  A great, professional DJ couple

  Northern Lights Entertainment went above and beyond to be there for us on our wedding day. They showed up early to set up audio for our ceremony, discussed details with the appropriate individuals, and helped MC the reception like the seasoned pros they are. We were able to meet Skip and Laurie for a brunch a few weeks or so before our big day to get introduced and review important details. This included our wants and not wants, their restrictions (profane music in family settings), and our schedule for the wedding. Meeting up with them before really helped us feel comfortable. It gave us peace of mind knowing our DJ/MC was very aware of what we wanted for the day, as well as when and where they were needed at all times throughout the day. On the day of our wedding, after showing up early to set up and get a lay of our venue, we were again comforted as I (the groom) was able to see everything they got ready for the evening well before we even got things going. The ceremony went by without any hiccups to audio, and after my beautiful bride and I walked down the aisle as a married couple, Skip played us out and instructed everyone there when and how to exit - as well as where to go for cocktail hour etc. Our intro in to the reception was fairly seamless. We had an issue where my bride's dress shoulder strap broke when I hugged her during our grand entrance. Skip saw us signal there was an issue as we walked out to get it handled, and he very smoothly transitioned in to a period of music while letting everyone know there was a slight wardrobe malfunction. We returned and he was right back in to it without missing a beat. It should be noted as well that our reception was a traditional Indian celebration which he was able to MC just as easily as any traditional western reception. Throughout the evening Skip was able to roll with the slight changes, issues, and overall flow of the night. We had a great time with our guests until we had to leave, and Northern Lights Entertainment provided a great atmosphere for the rest of the evening. We are incredibly grateful to Skip and Laurie and the DJ/MC services they provided us. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, experienced, and family friendly DJ/MC. Thanks again Skip and Laurie!!

  Perfect! I couldn’t of asked for a better couple to help with our big day!

  I loved the duo of husband and wife! They both were very sweet and professional! They made sure to pay attention to all the details and were flexible as things changed on our big day. They kept the vibe going throughout the night and Skip even came out and danced with us! I loved booking with Northern Lights Entertainment! I highly recommend them for your next event!

  Amazing DJ Service!!

  Skip did our 25th Wedding Anniversary party, and he was amazing!!! He took the time to chat with me on the phone about everything, and even offered to meet in person if we wanted to. He made sure to thoroughly explain his questionnaire, as well as make note regarding any type of music or artist we didn't want played.   Easy going and professional

  Skip and Laurie were wonderful to work with! We met several times in person to discuss music and the wedding day over coffee which ended up being a great time to get to know them! With all of the experience they brought to the table, our wedding day was kept on track and we didn't miss a beat! The music was great, everyone had a good time, we recommend Skip and Laurie for any event!

  Excellent!!!

  Skip and Laurie are so easy going and professional. Having them to talk to and bounce ideas off of was helpful! The flexibility and wisdom they have when it comes to weddings made our day smooth and enjoyable. Everyone wanted to know who our dj was and why he was the first onto the dance floor. Skip’s moves definitely encouraged our guests to get up and groove. Laurie behind the camera was awesome! She got all the best moments. Our friends and family are excited to see the footage of the wedding! We would definitely have Skip and Laurie DJ for us again, 10/10. Thank you!!

  Skip & Laurie were very friendly and professional from the beginning. We hired them because they were cheaper and had a nice add on package for a video. They recorded our ceremony, and our reception. It was so nice to go back and rewatch our special day! Skip will go over the top for you. You can email him a question at any time and he will usually reply pretty fast. My husband even called him a few times randomly and he answered. Skip will also get out on the dance floor with you! 😁 We had a lot of fun and would hire again! He works with you for anything you need or want. We even added his lights last minute! They are super easy going, and I'm so glad we picked Northern Lights Entertainment.

  Most Genuine DJ

  Skip and Laurie are the sweetest people you were ever met! We originally had a different DJ, but the cancelled on us 2 months ish before it’s wedding. I found Skip on wedding wire and my now husband and I met him and his wife for lunch to sit down and talk about pricing and what they had to offer. I am so grateful he had our date open! I was the most indecisive bride and he worked so well with me! Skip also helped me out with the time lining of my ceremony, because I had no idea what I was doing. He really knows how to keep everybody out on the dance floor! My guests complimented on how well our DJ was! I highly, highly recommend Skip to be a vendor at any wedding/event!

