  Sun Beauty Studio

  I was looking for a hair and make up artist for my wedding. My friend referred Ashley to me. She patiently answered all my questions. I opted to do a trial, which was extra, but it was worth it. I was very much satisfied with her work. Ashley was thorough and she did an amazing job with my hair and make up for my wedding. I received a lot of compliments from friends and relatives! Ashley is knowledgeable and took her time to do the job properly. She and her team was able to accommodate me, my bridesmaids, and moms.

  Amazing Makeup Artist

  Sun Beauty Studio was recommended to me by a friend who had gotten her wedding hair & makeup done by Ashley and I couldn't be happier! Ashley and her team were amazing and super talented. Ashley was responsive and communicative which made the whole process a breeze. My wedding day hair and makeup looked amazing and stayed on all day and night. I would definitely recommend Ashley for your big day!

  Great services from an awesome vendor!

  Ashley made the process super easy from initial inquiries to the wedding day. I had to plan it from out of state, but she made it easy and smooth! She is a very kind and sweet person to work with.
  
  I have never used make up or know the different products used. But I knew I wanted to look natural and do a half hair updo with braids. During our trial appt, she helped determine what colors looked best and also the hairstyle too.
  She is open to requests but also provides feedback to ensure you look your best in the end - which is what I appreciated.
  
  I requested additional hair and make up services for 2 bridesmaids and my mother. Ashley and her assistant arrived early and everyone was done on time.
  I had my make up done early in the morning and the wedding wasn’t until the afternoon. I rarely had to do any touch ups until the wedding started. I didn’t even need to do touch ups after dinner.
  I received a lot of compliments from guests regarding both hair and make up!
  I really loved how my hair and make up turned out.
  Her pricing also worked well with my budget.
  I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs both hair and make up services!

  Highly recommend!

  Ashley was amazing at doing my wedding hair and makeup! She was very professional, arrived on time, communicated well, and took into consideration my feedback. She is also very talented and the two other HMUA she brought with her were also amazing! I went with a more glam look but she can do more minimal looks as well! It also helped that she can speak Chinese to communicate with my mother-in-law who is more comfortable speaking Chinese. Her service fee is also very reasonable. I would highly recommend her!

  With only four months to plan a wedding and barely any familiarity with professional makeup artists, I was so incredibly fortunate to find Ashley via Alist Makeup. We communicated over email to dial in a contract that I was happy with. Due to budget concerns, I decided not to opt for a trial. I was worried that it would be difficult to communicate my vision over email, but Ashley knew exactly how to sort through my images and just what questions to ask to focus in on the particular elements of each. On the day of the wedding, despite the stress of my bridesmaids arriving late, Ashley and her assistant (who did the makeup for my 4 bridesmaids) brought chill and relaxed vibes; the process really did feel like pampering. I was very pleased with my final look, especially with my hair. The makeup looked radiant in all different lighting setups and no one even knew that I had woken up that morning with a surprise pimple on my chin! I would definitely recommend Ashley's services.

  Beautiful hair and makeup

  I got in touch with Ashley for a makeup and hair trial and it was amazing! She did not need too much explanation but she understood exactly how I wanted to look and she gave me tips etc. On the wedding day it also looked amazing and the makeup stayed good for the whole day! I would love to have Ashley do my hair and makeup again in the future if I have a fancy event going on :)

  I had a great time with Ashley and she is very knowledgeable, personable and helpful! I sent her photos ahead of time of how I want my hair and makeup. I told her I don't typically wear makeup and will want a seamless natural look. We had light conversation as she was applying the makeup. In between, she asked me for my preferences so I'm involved in the decision making for my look. She gave me tips along the way as well such as how to best take off the lashes and makeup, in addition to using a moisturizing mask at night to hydrate my typically dry skin which will go through more drying when I take off the makeup.
  
  I loved the hair tip to place a cushion between my back and the car seat since my hair had volume in the back and we don't want to squish it in transit. She gave me a heads up on what to expect with the makeup and hair over the course of the day so I'm not surprised.
  
  The makeup and hair looked great in my photo shoot. Excellent and professional service, highly recommend!

  I can’t say thank you enough to Ashley. She is so flexible and easygoing. I did my makeup and hair trial couple months before my wedding but then changed my mind after I saw more instagram photos. Ashley was able to squeezed in another trial session last minute in peak wedding season and made multiple styles to help me down select my final look. I had 7 bridesmaids and my mom for make up service. Ashley’s team were so capable. Every bridesmaids hair and make up is gorgeous. Highly recommended!!

  Engagement and Wedding Day!

