    Gorgeous wedding ceremony venue

We had our wedding ceremony at the Piper Palm House for our August 2023 wedding. It was absolutely beautiful, and the photos look great with the pretty natural lighting and pops of green from the indoor plants. They were communicative throughout the process and very responsive via email. Everything during the rehearsal and on the day-of went smoothly. We used their bluetooth speaker for music, their microphone for the officiant to use and the arbor for decoration. The only thing I want to note for other couples: there is a possibility that an outdoor event may be booked during the same weekend and in that case, the tent on the patio is up Thurs-Sun. This happened to us and was a little disappointing because I had envisioned using that side for some photos that included all the beautiful windows. The coordinator at Piper Palm let me know well ahead of time that would be the case, which I did appreciate. We ended up taking our outdoor photos on one of the short sides of the building and in the greenhouse area in the back and they still turned out beautiful.

    Unique and Beautiful

My husband and I really wanted to find a unique, beautiful venue for our wedding, and we found the Piper Palm House! It's a gorgeous building in a stunning park. The staff was also super helpful with answering questions and helping things run smoothly the day of. We highly recommend this venue!

This is the place to have Weddings in St. Louis! The Piper Palm House is a beautiful venue inside and out. We chose to hold our event in the Palm House. The June heat started the weekend of our wedding. They let us decide a few days before the actual event to insure we made the right decision. The acoustics are great inside and the venue comes with all of the palms, plants and flowers seen in pictures. We really only added an alter. After the wedding we went outside to utilize Tower Grove Park. Everything was in bloom and pedestrians weren't overly in the way.

We had our wedding ceremony inside the Piper Palm House and it was simply beautiful. The communication with the coordinator went smoothly. Every time I emailed, I received a response within 24 hours, usually sooner. Before we arrived for our rehearsal, I was informed about who I was meeting and what to expect. The day of the wedding, everything was ready to go when we arrived. We were able to get the venue decorated and perfected with plenty of time to spare. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Our building deposit was refunded to us quickly, within a week of the wedding. Thank you to everyone at the Piper Palm House and Tower Grove Park for helping us have the perfect day!

I reserved and utilized the Palm House, patio and ruins area for my ceremony and reception. The Piper Palm House team was very helpful in coordinating communication between my planner and caterer, and they were very helpful in accommodating requests. The day was gorgeous and the venue was perfect for an early fall event. It could not have been more beautiful.

As soon as my husband and I saw the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park, we knew it was the perfect place for us to hold both our wedding & reception. It is a beautiful historic building. The inside is so beautiful with the majestic palms and other plants, you don't need a lot of flowers from a florist. We had small centerpieces made for the tables and that was it! The grounds surrouding the Piper are wonderful for pictures -- (definitely have your photographer take some by "The Ruins" at night). If you are looking for a beautiful venue for your wedding, reception, or both, Piper Palm House is a wonderful choice!

The Piper Palm House is such a beautiful venue for a wedding! It rained and rained on our wedding day so we had to move our outdoor wedding inside. The place didn't need any additional decor, which was a huge selling point for us. I'd read previous reviews which stated that it was much easier to contact the staff via e-mail than by phone. So, most of our contact was via e-mail and I have no complaints. They always responded very quickly and were more than accomodating. The "bridal room" is actually a kitchen, so I decided to do most of my getting ready at a nearby hotel so all of our pre-wedding photos wouldn't have stainless steel appliances in them. Our "day of" wedding coordinator was excellent and she made everything run as smoothly as possible. She also separately worked with our musicians to make sure that they had everything they needed to set up properly. If we had to do it all over again, we'd still choose the Piper Palm House!

The Piper Palm House was absolutely beautiful and our coordinator was very helpful. The acoustics in the building are great, the place was clean, and the picture turned out beautifully. The girls were able to get ready in the kitchen, but unfortunately, there was no place for the guys. Also, make sure no major events are going on at the park on the day of your wedding. Otherwise, parking might become an issue. We paid $700 for two hours, but it was totally worth it!

The Piper Palm House is an unique venue in St. Louis that strays far from the typical "hotel ballroom". The setting is a green house in Tower Grove Park, it stands amidst a lily pond and perennial garden. We had tables inside and out, with a tent covering the outside tables. The staff were helpful with providing names of vendors. You can not go wrong with this venue.

The ambiance was amazing!! We love the location and the building!! The only issue is the Palm House will not allow you to drop anything off early. So we had to find someone to drop off things for the receeption an hour before our wedding. We loved it all in all!!

This is such a beautiful location (the pictures do not do it justice) - the only issue is their responsiveness. When you call, no one answers and their voicemail says you will get a response in 3-5 business days, not something a bride wants to hear. However, we had no issues with contact or coordination with them and were very happy with the space. (I also know that they are working on their event planning sector for the park, so the responsiveness will be improving on this - hopefully)

This had to be one of the prettiest event venues my fiance and I looked at. So much natural beauty and it being inside the park for other photos was a real win in our books. We loved everything and couldn't be happier with how our ceremony turned out. Gorgeous inside and outside!

