A magical venue and a hidden gem!

We are so thrilled we decided to go with the Lodge! We got married there on February 3, 2023, and it was an absolutely flawless day thanks to our planner, Emily Kay, and the incredible team at the Lodge.

It was the first venue we visited, and we found that every venue we visited after it, we kept comparing to the Lodge. It feels like a hidden gem in LA. We loved that the Ldoge was a turnkey venue with so many “amenities” on site. We didn’t have to worry about bringing in tables, flatware, linens, etc. Also, the fact that they provide catering as well through the chef/owner Chef Cordelia, was also a huge bonus for us. We loved that we could have an outdoor ceremony and have the reception indoors, especially in February when the evenings get cool. And we also loved that the ceremony and the reception could be at the same location, which made logistics easier. The getting ready rooms for the wedding party are very cute and well-appointed. At our first visit we were worried they might be small, but we ended up having a wedding party of 14 people, and there was plenty of space for everyone.

Everyone kept telling us that the food was amazing, and they were right! So often food can be an afterthought at a wedding, but that is not the case with the Lodge. It easily is the best food we’ve ever had at a wedding, and we had so many people coming up to us throughout the night and telling us how great the food was. Chef Cordelia was also easily able to accommodate any dietary restrictions that our guests had, even with family style service.

One of the best parts of the Lodge, is the monthly supper club they host. This is when you can do your menu tasting, and you can go as many times as you want. At the supper club, it’s basically a mini wedding reception, because they bring in a florist, a DJ, event planners, and a photographer, so you can have the experience of being a wedding guest at the Lodge. We had so much fun at Supper Club, we went twice, and we found our florist, Something’s Blooming LA, through Supper Club as well.

Leading up to our wedding, the Lodge was very easy to work with and very communicative and responsive about any questions we had. On the big day itself, everything went so smoothly, and we had no problems. All of our guests were raving about the location and how beautiful the venue was, and we are so thrilled that our friends and family enjoyed the Lodge as much as we did.

We are so pleased we chose the Lodge, the venue made all of our wedding dreams come true and we have so many fond memories we will keep thinking about for years to come!

We cannot recommend this venue enough!!! The location and team are incredible, and it was such a pleasure to work with them!!

Thank you Lodge at Malibou Lake

We were extremely lucky to get married at The Lodge at Malibou Lake! We worked closely with Sara, who was extremely thorough and easy to communicate with since the day we first reached out. The team we worked with on our wedding day is highly experienced, and made sure that everything went smoothly. Through their extensive menu and flexibility on the bar and setup, we were truly able to personalize our wedding day for us. They also have so much great furniture that we were able to use, which meant we hardly had to rent or bring anything else in. We actually booked The Lodge without visiting first - while it was a nervous decision, we couldn't have made a better one.

Do yourself a favor and get married here!

Beyond being the most beautiful venue, the staff at the Lodge are really what makes the place so magical. Chef Cordelia and her team are first class. They helped make our day run flawlessly and whipped up the best freaking wedding food on the planet (our guests can attest). Seriously, in a world where you agonize eating at a wedding, Chef Cordelia and her culinary team are serving up Michelin star-worthy dishes. They catered to all our wild ideas and blew them out of the water…such as our pickle bar, specialty cocktails, and cheesecake bar. The wait staff was extremely kind and the bartenders were everyone’s best friends. Leading up to the wedding, the Lodge was extremely responsive and organized. There’s not a single thing we’d change about our wedding day and cannot recommend this venue enough. You will surely see us at Supper Club meals in the future because we cannot get enough of this place. It’s truly one of a kind.

    Venue of my dreams

We just had our wedding here this past weekend and we are still on a high from the amazing day that we had. When we were in the process of finding our venue, this was the first venue that we toured and we chose it right on the spot. We knew that we didn't need to look any further because this venue had EVERYTHING we could have ever asked for. Chef Cordelia is not only amazing but the food is absolutely UNREAL. My guests said it was by far the best wedding food they had ever had. One of my guests actually asked for a to-go box because it was all so good. The staff there is also incredible and sweet and made my day run so smoothly. The weather was perfect and the set-up was just amazing. The Lodge really cares about you and wants to make sure you have the best wedding. I honestly could not have asked for a perfect day. NOTHING went wrong which is highly unusual because something usually always goes wrong on a wedding day but I didn't have that experience. We are just so thankful for this amazing place and for being the venue of our dreams. I can't wait to recommend this venue to everyone I know. I promise you you will not be disappointed in having your wedding here.

