Just wow! Diana and Scott were able to help us out on very short notice, and we were so happy with the way things turned out! Easy to work with, responsive and a positive attitude about our event. We really got the feeling they cared about us, and how our party turned out for our family and friends. Being that there are two of them...the extra helping hands were wonderful! Diana even went so far as to refill drink dispensers and keep an eye on food, etc. without being asked. I know this is not expected of a DJ by any means, but it just shows their willingness to go above and beyond to help make the event a success. Would definitely recommend them for a wedding, large backyard party or any other event!Just wow! I will start by saying I would gladly give Scott and Diana McKinney two thumbs up for everything they did for us that special weekend. My wife Allison and myself (Tony) decided to have a destination wedding in the Rockies, traveling from Nashville Tennessee. Our first choice for the venue was the Snow Mountain Ranch, who gave us contact information for the Mckinneys and gave them a great reference. After starting to get everything in this crazy process started, Allison (who lined up 98% of our wedding celebration) knew with out a doubt we found the perfect Dj. They provided us with everything we needed to make sure their services were exactly what we wanted...... By the end of the night, Scott and Diane were practically part of our family. They went above and beyond their expectations to et us through the night. They kept the mood wonderful with great music and fun games! They helped with set up and tear down of the entire event, played some special songs at he end :), saved my sister in laws cup and mailed it home to us, and Diane even found the time to take some wonderful extra pictures of the whole night. They traveled for us, and even made their own weekend trip out of it. Trust us, if McKinney Entertainment is available, make life easier and bring them on board! You'll see what I mean, I promise!

McKinney Entertainment has done the sound and music for my business events and Galas since March 2004. That adds up to over 100 events, ranging in size from 50 to 300 people. I always receive complements about the quality of my events, and much of the credit goes to McKinney Entertainment for making me look good!
From first contact to event setup to teardown, McKinney Entertainment is professional and detail-oriented. The McKinneys are totally committed to the success of my event and to creating a high-quality experience for the audience.
Event planning is sometimes stressful, but working with McKinney Entertainment makes my job simple! Their years of experience and easy-going personalities handle any unexpected situations and smooth out any tensions. Both Diana and Scott are comfortable with a microphone in their hands, and they don’t hesitate if called upon to be an impromptu emcee. Diana’s extensive experience as an event planner means I can count on her to make sure things flow smoothly and the little details are taken care of while I am on the stage.
A small detail I really appreciate: Their dress and music is appropriate for whatever group I host, and I never worry about the playlist. Scott knows what my audiences like and his music is consistently perfect for the mood and the demographics of the room!

