  The Perfect Wedding Venue

  The Veranda at Thornton Park turned out to be the perfect venue for us in more ways that one. If you’re looking for a venue with cute houses to stay in on site, freedom to create your dream event, and amazing people to work with, then this is your venue.
  
  Between our close friends and family we stayed in all three of the houses available. The orange house is great to sleep 6 people if everyone is ok with sharing a bed. That was our main hangout house for the weekend and had everything we needed. The blue house was perfect for my mom to stay in; small but perfectly tucked away and had a great view. If you you’re having your wedding here, I highly recommend having private appetizers on the gorgeous deck overlooking the lovely town. My husband and I did this right after our ceremony and I cannot recommend it enough! On our wedding night, my husband and I stayed in the pink house which was my favorite house. It was the perfect little cottage to escape from our family for the night.
  
  The Vernada has some amazing vendor recommendations for everything you might need for your event but also allows you to bring in your own vendors if you choose. The freedom to do so made planning our wedding more fun. Although I agree with the venue that DJ Ben Bravo is the best!
  
  Felicia, who owns and runs the Veranda made the whole weekend a magical event. Her laid back attitude and fun nature made planning and executing our wedding fun and easy. I swear Felicia’s chill and calm demeanor that can calm any bridezilla (yes I’m referring to myself). Not only is she good at her job, she’s a great person to know. After this wedding I know that we have made new friends for life. I cannot wait to have our anniversary parties here for all the years to come. Thank you so much Felicia and the Vernada team for making our wedding so perfect.

  Absolutely stunning!

  Without this historical gem our wedding would have never been all it was. The property is absolutely stunning. The fact that there are Airbnb’s on the property make it even more worth it. Thank you!!

  Effortless from the start

  We ended up at The Veranda after our original venue was condemned. They were offering a special for people affected by the condemnation, which was beyond generous and certainly helped ease the stress of losing our first venue.
  Gerald, the event coordinator, was so amazing from the beginning. He made the whole process so easy. We had a vision of having a petting zoo, and he totally ran with it and didn’t tell us no. It ended up being a hit!
  I can’t say enough how amazing Gerald was to work with. I wasn’t worried about anything on my big day because I knew we were in good hands. Gerald was always so responsive and made us feel at ease.
  It was a bummer losing our first venue, but I believe everything happens for a reason. In hindsight, it was the best thing that could have happened. We found The Veranda and we found Gerald and we had a beyond perfect day.

  Gerald is an amazing individual and fantastic at what he does. He was available for us whenever needed and went out of his way to ensure things went smoothly. The venue looked even better at night all lit up with the lights and all of our needs were fully met. We would choose The Veranda again in a heart beat.

  The Veranda at Thorton Park was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. We instantly fell in love when we saw the venue. They have beautiful string lights everywhere. Cyndi was really helpful giving us ideas for vendors, and always available for any questions. They let you plan your wedding however you want to, and work with a large variety of vendors. Gerald Wagner – Young was heaven-sent. He truly made our dream wedding come true. He helped with everything from the floorplans, to the wedding timeline, to the day of coordination. Everything ran so smoothly, we couldn’t of asked for a better venue and better people to work with. They do everything they can to make sure you have the best day of your life. Highly, highly recommend. If I could give more fire more than five stars I would!!!

  Working with Gerald was great, he was a great help organizing the event and ideas to set up the dining area and reception. He was always available to meet. Definitively a great venue for weddings and corporate events. Highly recommended. Thank you Gerald for your extra help and being present throughout the event.

  Our firm event at Veranda was such an success that we plan on holding more events at this venue. Gerald was our event planner was the moment I met him, I knew the process will go smoothly & seamlessly. He was responsive, professional, dependable, and flexible. He was there from start to finish on the day of event. Even our guests paid him & the venue loads of compliments. The venue itself was so accommodating and beautiful. We all had FUN and could not have done it without the help of Gerald and his team. I will definitely recommend d Gerald and the Veranda for your next event!

Gerald is deeply passionate about the excellent work that he does, and he will go to great lengths to ensure that your big day is everything you want it to be. He will make you laugh, feel supported, and help you enjoy every step along the way. He has become a good friend to us.   We could not be happier with the beautiful venue!! The cleanliness, professionalism, quality, location, and most amazing event coordinator Gerald, was second to none!! In the evening when the lights were on in the courtyard, it seemed absolutely magical!! I will definitely only use the veranda for any future events! I highly recommend this venue for any event needs!

  We recently held the Launch Party for Come Out With PRIDE Orlando at the Veranda. It was a hugely successful event. The Veranda is centrally located in Thornton Park and has a beautiful courtyard. The staff are friendly and helpful and easy to work with. A great venue all around!

  The Veranda at Thornton Park was my immediate first choice when searching for the perfect wedding venue. Cindy saw my vision, listened, gave amazing advice, and completely blew me away for my spring wedding. It was absolutely above and beyond my expectations and vision. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. I highly reccommend it to anyone looking for the perfect courtyard wedding and THE MARKET LIGHTS are unbeatable.