    The Lodge was amazing!

We absolutely loved working with the Lodge and Chef Cordelia! We booked the venue without actually having seen it in person (thanks covid) but couldn’t have been happier with our decision! First off, The Lodge is stunning! Such a great space for a wedding and we loved the flexibility of being able to switch to all outdoors (especially with covid) or all indoors (if weather was an issue). Thankfully both cooperated and we are able to do our indoor/outdoor plan. We loved the flow of our event, moving from the lawn for the ceremony, to the bar/patio for cocktails, and then the ballroom for dinner/dancing. The previews of the pictures we took by the lake look amazing
Cordelia and team were very easy to work with- responsive, flexible, and kind. We loved that the venue included so much, we didn’t have to get any rentals which was really nice. The food was VERY good, and not just for wedding food! We especially loved the oxtail raviolis and were so impressed by their ability to perfectly cook 100 filets.

I think the lodge provides great value for the amount you pay. I would highly recommend this venue!

Couldn't have made a better decision

We had our wedding at the Lodge this past February 2020 and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. It was everything that we wanted it to be! Historic but modern with scenic views (pictures don’t do the venue or the lake/mountains justice), excellent staff and service, and wonderful food. It even rained on our wedding day. We originally planned for the ceremony to be on the great lawn facing the lake, but moved to rain-day plan inside the ballroom about 4 hours before the ceremony. Honestly, we are so happy that it rained - the ceremony was gorgeous inside and had a very intimate feel. We had a string trio and the ballroom offered great acoustics. The team there flipped the room for the reception (a lot of work!), but they did it so quickly and every detail of setting the dinner tables was perfect.

And the food… the food was so good! Food was one area that we wanted to make sure was big part of our day. We are total foodies. We definitely ate on our wedding day! Smoked mashed potatoes..truffle mac n cheese…smoked game hens…the wedge salad was one of the best. We had received so many compliments from our guests. The service was wonderful, too. We just wish we could go back as if it were a local restaurant!

A big thank you to Cordelia and her staff for such a wonderful day - we couldn’t have been happier how everything turned out!

    Amazing Postponed Wedding Celebration

I'm so glad we chose The Lodge at Malibou Lake as our wedding venue. One of the biggest draws for us was that the Lodge is already so beautifully decorated/furnished, we didn't feel the need to get any rentals. Even the couple's getting-ready suites are adorable and great for photos. We had to postpone from our original date due to COVID and Chef Cordelia made the process super easy. Our rescheduled celebration was absolutely beautiful; our guests couldn't stop commenting on both how good the food was and how beautiful the setting was. We ended up deciding to move the dinner out onto the Great Lawn last minute because of rising COVID cases, and now I can't imagine doing it any other way! Having the string lights and lake/mountains as our backdrop for dinner was amazing. Overall I think this venue was an incredible value for what you get and the quality of service/food.

    Best venue in socal

I am definitely bias but The Lodge is the BEST venue in SoCal. My husband and I live in Northern Cal but knew early into our engagement that we wanted to married in SoCal. There were a couple "musts" for us when determining a venue. For me, I really wanted a venue that offered amazing food. I know that isn't every brides priority but it was definitely mine! We also wanted a venue that was timeless while style unique and stylish. We had booked so many tours and were blown away when we toured The Lodge.

Our tour was given by Jacey who is so fun to work with. She was on that day and moving forward so patient and informative. She set an amazing first impression for the venue as their coordinator.

After choosing The Lodge as our venue we later became familiar with Chef Cordelia and Valerie (who handles the contracts). Such an amazing team! What I loved about The Lodge is they host "Supper Clubs" which is a monthly dinner party where you get a good idea of the food and cocktail service they offer and it's even a good opportunity to meet vendors. I wished we lived locally, we would've gone more than once!

Chef Cordelia worked with me on making our Italian themed dinner and we even served brick oven pizza which was a major hit! Honestly I've had brides tell me that I wasn't even going to eat at my wedding..and that was not the case. It was some of the best food i've ever had!

I could honestly go on and on about this venue and the team that works there but if there's one thing I can say, it's that it is evident that they all really care about the business and the weddings that go on there. Everything felt so thoughtful, personalized, and detailed.

