She was both professional and personable - making it a point to get to know us well, providing great input, putting together the most perfect and unique but classic ceremony. We received so many compliments from our guests on the ceremony, and Mary in particular. We are so honored to have had Mary with us on our wedding day! -

Choosing Mary as our wedding officiant was by far the BEST decision we made for our wedding day. When looking for an officiant, we were very hesitant and nervous about who we should hire, as my husband and I come from two completely different cultures, religions and backgrounds and wanted to bring both into one ceremony. From the first email exchange with Mary, she instantly put us at ease! Without hesitation, she offered to meet with us and answer any questions we had before we had even decided to hire her. She spent hours talking with us at that first meeting, making every effort to really get to know both of us and what our wants/needs were for our ceremony. We were instantly impressed by her dedication to making our ceremony completely customized to represent us and bringing significant rituals and customs from both of our cultures/religions into one ceremony. From that first meeting we knew we had chosen the right person to marry us and really honor the journey that had led to our wedding. Now, almost a year after our wedding, many of our guests still rave about our ceremony and Mary! Our closest family and friends have said they loved how she was able to capture us both as a couple and as individuals so well. They have also said they had learned things about us and our relationship that they didn’t even know prior to our ceremony. We would highly recommend hiring Mary if you’re looking to have a custom ceremony that you’ll never forget! -

From the very first conversation, to meeting with us at our hotel and sitting and chatting with us, to countless emails back and forth and she was always quick to respond, even when I had wedding brain and forgot to respond to her timely. For us the ceremony was very important, it was not just bringing me and my husband together but also creating a family and including my son as a big part of the day. Every single person commented on how amazing the ceremony was. If you have even a thought of using Mary, just use it. She is worth every single penny and then some. I could not even imagine how our wedding would have been without her! Mary thank you so much for everything. Rob, Eric and I are so grateful for you. -

We booked Mary as our officiant very early for our wedding because we knew immediately that we needed to have her write our ceremony. At our first meeting, Mary was beyond personable and we stayed and chatted with her for over an hour. Even if we booked Mary one year and a half before our wedding, she never delayed responding to our e-mails with kindness and all the information that we needed. She took the answers from our questionnaires and wrote the most beautiful ceremony. She also reviewed our handwritten vows, and reminded us to breathe and stay present the week of! I am so glad that she did. Because of her recommendations, I was able to stay completely calm and 100% present during our ceremony. Mary had guests laughing and crying at our ceremony and all night long we received compliments from guests about how much they loved the ceremony and were dying to know how we found Mary! So many guests approached us and said that it was the best ceremony they have ever been to and they loved hearing details about our relationship that they hadn't previously known! Booking Mary as our officiant was 100% the best decision we made for our wedding!!! Thank you so much, Mary!!!
