This review is a little late as we had our wedding here in September 2019 but we still wanted to get our review out. We couldn't have picked a better spot to have our wedding and every single detail about the day was absolutely perfect. John made sure that every thing we needed we had and every question we had was answered. If you are able to find a day to book and have your wedding here you will never regret it and will be very lucky to have this place be the place to spend your important day. Everything from setup in the morning to flow of the wedding and then cleanup at the end of the night was made so easy by John and his staff and helped made it a night we'll never forget. We are forever thankful for them for allowing us to spend our day there and if you get the opportunity please book with them!Riverside Receptions Etc's reply:

This is a breathtaking venue! It was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what we had pictured in our heads when looking for a venue. Lush and green and the pavilion was large enough to have everyone seated comfortably and still have a huge dance floor.

Beautiful venue and highly recommend
Venue is absolutely beautiful and everything you could want for an outdoor wedding! John is great to work with. Set up and tear down is seamless and John coordinates is with your vendors you bring in. The cabin you can rent on site is prefect for the groomsmen to get ready in prior to the wedding if needed. John is quick to respond to questions willing to let you come on site for whatever you need to help plan your wedding. Our way was absolutely perfect and the venue was gorgeous! We received so many compliments about how beautiful and amazing the grounds were. We would recommend this place over and over again for a wedding! John was great to work with. My spouse and Mother in law had done most of the work setting up the venue, but I got involved at the last minute because we had forgotten to send final payment. John was very understanding and responsive throughout the entire process. The property is absolutely perfect. I was a best man at this venue a few years ago as well and both times the staff was great to work with. Would highly recommend.Riverside Receptions Etc's reply:

Most beautiful fairytale forest land!
This venue is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. We wanted our wedding to have an aesthetic of Bilbo's 111th Birthday mixed with Jane Austen mixed with Mamma Mia. And this place was PERFECT. Getting married there in the summer was so magical- the light was glimmering through the trees and reflecting off the river for our ceremony and people's minds were blown. It's amazing because you have the whole place to yourself and can choose to get married by the river, up in the pavilion, or over by a waterfall... but your guests can then walk around and enjoy all of them! Seriously our guests said that when they first walked around the corner and the grounds were revealed to them, they took their breath away. The nature surrounding the area is beautifully curated, but still natural. It doesn't look like a golf course or a perfectly manicured lawn. The river and the trees are wildly beautiful. Not only that, but all of the other checkpoints we were looking for were met- we could bring in our own vendors, we could house 250+ guests, they provided all the tables and chairs and bar, and their indoor pavilion option was still open to the beautiful nature surrounding it, so that if it rained we weren't locked inside somewhere. This place was totally affordable and allowed us to have a big wedding in an affordable way. We didn't have any flowers or decorations other than simple centerpieces, and we didn't need them at all because you're literally surrounded by natural decor. For the ceremony itself we just used the gazebo by the river and had no extra decor down there, and once again it was totally fine because the landscape itself is more than enough.
John is a super nice Pure Michigan man who will respond to your emails immediately. Who could ask for more?? Also, on the day, I noticed him driving our elderly guests around on his golf cart- which wasn't even something I asked him to do, but he just saw that they needed it and stepped in! He also offers several options for beautiful lighting, tables, and chairs. Based on what your priorities are as a couple, he can help give you exactly what you're looking for.
There's also a super cute cabin on the property that you can rent. My parents rented it for the weekend with my Aunt and Uncle, so they were walking distance from the wedding! It was awesome.
We live in Chicago and it's about 2.5 hours from the venue. This was no biggie for our guests! They all stayed in either Three Rivers or Sturgis. If you go to visit this place, be aware that you're going to drive through some pretty basic Michigan farm land, and you might be thinking "Where is this place?" When you arrive, you'll park in what seems like a simple corn field. But then- when you walk around that pavilion and down the stairs overlooking the grounds, your mind will be blown. It's literally a fairytale forest. It's unreal. It sounds like I'm over-exaggerating but I'm very serious. Everyone should get married here!!!!!!Riverside Receptions Etc's reply:

This venue is a dream. My husband and I had a very complicated wedding, with a Hindu ceremony in the morning and a Christian ceremony in the afternoon, followed by a reception. The whole day had so many moving parts and so much back and forth. John was by far the most responsive person I worked with for this wedding and he did his absolute best to accommodate all of our needs and wants. Even after I mentioned that I wanted bistro lighting and wooden bars he made it happen for me. I am so, so appreciative of him and this gorgeous, magical space. The wedding was just a fairytale and our guests were in awe. The feedback we got most often was that it was the best wedding our guests had ever been to. We didn't have much of a problem with insects. It rained in the morning but we were able to sort it out relatively quickly and have a ceremony in the hall. The whole day was just absolutely stunning thanks to John. We HIGHLY recommend this space. It is a place that made our day so extremely special and we will cherish every bit of it for the rest of our lives.Riverside Receptions Etc's reply:

Becca Sent on 06/01/2018John and Pat were amazing to work with! After looking at 4 other venues, I feel that we got the best bang for our buck with choosing Riverside! Everything was very fairly priced but still had an elegant look to the whole venue! Very prompt with responding to any questions and always included plenty of insight on how people have done things in the past. The day of our wedding, there was 100% chance of rain. John knew that my husband and I really wanted to get married by the river so he was constantly checking the radar to make it happen! His team was outside setting up and tearing down in a very timely manner.
We also rented the cabin for the weekend. My Bridesmaids loved staying together in such a beautiful place - and so convenient since it's on the same property as the venue!
We received so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue was, and I couldn't agree more!Riverside Receptions Etc's reply:
