We booked Van Hoosen Farm right away after getting engaged. We fell in love with the beautiful grounds and the history behind the property. We had our ceremony outdoors at the gazebo. The event staff was so helpful and kind to us the entire process, helping us every step of the way from making sure we had we needed when we decorated the calf barn and setting up the chairs for the ceremony. We worked with Jenna from the beginning and she is amazing and made sure we were taken care of! Luckily on our wedding day the sun started to peek through the clouds once our ceremony started! Couldn’t be any happier with this place!

I married my wife in the gazebo at the Van Hoosen Farm and had a wonderful experience. That was 25 years ago. Stay with me here. You will find this historical site very charming with a caring professional staff that will do their best in making your day memorable. After 25 years I can attest this still to be true. Recently I surprised my wife with the renewal of our wedding vows at the Van Hoosen Farm and found the experience just as wonderful as the last 25 years. You owe it to yourself to check out the Van Hoosen Farm.

Van Hoosen Farm was the perfect place for our vintage/ rustic wedding. The ceremony was held creek side and it was beautiful. We loved the smell and the sound of the creek. It could not have been a better day. The weather was perfect! Our ceremony was everything we dreamed of. Our reception was held in the calf barn and was awesome. Our guests raved about how cool they thought everything was at Van Hoosen. Sue Thomasson was wonderful to work with throughout the whole planning process and on the day of the wedding. She was always so accommodating and helpful. I could not think of a better place to have a wedding!

I had my ceremony here outside at the gazebo and it was amazing. The location is great, the grounds are kept up, and the staff are very helpful and coordinate everything the day of the wedding. Couldn't ask for a better place to get married!

We had the best wedding and reception at the Van Hoosen Museum! The sound and view of the river running by in the background was beautiful, the staff was extremely accommodating, and the location was great.

I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an outdoor setting, although now they do indoor receptions and ceremonies in their new calf barn, too!

This was an amazing place to get married. We had the choice of indoor or outdoor for the ceremony. We had indoor due to the weather and the staff made sure that all of our guests were able to see the ceremony. The ground make for some beautiful pictures with many different options. The staff was very helpful throughout the whole process and helped to make our day perfect! I would highly recommend this venue!

We were so lucky that we were able to have our ceremony outside at the gazebo on the grounds at the Van Hoosen Farm, it was just beautiful...with Stoney Creek flowing in the background; the sun shining, not too hot, not too cold, not windy, the lovely flowers hanging at the gazebo! Sue at the Museum was friendly and responsive and so helpful when it come to the rehearsal and at the ceremony and making sure our family and friends knew where to be and where to go! It couldn't have been more beautiful! Thank You!

Vanhoosen ended up accommodating us really well. They let us change our ceremony time to earlier and come in earlier for pictures. My coordinator Vanessa was really helpful in setting things up for the rehearsal and the day of. The gazebo was decorated in fresh hanging baskets and looked lovely.

We originally chose this venue because we wanted a place that was affordable, rustic, and allowed us to do our own thing and be unique. Only our reception was held there, but we had full use of the grounds for the duration of the day. Since it is owned by the county, we were allowed more flexibility like being able to choose our own vendors and come in the day before to decorate. The best part is that we still had air conditioning inside, running water, and the museum stayed open for our guests to walk through. Jenna (the wedding coordinator) only works there part time as the museum is only open two days a week, but they were all very helpful and just a call away. The caterers need to be self sufficient as there isn't a kitchen, and it gets cozy when you get close to the capacity of 150 people. The property is beautiful and well kept, and the barn is a slightly modernized, open space. There are some decorating restrictions on how to hang things or candles with flames, but these were small things to get around. Overall, it ended up being just what we needed!

Van Hoosen Farm is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding. Beautiful in every way, an ideal spot for fabulous pictures. The staff were totally lovely, professional and lovely. They made everything easy from booking their venue to the coordination of our day. I would highly recommend this spot!!

This venue is perfect as long as you keep it EXTREMELY SIMPLE!! My wedding day was a disaster. We hired a tent company to put up a big tent with lights under it outside and the Dance floor under that. Because it was a smaller venue we wanted things outside as well as inside the barn. Well the venue was aware of this but ended up not informing me that I needed to get a permit with the city until three days before the wedding. It was horrible and they made us take all the lights down and we had to get another permit because we were using to much electricity outside. It all got approved 15 min before the ceremony started and cost a extra 2,000 after we bought everything for the permit, plus a bunch of stuff to keep us up to code to get the permit approved. We tried serving appetizers outside and wasn't aloud by the city to do that either. The venue was picky and bossy about everything they wanted cleaned up by 11 pm the night of the wedding and you can only start the wedding at 5. I was told the wedding ended at 11 not that we had to leave and clean up everything by then. The house they let you stay in before your ceremony is only available to you a hour before your ceromony, so if your there any sooner for pictures (because it's gorgeous venue) you have to wait outside in the hot sun. When I did go in the house a old lady giving to little boys a tour, yield at me for talking to loud!!! (It was my wedding day and I paid to be here!!).
It was a hot mess with all the rules they wipped out days before the wedding. It was hard and sad at times to be treated like a bothersome.