  Veranda was the first venue that I visited after we got engaged, and I knew immediately that we needed to have our wedding there. Although we knew the entire ceremony/reception would need to be outside and that is risky in Florida, no where else that we looked felt right to us other than Veranda. Leading up to the wedding, we worked with Cindy to create a flawless day - she was so great and so patient with all of my OCD bridal worries! Right after our dinner started, the rain came down like crazy. (Luckily, we had tented the dinner and reception area!) I hadn't seen a storm like that in a long time, but Cindy and her crew were great at staying calm, keeping me and my family calm, and our guests happy. She worked so smoothly with the caterer, bartenders, and DJ to keep the night going! Finally when the storm let up, all of our vendors were soaked from their hard work to make our wedding as great as possible (including the staff at Veranda!) and it showed their serious commitment to making sure that the newlyweds at their venue are having the best night of their lives. Along with the wonderful staff, the venue itself is so unique and has so much charm. All of our guests went on and on about how beautiful the location was, and even throughout the madness of the rain I thought to myself- I still didn't want to do this anywhere else. The colorful background, courtyard settings, market lights, and adorable buildings make this place unlike any other. We've already received some preview photos from our photographer and the setting just makes them so amazing! We were so lucky to have gotten married at Veranda and I can't wait to throw another party there one day soon!

  We feel so blessed to have found Cindy and the Veranda. Cindy is an amazing woman, she took much of the wedding plan stress off of us and we knew we could always count on her. The venue was beautiful and we had delicious food catered by the Little Lamb. Thank you so much for making our wedding day special, memorable and fun!!!

  We cannot thank Scotty and Louise from Dubsdread enough...they were AMAZING! It was pouring for hours the day of our wedding and we were receiving tornado alerts on our phones. It was very obvious the weather was not in favor of an outdoor wedding. Not once did Dubsdread coordinators come to us and worry us the day of our wedding and bring the already obvious weather to our attention. We loved that they took charge and set up the venue without worrying us. It was a miracle that the weather cleared up a half hour before the ceremony started and it was beautiful! Everything was perfect. The food was great, and everything transitioned so smoothly. Dubsdread, especially Scotty and Louise, were so professional and helpful. We cannot recommend them enough!! Throughout the entire planning process, they were very accommodating and listened to our requests. You can tell they really love what they do =)

  We cannot thank Scotty and Louise from Dubsdread enough...they were AMAZING! It was pouring for hours the day of our wedding and we were receiving tornado alerts on our phones.   This venue is GORGEOUS! The staff was amazing to work with. Scotty was so wonderful and made my day go flawlessly. I would recommend this beautiful venue to anyone that wants an outdoor reception.

  I could not have imagined a prettier setting for our wedding than the Veranda. By the time the sun had set and the reception began, it looked nothing short of magical. The buildings and lights looked stunning. The physical space for each event (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) was organized so well.

  Absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough for how wonderful our wedding was at The Veranda on 3/16/13. It was better than we imagined and here’s why…
  Emily, with Dubsdread, is fantastic! I honestly could not have done it without her. Her personality is calming and supportive. She listens to ideas and visions and runs with them! She was constantly answering emails and never made me feel like any question was too small. I also never felt like she was too busy for us, she was always helpful and responded quickly. And what a hard worker! The day of the wedding was such a success because of Emily. She needed little instruction and completely set up and tore down everything. (It was more gorgeous than I imagined, by the way!) This was the best part in my opinion, because it allowed me to enjoy the night and not have to worry about anything. I can only imagine what a disaster our wedding could have been without her and cannot thank her enough. Even Several of our guest came up to me and said how nice Emily was.
  Dubsdread catering and staff also exceeded my expectations. They went over and beyond to work with our budget, the food was fantastic, and the staff was awesome! I was especially impressed with our personal waiter who made sure we had everything we needed including having our favorite drink waiting for us and serving us dinner. The bartenders were also great at their work. Other weddings I’ve attended the bartenders have been older and boring, you feel like you’re somehow an imposition, and there’s almost always a line at the bar. Not at our wedding, which I was pleasantly surprised! The bartenders were younger men who were hard, fast workers that seemed to be having a good time themselves. Their positive, yet professional, attitudes allowed for the guest to have an even better night. I was really happy to see that.
  Thank you Dubsdread for a perfect reception! I had the time of my life and would highly recommend you to everyone.

  Fortunately, Karl and his team were GREAT in working with us. He honored the deposit and the date we had chosen and let us keep the original contract and fees. He set us up Dubsdread Catering (who they use exclusively to cater) and assured us that everything would be fine.
  
  We won't have the opportunity to use the venue because of some hard times that both my fiance and my family have fallen on. But, even though we won't be using them as our venue... I have NOTHING but amazing things to say about the team Karl has assembled at The Veranda. From the food, to making the venue look absolutely more beautiful than before, to the communication between his team and his clients.... you can really tell he wants to make everything perfect for his brides.

  As soon as I walked into the Veranda at Thornton Park, I knew it had to be my wedding venue. It was exactly what I wanted -- an all outdoor space with a distinctly Orlando feel. It was perfect. My 100 wedding guests fit perfectly into the space and they were very complimentary of the property, saying it was their new favorite wedding venue in Orlando and very unique (which was the whole point). A few minuses: The property changed their bridal suite accommodations without telling me, and their new space was much smaller than the previous space. I ended up having to scramble to find a space big enough for me and my girls and my hair/makeup vendors to fit. Also, there is some maintenance issues with the property, like a faulty step on the stage, twinkle lights that don't work, etc. Set-up and strike are not included in the price (so you'll have to pay extra for your planner or caterer to do it), and chairs and tables are extra as well, which I think is ridiculous. Other than that, it was a lovely space for our wedding and I do not regret having our wedding there one bit.
