    Love this venue!

    We had a wonderful wedding experience at The Barn at Back Acres. Mary Beth was super helpful in answering any questions that arose and they were flexible given that my husband and I were planning our wedding from out of state. I also really love the decor closet and taking advantage of the free to use decor for our event.

    Great experience!

    The team at the Barn at Back Acres was wonderful to work with. Mary Beth is very organized which significantly helps me as a Month of Coordinator. She was timely in all her responses and went above and beyond to accommodate an unforeseen parking situation due to weather conditions. Her staff and day of team were phenomenal; attentive to the bride and grooms wants and needs, flexible to accommodate necessary changes, and overall just friendly, polite, and easy to work with. The facilities and amenities are clean and well maintained. Thanks for a great experience at your property!

    Book this venue!

    We had the most incredible experience with this venue for our October 2019 wedding. It is affordable, BEAUTIFUL, and seamlessly ran. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like or felt like I was missing for our big day. The support from the owner/staff is remarkable and consistent through every stage of planning. They make everything so much easier and almost thoughtless. They have a great selection of vendors for you to choose from who have worked weddings there time and time again and that makes things even easier. I cannot stop recommending this venue. The amount of compliments we received all night is priceless. Book this venue as soon as you can— you will not regret it.

    Wish I was still at the barn!

    This venue is magical!! I cannot stop reminiscing on how perfect everything was. Everything ran so smoothly (at least from the brides perspective) which I am sure there was a bunch going on behind the scenes that I didn't even know about! Mary Beth was so accommodating throughout the entire process. The is just something so unforgettable about this venue, I am so so so happy with my decision to have my wedding here. It was perfect and I wish I could relive it every single weekend.

    Dream Wedding!

    I knew from the moment we pulled up the property in late October for our tour this was where I had to get married!! I do not have enough words for how truly perfect and amazing our experience was working with The Barn at Back Acres Farm and staff. Not only is the venue exactly what we were looking for, but everyone went above and beyond to make our entire experience from start to finish great! It truly feels like you're working with people you've known forever. Mary Beth is very responsive and made this part of wedding planning easy and effortless!!
    Something we really loved was their option to utilize their inventory of decor. Weddings are expensive to begin with and decor can be so pricey, so I thought it was an amazing option to offer. We could also choose from a few different locations on the property to have our ceremony. The property is gorgeous so this was awesome!
    We utilized their vendors tab to find a DJ company (SoPrimeEntertainment) and used Celebration on Wells from their catering options. Both were amazing and easy to work with as well. The DJ had everyone dancing the entire time and the food was great!!
    Our wedding was more than perfect and I cannot thank Mary Beth and her staff ENOUGH for making this day so special for us! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for their perfect barn wedding and would give them way more stars than it allows me to for this review!

    We had our wedding at this venue and it couldn't have been more perfect! The venue itself is gorgeous and romantic. The owners, Mary Beth and her family, are very accomodating and helpful! This venue is very charming and I highly recommend getting married here!

    We had a great experience with the Barn at Back Acres. It was a great value compared to the other 5 barns and outdoor venues we looked at. Mary Beth was very accommodating and hospitable. The Barn offers a lot of complimentary decorations such as wine barrels, an arbor, and antique chests.

    A big plus was the new bathrooms on the first floor of the barn. The other barn venues we visited required rental porta potties.

    There are several locations for your ceremony site and seating options (hay bails, wooden chairs, wooden planks).

    If you're looking for a barn wedding venue at a great value, we'd highly recommend the Barn at Back Acres.

    One of the best weddings I have ever attended took place at this barn! The wedding ceremony was at sunset between two huge trees. The lighting was breathtaking and the whole scene was incredibly romantic. After the ceremony the barn was the perfect place to eat, celebrate & dance! The barn was charming and rustic, but still had the comforts of home. Some friends and I camped out in the yard. I appreciated this fun and affordable option for guests. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding and wish it was available when I got married!

    This was the perfect venue for a wedding. Beautiful barn and grounds. The owners were awesome to work with! Thanks for being a part of making the wedding a wonderful memory.

    One of my favorite weddings EVER! I attended my very good friends wedding here. They had their wedding ceremony and reception here. It was such a fabulous venue to use! The whole day felt very relaxed as we moved from one space to another, carrying the joyous feelings from the wedding under the tree into an immediate cocktail hour outside the barn, and then into the elegance of the barn for dinner and dancing. The vibe of the farm made everything feel intimate and like we were all family members that day. I would definitely recommend this venue to any and all!

    This venue was so much magic!! I attended a wedding here as a guest and honestly have never been more charmed. The setting was idyllic, the venue held a lot of people while still feeling intimate and there were seemingly unending small pockets for zoned experiences like roasting marshmallows to a separate space for the ceremony to an ice cream sandwich cart. The wedding is now legendary in our friend group - and in no small part to the venue providing so much ambiance and personality!

    We just had our wedding here and it was stunning! There are some pretty areas around the barn filled with flowers for picture backdrops. Strings of sparkling lights wrap around the beams in the barn. There is a cross breeze so if it's not over crowded, it's comfortable. The owners supply the bar, clean white chairs and tables and lots of vintage items to create a beautiful, rustic atmosphere. Even the new bathrooms are modern yet beautifully rustic. We had an outdoor ceremony at sunset and sat on wood planks over hay bales. It was unique, surprisingly comfortable and pretty. A pergola and long white swag is available to use over the bride and groom, but we used a white camping canopy with mosquito netting that looked like sheers instead. They supply almost everything you need, except centerpieces.