My husband and I used McKinney Entertainment for our wedding reception this past July and could not have been more pleased with the service we received! They were friendly and eager to answer any questions that we had. They also provided us with a flexible payment plan, which allowed us to better budget for our wedding overall. Their online portal is very helpful as well, as it allowed our guests and wedding party to request songs before the wedding. It also allowed my husband and I to organize what music we wanted for the important points in our reception (first dance, father/daughter etc). Scott was very professional during the wedding and many of our guests commented on the quality of the music! We were married in a historic hotel with some restrictions on what kinds of music and what sort of equipment could be used there, but it was no problem for Scott! The hotel even commented to us about how much they appreciated his flexibility and respect for the space.
McKinney Entertainment is the perfect service for couples who don't want that "DJ in the club" experience for their wedding: everything they provided for us was tasteful and, while Scott helped us keep events flowing, he was not over the top. He cared about our vision for the day and how we imagined music fit into it, not about attention for himself (which was the impression we got from some of the other DJs we talked to). He was able to get everyone onto the dance floor and even accommodated my mother and her friends, who had planned a flash-mob style choreographed dance for the reception without my knowledge. We cannot recommend them highly enough! I can't say enough about Diana. We recently got married and had an intimate gathering of our friends and family at the Twin Owls Steakhouse in Estes Park, Co. Although we were not having a typical "dance your socks off wedding" we wanted someone to be our "point person" to help greet guests as they arrive, collect gifts, coordinate with the venue host and other vendors, set up both indoor and outdoor sound, introduce our speeches, run a fun wedding game etc. There were many little details that my wife and I didn't want to worry about - and boy did Diana come through! She flourishes in the role of wedding coordinator if that's what you are looking for. She was professional (showed up to the event 3 hours early to prepare), courteous, and came to my wife and I with appropriate and timely questions related to the logistics of the night. I think the thing that impressed me most about her was that of all the vendors I met with she was BY FAR the most flexible and reasonable. She would met with us on multiple Sundays due to our inflexible schedules and was the only vendor that TRULY understood what it meant to plan a wedding on a budget, working with us on our package so we could afford her services. Without a doubt, if you are looking for an extremely skilled, professional and flexible wedding coordinator/MC, Diana and McKinney entertainment is the way to go!I can't say enough about Diana. Diana and Scott made magic happen! It made all the difference in the world to have them! They love what they do and really truly cared about us and our experience on that day and before. They go above and beyond from asking to personally know the immediate family, organizing games and entertainment for guests and so much more. They actually even helped me record my own song for walking down the isle and encouraged me when I was nervous! There 25 years of experience makes every detail and decision easier they thought of everything I hadnt. I will never do a big event without them!Diana and Scott made magic happen! Had to move the venue due to flooding in Estes Park, no problem they were very accommodating. The song list we gave him was played throughout the night. He even did a mix for the father daughter dance that was great. Had a great sound system that all worked with no issues. The microphones all worked all around the room. Scott and Diana are amazing! We had to move our venue two weeks before our wedding date due to flooding and Scott said he would be there no matter where we had it. He played all of the songs we requested and the dance floor was always full of guests. He created a mix for our father-daughter dance. He truly knows his music and keeps the reception fun and up-beat the entire time. He also supplied all of the sound equipment for the ceremony and microphones. Scott and Diana were great. Diana filled in at the venue when someone called in sick, and helped get the flow going after the ceremony. Since we didn't have to many songs that we had to have, we let Scott have free reign over the music, and he did a good job. Not only are they fantastic at what they do, from DJing to Master of Ceremonies to even snapping some of my most treasured photos, they are all around amazing people. My now husband and I didn't have to look at any other DJs after we met with the McKinneys. We loved their professionalism and fun demeanor. They worked with us on everything that we wanted and even let us throw in a surprise money dance that we never planned. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic DJ. My friends and family who attended raved about them, and said that I couldn't have picked a better DJ. Scott and Diana played our wedding and we were thrilled. We met with them prior to pick out music and ensure all the songs we wanted played would be at our wedding. My wife had a special song chosen for her dance with her dad. The night of the wedding they realized they didn't have that song with them and Diana ran to the store to buy it. What I loved about Scott was that he made the reception about us. So many DJ's take over and try to be the main attraction. Scott played the music we wanted to hear, he mixed songs well and was a wonderful host. Scott and Diana are consummate professionals - don't hesitate to hire them. BTW - our wedding was in 1999 but the site only let you go back as far as 2003 - so that isn't our true wedding date. McKinney Entertainment was great for our wedding. They worked really well with our venue, the McCreery House. My only disappointment was that the music stopped playing ~2 times while I was walking down the aisle. Other than that, they were great. I cannot apologize enough for this glitch. When we made the changes to the song as you requested we tested it twice and it worked fine. The day of your wedding we honestly have no idea why it didn't work. We did replace the player on the chance that it was going bad. Again, I am so sorry that your processional song stopped twice.
We are delighted that the rest of your wedding ceremony and reception went well and you were happy. P,S. You looked awesome in that dress. -

We booked Solid Sound for the evening before the wedding for karaoke. We had a great time with Scott. Diana joined Scott for the day of the wedding. Dj was just ok. Wife was supposed to be there as part of the package to help everything go smoothly, she never showed, instead the DJ had to keep leaving the stage to find us and ask questions. Music and sounds were great for the wedding but we picked it all out before hand. For the ceremony, we asked for help and recommendations for songs and they struggled to find good recommendations. We finally did more research on our own to find the songs because everything they suggested was not wedding ceremony material. Disapointed with what we paid and the services we got. A big marketing thing they used was that they have never missed an event but I guess they forgot about my wedding because the wife never showed and we paid for her to be there as well.Dj was just ok. We are terribly saddened to learn that Bryan and Brittney did not feel they could come to us with their concerns. We had no idea they were unhappy with Scott's service, especially since they had him play an hour of overtime.
It is not our policy to guarantee that two people will be at every wedding. Scott, the actual DJ, did not miss this event. Two people have attended past events because we like working together, not because it is guaranteed. We do not charge for a second person to attend and Brittney and Bryan did not pay extra to have a second person at their wedding ceremony and reception.
Any DJ worth his or her salt will leave the DJ booth/stage throughout the course of the event to touch bases with the couple. This is not an unusual circumstance.
Regarding the ceremony music, each couple is different. We have an excellent selection of standard ceremony music. We deeply apologize that Brittney and Bryan did not feel that our suggestions were wedding ceremony material.
Any couple that is unhappy with the service they receive from a wedding professional should contact that vendor and express their concerns. Sadly, Brittney and Bryan did not do that. As a result, Solid Sound Entertainment had no opportunity to provide any sort of remedy for their disappointment.