    Couldn't recommend this venue more!

Beautiful hidden venue in the mountains!

We stumbled upon this venue on a drive through the mountains. Who knew there was a lake up there?! When we saw the lodge, we had to stop and take a look around. We were able to get some info and quickly came back for a tour and tasting dinner, which cemented our decision to go with them. Not only is it a gorgeous venue, but the food is absolutely delicious! They have a catering company and on-site kitchen, along with a lot of their own furniture, which helps simplify the process of vendor selection and coordination. They coordinated so well with our planner, and the entire crew on the day of was so helpful and professional. We'd happily recommend the venue and team and it was such a memorable event that we will never forget!

Absolutely beautiful venue & amazing staff

We spent way too much time and energy looking for venues and it became so exhausting. But we're so glad we found this gem, as it made us realize just how thorough of a search we did and how many of the things on our wish list this place had.

From the very first communication with Jacey, we got a quick response. We scheduled a tour and she was warm, friendly and answered all our questions. We then later scheduled two supper club tastings and really loved the food and atmosphere. FYI they charge for tastings but you can have up to 2 tastings credited toward your final invoice.

We liked that the venue already included beautiful tables, chairs, various furniture, two types of arches, table settings, service wear, and some decor items such as lanterns and an easel. The wood farm style tables are gorgeous and don't need linens so you can save on that cost. There is a beautiful lake across the street for photo ops. You also have the option to bring in your own alcohol (they supply bartenders and basic mixers) which is a great way to save money. We also loved how beautifully maintained the grounds are. The ballroom is beautiful, with elegant high ceilings, lots of windows, and gorgeous chandeliers. The location is fantastic. Just an hour or so outside of LA and easy to get to off the freeway, but you feel like you're not even in the city because it's kind of tucked away in the mountains. And lots of parking, which was important for us.

All points of contacts, from Jacey to Valerie to Cordelia, are super responsive, organized, and always answered all of our questions (we had tons!). There is a ton of good information on their website and you can see all of their decor, furnishings, spaces, and even sample table configurations depending on your guest count. Our final walk through meeting was extremely thorough and we even got a floor plan of how all the tables and furniture would be laid out on our wedding day.

We decided on family style dining and they offered a wide range of menu options, which includes 4 passed appetizers, and mix and match between 5 dining items. For apps, we selected the bacon wrapped apricots (crowd favorite), mini crab cakes, chilled grilled shrimp w/gazpacho shot, and duck bao buns. The dining items were a watermelon and mixed greens salad, cedar plank salmon w/rosemary mustard glaze, tri tip w/charred tomato salsa, green beans w/almond slivers and street style corn on the cob. Everything was delicious and we received endless compliments.

The staff was simply amazing. During cocktail hour while we were taking our photos, the staff came by and offered us drinks and appetizers. And upon being seated at the sweetheart table, we saw they had set aside a plate of more appetizers for us as well (we missed some being passed while we went across the street to the lake for photos). The staff was so attentive and constantly checked on us thoughout the evening to see if we needed anything and offered drinks.

The transition between ceremony to reception was seamless, and clean up at the end of the night went like a well oiled machine. The Lodge and all of the staff truly made our day memorable and we are so glad we chose them for our wedding day.

    Best Day Ever

So much can be said about this amazing venue and Chef Cordelia and her staff! We found this venue last March/April and at the time it was not as known as it has now become. Through the last year we have seen so much growth and even during the unfortunate devastation this community has faced during the Woolsey Fire this venue remained untouched. It is a true symbol of the surrounding community and you can feel it when you are there. We were honored to have our wedding still come to fruition, the staff and comfort felt and given at this venue truly made me want to get married here all over again. It was a magical day, filled with love, laughter and this is a truly special place we will always be thankful for.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake's reply:

Thank you so much Katie! Your wedding day WAS magical, and we were proud to be a part of that. Your family and friends were some of our kindest wedding guests ever, and we're so happy that everyone had a good time. Happy Valentine's Day to you and Joey!