  Skip and Laurie were so excellent and helpful! They not only kept the party going, but they helped me plan my timeline. Skip always responded to emails within 30 minutes or less (more like 10 mins if we are being honest). He provides an extensive survey, so you can be very clear with what you want. Norhtern Lights Entertainment provides different packages, so you can get what you want even if you are on a budget. A separate videographer was not in the cards for us and Northern Lights offered us an affordable video option. Guest shared that they had fun, there was lots of dancing, and they did a great job keeping dinner moving. Little Tip: Be open to playing songs that may be on your do not play list! They were our most danced/most participation songs!

My wife (Brittany) had changed songs for the ceremony as well as the reception, many times and Skip was always understanding and a joy to work with. When were getting ready for our grand entrance to the reception, Skip quickly reviewed the plan for the evening and when songs were to be played. Brittany modified some items from what Skip had documented and he changed them willingly and said “hey, I said you could make changes day of, no worries, I got it!”. At the event, he talked with guest, with my
  Wife and I, and was all around a pleasure to have DJ our event. I cannot recommend him enough!

  We had a wonderful experience with Northern Lights Entertainment. They were able to do both our ceremony and reception which was very helpful. They sat down with us well before our wedding and gave us suggestions but were also super open to what we wanted to do. We had and outdoor ceremony and their services helped our guest to hear the ceremony better. They also provided music for the ceremony and helped my bridal party know when to start. The reception ran so smoothly because of their services. There were parts of the reception I didn’t know what songs to pick and they recommended some choices and they were exactly what we needed!! They also suggested how to do all the fun things (first dance, father/daughter dance, cake cutting) that weddings have but smoothly so we could get those important things out of the way and have fun dancing the rest of the night! Just when we thought they couldn’t possibly be anymore helpful Skip happened to be walking by when we were filling out our marriage license and helped us correctly fill it out (we definitely would have done it wrong!) I would definitely recommend this company for DJ services!!

  Seriously, hire skip. Him and his wife are two of the nicest people. Not only was their professionalism unparalleled they were supportive and helpful leading up to and after the wedding. I cannot say enough nice things!!!

  It started out so rough, we were ahead of schedule, my reception was outdoors AND IT WAS RAINING 😂 but thanks to Skip. Saved the day. Was both extremely flexible with scheduling/ timeline and did a fantastic job at getting/keeping the crowd going!! Even in the rain! 🌦️🤣
  Just overall amazing job! Well worth the money! And my entire family loved him! He fit right in! 💙

  Skip is awesome

  Skip and Laurie went above and beyond to make our wedding day awesome. They were involved in so many little details beyond just the music. They know Mackinac Island and Stone Cliffs and we enjoyed having them at the wedding.

  Wedding and reception

  Skip did an amazing job. Originally we just had him booked as our sound and DJ for the wedding and reception. We also had his wife do our videography. Two weeks before our wedding we found out our pastor could not do the ceremony do to the Covid-19 restrictions set out by his elders. Skip was so great about jumping into action to be our officiant as well! He immediately emailed us a couple different ceremony layouts he does and when we made some edits and sent it back he called to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. At our rehearsal he came prepared with a back up power block Incase there wasn’t power at our outdoor ceremony site. The wonderful day came and he even came dressed for the part (we had a Harry Potter themed wedding) with a house color tie and a few references to it in our ceremony. Everything flowed so well. Our reception was great, even with my family not being big dancers he was able to get some people up and dancing with some of the great tunes he had selected. Our videos turned out great and I can’t wait to be able to look back on those in the years to come! They also had a better rate than anyone else we got a quote from.

  Organized, Responsive, and Helpful

  We worked with Skip and Laurie for our July wedding this year (yes, in the midst of a hot sunny day and Covid-19). Skip was the wedding DJ and also helped us coordinate the wedding day. He was very organized, responsive, and helpful right from the beginning and throughout. On the wedding day, he arrived and setup at the venue well in advance. He also did a great job as the DJ and even lead the small group with the line dance every now and then! We are happy with our decision to work with Skip for our special day and would highly recommend him (and the team) to help with yours!

With the pandemic and unique situation leading up to our reception Skip was always responsive, kind and professional. I felt all the songs we wanted were accommodated and Skip had a talent for reading the crowd and knowing what to play to keep people dancing. He’s also a generally great MC and kept the flow for the evening. He also was able to play every request, which was nice because we’ve been to weddings where the DJ can’t find what guests are hoping for. We highly recommend Northern Lights Entertainment!

  Nothern Lights Entertainment - Extreme Satisfaction!!

  Amazing Wedding Services

  They were truly remarkable how well they worked with us. From the setup months prior to setting up day of, helping us control the chaos at the wedding itself. I would recommend Northern Lights Entertainment over and over again! We are truly blessed to have him at our wedding. I look at Skip as family now, again go to him for your wedding services.
