    Growing up in Lexington, Michigan. I was not even aware that the Good Thymes Barn existed. I was invited to a friend's wedding and was blown away. What a beautiful venue. The barn is just gorgeous. The Food was amazing and the music was pleasant. The service provided by the Good Thymes Barn was top notch. The Bartender was the best I have ever experienced at a reception. She handled the entire crowd without being overwhelmed and treated each person with kindness and quick service. I have two nieces getting married in the near future and I am pushing for them to book with Connie. She was kind and so thoughtful to the guests. Can't say enough good things about

    I was a attendant at my friend's wedding in August 2014 and what a beautiful place to have a wedding and reception. The grounds were like a park and so well groomed. The hall was just beautiful from the atmosphere to the gorgeous antique like chairs and beautiful dance floor. I have been to a lot of weddings over the years and I have never seen such care taken to give such great service. Connie and her staff went out of her way for my friend's wedding and made her day very special.

    Connie was so kind and helpful her staff was amazing. My daughter's wedding was beautiful and Connie went above and beyond for us. Thank you so much for making her day a beautiful memory.God Bless, Lisa Hickman.

    We had a wonderful experience. Connie was a pleasure to work with and everything was clean, and professional. The staff was great also! We had the Peck Prom at the Good Tymes Barn and everythign turned out as planned! Thank you Connie for everything.

    Not sure what the negative reviews are all about. Connie informed me that those 3 reviews were from one person who was mad because they wanted to reserve the barn but Connie could not reach them by phone and she was forced to give the dates to someone else. From our experience, The Good Tymes Barn is a great place an event. Good Tymes barn is a popular place and is completely booked for 2014. Don't believe everything you hear.

    I am surprised at the negative reviews here about Good Thymes Barn. Connie is a very hard working woman ,whom has put a lot of heart and soul into creating the perfect wedding location. I am appalled that people can make accusations without having proof to back them up. There are two sides to every story and unfortunately only one is being heard. For those of you looking for a wedding venue, consider The Good Thymes Barn, it's beautiful and very accommodating .

    Perfection

    We were married and had our reception here in 2009, and everyone (including us) had a great time and loved it - we enjoyed it so much we're going back this year and booked a 10 year anniversary barn dance! Beautiful barn, Connie was a joy to work with, and everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back.

    My husband and I attend my friend Bree's wedding last weekend at the Good Thymes Barn. What a beautiful venue. We were both amazed how well this venue is ran. Everything was perfect. The owner has a perfect team at this venue. We were greeted in the driveway by an extremely polite young man who assisted us in parking our vehicle. The bartender was amazing. She had our drinks mixing as we approached. She really appears to enjoy her job. The security that was in place was very friendly. I was also tdld that the cater needed wrappings left overs and he ran to home to provide what wax needed. What a great team in place. Thank you Good Thymes Barn. I will be letting everyone know this Venue is a perfect place for a reception!

    I am really appalled by the negative comments about the Good Tymes Barn. Our School just had our Junior/Senior Prom there and it was wonderful! I was lucky that I was asked to be a chaperone! Connie went above and beyond to help us out. She saved the class money by giving them different ideas for a background for their pictures, and they turned out beautiful! Then when the D.J. didn't show up, Connie stepped right in. She played music for us until our backup got there. During the event she was checking to see if there was anything else we needed. She takes pride in her barn and it shows! It is absolutely gorgeous! I have been there for a couple of other events and have never been disappointed yet. It is just sad that some people have so much negativity in their life, and try to pass it on to others. Thank you Connie for giving the Peck Junior/Senior Prom a night of great memories!!

    Beautiful location. Unique venue. Good Value. Had lots of fun and memories forever. We had our wedding and reception here in an old fashion barn that has been beautifully refurbished. Wonderful setting with many old fashion family fun onsite (small working farm with animals) and in nearby towns.

    Had a few minor problems that were partly due to a confusing chain of events. Most were resolved in a good matter. Overall had a good experience. Great place for a unique, happy, pretty, family fun.

    We had a separate DJ that did the reception music, but Good Tymes Barn played a CD of our choosing for ceremony music.

    If you're looking for a unique, country, fun atmosphere this place had it all for us. We minimally decorated because of it's charm with low, romantic lighting refurbished barn wood, beautiful wood tables, and chairs. Lots of atmosphere and locations for photographs. Well run with an awesome bartender on staff, security and parking attendants. Owner knows how to run the show, lots of experience, and everything ran smoothly for us....if you want to have a great time use Good Tymes barn!!

    Connie is very opinionated and will "recommend" having your wedding a certain way (yes, she's been doing this for a while so knows what works well, but she has a way of making you feel dumb for your ideas if you share them and they're different than what she would want). We did not enjoy working with her on the wedding stuff but she was cordial in other matters. She wasn't very understanding when we had to switch things up and we lost a lot of money. Not necessarily her fault, as she is a hard-line business woman, but know that she will not bend if you fall on hard times or need to change things.

    The barn is great for a wedding, the owner however needs to be in a different profession as she clearly should not be anywhere near the public. she is over bearing and tries to sneak money out of you, going back on what she says. she is rude to guests and single handedly tries to control EVERYTHING. she even went around distributing lids and straws (intended for small children) to the grown adults for their beer because she didnt want them to spill. All of my vendors came to me in complaint. During my dinner, just as i sat down, she approached me asking if her and her staff could eat with us. From her apparel to her interaction she is unprofessional and will find a way to ensure you do not have a good time.

    Refuses to pay back deposit

    We had to cancel our wedding within less than a month of booking. The owner refuses to acknowledge our email regarding giving us a refund on our deposit. When you are small business owner in a small town word gets around. The bad reviews are far more telling then the positive reviews with the owner. Stay far away. A control freak who only wants your money and wish I would of read the reviews sooner.

    Beautiful place - bad owner

    I should have listened too all the reviews before I even ATTEMPTED to contact this place. I have been emailing them for almost a month with NO ANSWER. Finally I decided to call today. 'Connie' picked up the phone, was extremely rude and short with me. I let her know that I have been emailing them and getting no response, so she replies "That's because I haven't checked them." Oh that's great for business! I asked a few more questions and got sick of her attitude so I hung up. Don't waste your time.

    Barn and outdoor setting beautiful for a wedding. The venue owner, Connie, was however a different story. Connie was rude and unprofessional the entire evening to our guests and outside vendors (DJ/Photographer). She back-peddled on items which had previously been agreed upon, yelled at people, took away water bottles so she didn't have to clean her yard, and overall did her best to make the evening miserable. Our DJ informed me mid-evening that his company will never play this venue again due to her behavior. Connie seemed to feel this was her event and she could call all the shots, even down to where to put your cake and food and it didn't matter what we, the renting party, wanted for our wedding/reception if it didn't fit into her mental plans. She created problems with parking, music, and people. On top of the problems she ran around the entire evening in her cut off dirty sweat pants as she mingled and attacked our guests. At no time did our guests abuse her facility or abuse her rules - this just seemed to be her way of handling a rental. Did her best to ruin the evening for about 60% of the guests as well as the parents of both the bride & groom. I would not recommend this venue.