Beautiful Venue with a Great Staff

My husband and I were married at The Lodge at Malibou Lake in October 2018 and we had the best experience! The location is gorgeous with the lake and mountains in the backdrop -- lots of great photo ops. The inside of The Lodge looks like it's out of a wedding magazine with an awesome rustic bar and a nice dining room with huge windows, high ceilings and a fireplace. One of the things that really sold me on The Lodge is that you have access to all their furniture, which includes farm tables, X back chairs, leather sofas and other cool vintage items, so you don't have to hassle with rentals, which can really add up. This made The Lodge a great value and the planning process easier. The food by Chef Cordelia is delicious and the staff was a pleasure to work with. This venue is a real treasure!

    Perfect venue and perfect food!

We wanted a back yard wedding but had too many guests, and we were put off by nearby venues that seem like "wedding factories." We went with Malibou Lake (we booked before tasting the food) and I am SO glad we did.

The whole team is so responsive and amazing. Their in-house management/catering company (Chef Cordelia) is INCREDIBLE -- so responsive and personal, had a thorough answer for all 1000000 of my questions, SUPER flexible and customize-able, and the food was insanely delicious. Seriously, a week has gone by and our parents are still getting phonecalls complimenting the food (especially the Miso Salmon).

My only disappointment is that you can't project music outdoors other than during the ceremony (it's not up to the venue-- it's the policy of the neighborhood association), but luckily we had a DJ who could play acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour.

The team at Malibou Lake goes above and beyond. Physically, it feels personal and secluded even though it's just sitting in Agoura. We got tons of compliments on the beauty of the setting, and a few friends even hinted that they might want to get married there in the future. The Chef Cordelia team has also gone above and beyond to make this venue beautiful on the inside -- it feels like a hip bar or private lodge. Just gorgeous.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake's reply:

Thank you so much, Torey! We're so thrilled you felt so good about your experience at The Lodge, and that you and your guests loved the food! It was a pleasure working with you. –Valerie

    Fantastic Hidden Gem

We were so lucky to find this venue. It was exactly what we were looking for! Something secluded that made you feel like you were outside of the city but close enough that our guests who live in and around the area could easily travel to. It's a lake in the mountains of LA County! How great is that?

The space is beautiful and has been decorated and cared for in the nicest way. The staff was also wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Planning a wedding can be a crazy process and Chef Cordelia and her team were responsive and willing to work with us with a lot of our ideas. The food was amazing and our guests were raving about it all night. The pricing was also a lot more affordable than other similar venues in the area which was a huge bonus.

The only issue we had was the aisle during our ceremony wasn't wide enough for my Mom and Dad to both walk me down, even though we asked for it to accaomade three people. But other than that we had a fantastic day!

The Lodge at Malibou Lake's reply:

Thank you so much, Cassie! I'm sorry the aisle wasn't as wide as you wanted, but so glad to hear the rest of your day was fantastic. It was our pleasure to help make your big day a success. –Valerie

    Amazing but…

Everything about my step daughters wedding was perfect, food excellent! Location excellent! Only frustration was at end of night and we were told all flowers and greenery needed to be removed and taken away. Apparently in their vendor contracts. Check beforehand and address. They wouldn’t give us trash bags. Comment was “Can you imagine the cost if we gave everyone trash bags? Wrong response to a client. Be prepared to pay an extra $500 or bring your own trash bags and have room in cars to take with you.

    Poor pandemic experience

We were supposed to have our wedding May 2020 and then the pandemic hit. It was a difficult time for everyone but the venue ended up keeping the entirety of our deposit. All vendors I worked with returned at least 50% as the deposit is used to secure services for your wedding day and since we weren't having any, it was basically like just taking our money. Very disappointed by how they handled this situation during unprecedented times.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake's reply:

    Hi Ilene,
I know you're disappointed, and we are too. This pandemic has been hard for wedding vendors and for couples.
In our contract, which you and all of our clients have signed, we are very clear that the first payment is non-refundable, even in the case of force majeure (like this pandemic). The reason is that unlike your other vendors, our overhead is much greater. The cost of maintaining the venue itself, paying insurance, and running a catering business with 2 dozen employees is considerable. Although your wedding is one day, you are paying for all of the things that allow us to continually operate and provide tours, tastings, event support, etc. We are not just a service, we are a fully furnished historic building and kitchen facility.
In response to the pandemic we offered postponement with no fees and with full transference of all money paid, for all of our 2020 weddings. I know you planned to postpone at first, but instead cancelled. Again, I'm sorry you are disappointed and I wish you only the best.
    - Cordelia