Beautiful venue, just gorgeous! My guests were blown away. It was a bit of a challenge getting ahold of the person in charge. I found out that email works better because no one is physically at the venue at all times. You have to make appointments and meet them there. But I would still definitely recommend this venue to anyone!

Piper Palm House is such a beautiful facility and having the wedding there whether inside or out is a perfect place! It was lovely! At times it was hard to reach the venue and get in touch with someone about things and making sure that everything was finalized was a little difficult, but overall everything went well for the big day.

First of all, the Piper Palm House is a beautiful place to have a wedding. We knew right away that it would be perfect for what we had in mind. However, we were very disappointed with several things. The rental coordinator’s response rate to my emails prior to the wedding was hit and miss – sometimes she would respond right away, but there were some questions that she never responded to. I did not know who would be our contact person on the evening of the wedding until two days before, and I had to ask this question several times before I got an answer. Two days before the wedding, we happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to drive by the Palm House just to see how everything looked. As we drove up, we saw that there was caution tape and bright orange construction barrels around the fountain and the Ruins. I started freaking out, and we walked closer and saw that the area around the fountain had been torn up in places and that the fountain had been drained. There was also some construction machinery in the area. This would be highly visible during our ceremony (guests would be facing this direction in our outdoor wedding), and we had planned to do first look pictures at the Ruins. We attempted to talk to someone in the office right away, but it was after 5pm and everyone had gone for the day. First thing in the morning, DH called the office and asked what was going on and why we had not been notified. The coordinator’s assistant told him she would check with the rangers. She then called me and said that everything would be moved by 12pm on the day of our wedding. Later that day at our rehearsal, I again checked with her to make sure that no construction materials would be visible, and she assured me they would not. I told her we planned to do first look pictures at around 12:30 and she said everything would be moved by then. Of course, the next day the guys arrived with the second shooter and NOTHING had been moved. They had to go to the office and tell someone, and they finally got it taken care of, but it put us behind on photos by about 30 minutes. At the reception, the “coordinator” was not really all that helpful – thank goodness we had 2 friends that took charge of setting things up, and one of our friends said the Palm House staff were kind of rude to her. The evening coordinator also never even introduced herself to us and never really spoke to either of us. I kind of got the feeling that they were only there to make sure we didn’t break anything. They had no idea where to find candle lighters to light our centerpieces. Also, the Palm House requires a $500 refundable damage deposit to be paid a month before the wedding. It was supposed to be refunded within 14 days after the wedding. It took 19 days for the deposit to be refunded to our credit card, and they did not return my original phone call about that either – we had to call them again. Overall, I would say it’s a beautiful venue, and we got lots of compliments on our choice, but their customer service is definitely lacking.

    Poor customer service

I really want to give this wedding venue 5 stars. It is absolutely beautiful, and is a perfect venue for smaller weddings and receptions. I had to give it 3 stars however for the event coordination of my ceremony and reception. I put together a wedding/reception combo for 55 people in about 6 weeks. Time was of the essence with vendors. In any case, I do not think it is professional nor should it be customary for the events/venue coordinator for Tower Grove Park to require customers to wait 2-3 business days for any responses to emails or phone calls. If you call/email on a Friday morning, you may not hear an answer until the following Wednesday. When you are trying to plan a wedding, more immediate responses are required as other vendors you are working with need answers from you quickly. I am not necessarily faulting the coordinator personally as the workload may be too much for her and requiring that level of response. Not all our correspondences took that long, but too many of them did. Tower Grove, please take that into consideration; perhaps you need to hire another coordinator if the workload is such. Brides do get a day-of event planner, but not until the rehearsal the WEEK OF YOUR WEDDING. It would make sense to me to receive the day-of event planner once you book the venue in order to spread the workload. Or put together a more comprehensive FAQ's section to include answers to all the commonly asked questions [What are all the options (size/shape) of tables AND cocktail tables available for use? Can the white arbor be moved outside? Who comes up with the floor plan? etc.]. On a positive note, my day-of event planner, Kelsey, was so very helpful! She did a lot for us and was amazing! When we had our rehearsal, she answered a lot of questions for us that would have been helpful to know much sooner.

The Piper Palm House was a very beautiful and reasonable priced location. But, I was disappointed with the service. We rented it a year out with the hopes of taking photos around the gorgeous ponds. Little did we know (and they didn't bother to tell us) that the ponds were going to be under construction. Luckily, we were able to find one spot without orange construction barricade or a bull dozer for photos. I didn't originally tour the facility because I live in the area and was familiar with the location. However, a month before my wedding, I called multiple times trying to meet with someone and go over layout and answer questions. They were very poor in getting back with me, and stood me up on one appointment. We ended up not seeing the layout of the facility until the rehearsal. In the end everything turned out fine, but the stress was too much.