  The best hair/makeup stylist for wedding

  Ashley did my make hair and make up for my wedding. She was so easy to work with and very friendly. Also since I have an asian face some artist doest do a good job, but Ashley knows all the trick. I love working with her. My make up stayed on all day and night. It didnt feel heavy at all on my face. It was so natural and I love it. All the guests love how my hair looked.

  Ashley did my makeup for my wedding in March 2022! Her responsiveness and flexibility was amazing with the email exchanges and changes that I wanted to my make up and hair! I don’t like heavy makeup and she did a wonderful job doing as requested! The results were jaw dropping gorgeous! I would have her do my hair and make up again!

  I planned my wedding in California from New York. I wanted to hire local small Asian businesses too. Also I rarely do my makeup or hairstyling ever. And when I told my bridesmaids I’m going to do my own hair and makeup they were horrified.
  So crunch time came and I contacted Ashley for a trial (which I super recommend be because it gives you less anxiousness on the wedding day).She was super flexible and competent, told me what to do with my face the day of the wedding, and voila. I got so many complements on my hair and makeup. She really listened to what I wanted and made it look even better. The makeup and hair lasted all day. She gave me a touch up kit but I didn’t even have to use it.

  It was such a pleasure working with Ashley! She is very personable and easygoing, and because of that, I felt very confident the day of my wedding. I love that she focused on the details and was able to accomplish a glamorous yet natural makeup look. I love looking back on my photos and am so thankful for Ashley’s help and talent!

  Flexible, affordable, and so easy to work with!

  Ashley and her team did my wedding makeup and my family‘s makeup for my small wedding ceremony. I had booked her for a bigger wedding back in 2020, but the pandemic hit and we had to cancel/postpone that wedding. Luckily, Ashley understood the situation and was flexible enough to reschedule and accommodate us. She’s very skilled and good at letting you know the difference in how much makeup will show/photograph beautifully (because I definitely am not used to wearing makeup and almost always opt for less— but I learned from her that for weddings and events, makeup needs to be a little bit more to last/show in pictures!).
  
  She also coordinated and arranged for assistants to help with my family’s makeup and was so easy to communicate with via email. Despite many changes that had to be made in the amount of services needed, she always responded and made adjustments with no issues. I felt like she listened to the makeup and hairstyle that I wanted and I know I definitely felt beautiful on my wedding day. Thanks again Ashley and team!

She’s very skilled and good at letting you know the difference in how much makeup will show/photograph beautifully (because I definitely am not used to wearing makeup and almost always opt for less— but I learned from her that for weddings and events, makeup needs to be a little bit more to last/show in pictures!).
  
  She also coordinated and arranged for assistants to help with my family’s makeup and was so easy to communicate with via email. Despite many changes that had to be made in the amount of services needed, she always responded and made adjustments with no issues. I felt like she listened to the makeup and hairstyle that I wanted and I know I definitely felt beautiful on my wedding day. Thanks again Ashley and team!

  I booked Ashley for a bridal hair and makeup trial as well as the bridal hair and makeup for the day of the wedding. Ashley was responsive, accommodating and very easy to speak to. While she helped me figure out how I wanted to look for the my special day, we connected on our love for our fur babies and she maintained a professional demeanor while completely putting my bridesmaids and I at ease as we prepared for the busy day ahead.
  My hair and makeup look for the day of ended up being pretty different from the bridal hair and makeup from the trial because I had decided that I didn't really want what I initially had imagined through the trial. Ashley took all my notes and feedback into consideration and really nailed it for the wedding day. Her and her team showed up perfectly on time and were ready to hit the ground running.   Very happy with my experience with Ashley! She did both my hair and makeup on my wedding day, and she even did my makeup and hair for my sister’s wedding four years prior.
  I opted for the 3 hour bridal package, and Ashley was kind enough to provide a touch up kit for the remainder of my wedding day; which I needed minimal touch ups even in a 85 degrees outdoor wedding!
  My bridal party also had their makeup done by Ashley’s team and every single one of them loved their hair and makeup!

  I love the makeup Ashley did for me for my tea ceremony! I received tons of compliments, and the makeup lasted very well. I have dry skin and Ashley managed it very well. My skin had a natural glow throughout the day. The updo was very nice too and went great with my qipao.

I had a trial with her which was excellent and she had really great suggestions to make when I went to the trial blankly with no idea what I'd want to look like. From there, she took all my suggestions to heart and I've never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day! She brought another artist as an assistant to work on my friends/moms during the day and spent the whole time on me.   Ashley was very professional in helping me and girls get ready for a gala in the city. She transformed how we look in a short amount of time and we loved her work! You can go to her office for the makeup, but she can also comes to your place and she charges a reasonable transportation fee. I would totally recommend Ashely for any makeup/hairstyle for your big day!
