June Wedding
My daughter’s wedding at The Taylor Estate last weekend was wonderful!! What an amazing day!! Working with Elisabeth Taylor at the venue was a pleasure!! She could not have been more accommodating!
We used the Taylor Estate for the rehearsal dinner Friday night (in the Pavilion across the lake), for the bridesmaids brunch Saturday morning, (on the terrace, under the porte cochere at The Lodge), for the wedding Saturday afternoon at 4:30, (on the lawn by the lake in front of the arbor) and we had the wedding reception in The Lodge. The Taylor Estate is definitely and “all in” venue and it could not have been more perfect.
The Lodge is a pine log building that is perfect for an event with a “rustic elegant” feel. It is new and beautiful and easily accommodated our 200 guests for appetizers, a buffet dinner and dancing. It is much more “elegant” than “rustic.” We loved the venue!!
Elisabeth is wonderful! She first met with us to introduce us to the Taylor Estate. We were impressed by the beauty of The Lodge, the lawn and the lake. The kitchen is large and easy for a caterer to work in. There is a lovely bride’s room with great lighting and mirrors and attractive seating. There is a groom’s room with a game table. The Lodge has a lovely fireplace at one end of the room and a handsome set of barn doors at the other end.
Elizabeth met with us again, to meet our caterer, who had not yet worked at The Taylor Estate and wanted to see the kitchen facilities. In the meantime, Elisabeth was available by phone and email.
We “did” the flowers ourselves and Elisabeth was very accommodation regarding our use of the kitchen for our prep work.
My daughter wanted to hang a sunflower wreath in front of the barn doors. Nothing had yet been installed there, as the Lodge had only opened 6 months earlier. Elisabeth had an assistant install a hook and then hang the wreath for us. It looked lovely! She also asked her assistant to install screws above the front doors for our entry garland and badges. An assistant also hung another wreath over the fireplace. Her assistant also was very patient as we decided on the perfect spot to place the arbor for the wedding. Really, everyone at the Taylor Estate was a pleasure to work with.
Elisabeth was at the venue all day on Saturday, helping prepare things for the reception.
The Taylor Estate owns some great looking candle lanterns, which are available to guests. We used them on half of the tables and vases of flowers on the other half of the tables. We thought that the Lodge looked lovely.
We engaged a D.J. for the music. There are great facilities there to “make the is happen.”
We had “entertainment” for the children who were at the wedding – Ladder Toss on the green space in front of the Lodge on one side and Corn Hole on the other. A good time was had by all!!
Please pardon this long review, but I just can’t say enough Good Things about the Taylor Estate. It is a fantastic, beautiful venue and Elisabeth Taylor is a seasoned professional whose goal was to do all she could to help us make wonderful memories. And she succeeded!! Thank you, Elisabeth!!! It was perfect!