    One rule is you can't use candles in the barn as it's listed in the historical registry (it's over 150 years old) which is why this barn is cooler than the other barn venues. So we used LED lanterns as centerpieces which looked even cuter.

    Booking the venue was low stress and easy and Mary Beth (the owner) is very organized. She also kept me posted on any changes to the venue that might affect our wedding day (like rain damaging some hay bales).

    Throughout the process Mary Beth was very helpful. For example, when I mentioned that the bride loved sheep, she put me in contact with a nearby farm that had sheep. I'm looking forward to seeing those pictures!

    It would be a good idea to thoroughly read the contract. Make sure you are OK with the rules and expectations. Share that document with your florist, caterer etc. and all should go smoothly.

    The beauty and mood of the venue (especially once set up for the wedding), exceeded our expectations. Our guests loved it. We felt it was a great value. We recommend this venue without any reservations.

    As a caterer who has been going to different venues for over 30 years this is the first time i am posting any sort of comment.
    I was at the Barn 3 times The first time everyone was wonderful with a lets make this a great event attitude.

    The Second time was with my banquet captain to go over details. The Owners changed my setup. We were scheduled to have a BBQ at the reception. We were now supposed to grill in the back of the barn so there was no WOW factor for the Grilling. At that meeting I was told it was against the rules to grill in front of the barn.

    When i asked if we could put plywood under the Grill to keep the WOW factor. I was told as I would tell my child. What part of NO did you not understand!! I didn't say anything and i left

    The day of the Wedding we set up and kept the grill in the back the Venu was beautiful all set ups that the Barn was responsible for were done perfectly. We had a great event! We broke down the kitchen space cleaned up our equipment and left.

    The catering staff left leaving one person to break down coffee station.
    When I spoke with the Client I was shocked. The Mother of the Bride the Father of the Bride and several close friends were cleaning up the barn space. and scrubbing floors to get rid of stains of drinks poured on floors.

    Beware that the guest and the caterer see rules of the venue before you sign with the venue.

    Be Warned so your not surprised like we wore !!!!

    From the start MaryBeth was very unpleasant to work with. She was not polite, kind, or responsive as you would expect for such a happy occasion. We felt as if we were bothering her with every phone call and question. The property is very beautiful and an amazing venue, but dealing with MaryBeth ruined the experience of having our wedding at The Barn. When we came by the day before for rehearsal and to finalize the floor plan, she was very rude, cold, and was not helpful. When we asked her questions for her opinion about where to place things for the floor plan, she would respond, “I don’t care, it’s your wedding.” When we were still at the venue discussing some logistics, she left and went into the house and did not even say goodbye or ask if we needed anything else. We were not aware MaryBeth was not going to be in attendance to coordinate on the day of the wedding until the actual day of the wedding. We met the coordinator the day of the wedding. MaryBeth states the Barn can hold 200 guests, but at 130 people we were extremely crowded. We had Harry Potter style seating with 4 long rows of tables and there was no space in between the tables, even though she stated that by math properties, the long tables would fit much better than round because the barn is rectangle. The waitresses could not serve people appropriately because of the set up. We made the itinerary and floor plan ahead of time, but she kept asking questions about things that we had already answered. She did not have the itinerary or floor plan printed out for all parties to be on the same page. The Barn did not have industrial fans, only a few small white household fans for a venue without air conditioning. There was a lot of confusion about the linens for the tables. The new coordinator that we met the day of the wedding asked us to set up the linens ourselves. She stated she was not responsible for setting up the linens. The florist needed to set up the flowers on the tables and if we had not set up the linens ourselves, there would not have been linen on the tables. Then at the end of the evening, the coordinator asked what we were doing with the linens and when we were going to take them off the tables. We think that the bride and groom, their family, or friends should not be responsible for setting up and/or taking down linens. The next day, we could not find the brides bouquet, so we texted MaryBeth to see if by chance she saw it left behind. She stated that everything was discarded and how would she know it was the bride’s bouquet. There was only 2 bridesmaids and the bride, so a total of 3 bouquets, so not a challenge to see if there was a bouquet left behind. She stated she would look through the garbage after her showings, but never responded. For being in the wedding industry dealing with one of the happiest days of people’s lives, MaryBeth makes the whole process during planning and coordinating a miserable experience. She does not seem happy to be in the business of weddings. If you really have your heart set on the Barn as your venue, just be aware the experience will come with a cost of your patience and happiness. You sign a contract with her and put a deposit, then you realize what a challenge she is going to be to deal with and that you will lose your deposit if you want to back out. For the amount of money you pay for the Barn, there was a lot to be desired for the experience and amenities.

    We’re so sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. That’s something we never want to happen! Leading up to any wedding, we know there will be lots of questions that pop up and details to sort out - and we are always happy to help, staying in close contact with couples and their vendors. Due to the pandemic, many weddings like yours were pushed back, and we understand that remembering a venue and its policies from one year ago, let alone two, would be impossible for anyone. To help get everyone on the same page, we ask couples to review the terms and conditions again and also to share them with family, the wedding planner, and wedding party. It’s not the most fun task, but it really does help the day go smoothly, especially when it comes to those pesky but important details like linens (we unfortunately don’t have the capacity to provide linens and remind couples to work with their caterer on that), working with our extremely capable and trusted venue managers on the day of your wedding, air conditioning (we unfortunately can’t provide it due to county restrictions on historical barns and ask couples to bring their own fans), and end of night clean up (we’d hate for anything important like a bridal bouquet to be left behind!). We very much wish we could have worked with you to resolve your frustrations before the big day, but we appreciate any feedback that will help us do better for our couples. We wish you all the best going forward.
