  Amazing venue and people!

  Marie and her husband were amazing! They helped with everything we asked, and allowed us to set up our wedding a couple of days in advance to alleviate stress. We also had a choreographed first dance, which Marie kindly let us practice in the barn before the big day. She has the biggest heart, and an amazing venue. What more could we ask for? Thanks Marie for being so kind and welcoming and making us feel at home on our wedding day

  Whitcomb Barn

  Marie, Dave, and the whitcomb barn was incredible. We had a beautiful wedding with beautiful scenery. Marie and Dave are also super nice and easy to with.

  The Whitcomb House is amazing! The barn where our reception was so big and made everything flow together. Marie is such an amazing person to work with as well. If you had questions she would get right back to you. Or if you needed suggestions she would have them.

  Marie was perfect. She was so helpful and very responsive to all our needs throughout the wedding planning process. The barn for our wedding was amazing. We received so many compliments on the venue. Working with Marie Whitcomb was a pleasure and very comfortable.

  We had the most wonderful experience working with Marie, she was very helpful and made it a relaxing and special day! Couldnt have asked for anything more! We stayed at the bed and breakfast the night before and were able to make sure all the last minute details were in order. Started off the day with a personalized breakfast and then took advantage of the barn and field to do some pre-ceremony pictures! Marie and Dave made sure we had everything we needed and were excellent hosts!

  Marie Whitcomb at The Whitcomb House is just outstanding to work with. She is always responsive and the prices are very competitive. My daughter wanted the reception in a barn, and The Whitcomb House was perfect. The barn is across the road from The Whitcomb House. We set up the barn the day before the wedding, and it came out gorgeous. Even out of state guests told us how spectacular it was - the most beautiful venue they had seen! It is a lot of work to set up, so be prepared. We rented the tables and chairs from Marie. You might want to consider renting fancier chairs, but these were comfortable and affordable. There are 2 bathrooms inside the barn. We had the food catered. There is pretty lighting strung in the barn, and Marie let us use several huge grape vine wreaths and other decorations. The barn is huge and we had plenty of room for our 120 guests. We even set up a couch corner for the kids. It got cool at sundown so we closed the barn door. The Whitcomb House (Inn) has 3 private rooms and 1 two bedroom apartment for rent. My daughter and her bridal party stayed in the apartment the night before the wedding and it was the perfect spot to get ready and take photos. We booked the entire Whitcomb House for the wedding night for the bride & groom and several out of town guests. The morning after the wedding we had a very nice breakfast with those that had stayed there, prepared by Marie. We loved having the reception here and highly recommend it.

  Beautiful field that backs up to river for ceremony and big red barn for reception. The price for the space seemed right, it was much more cost effective compared to other venues in Chittenden County. From the very beginning Marie was responsive, helpful and flexible. The cost was around $2,800 for the space, which included the barn and field. Tables/chairs, getting ready space and b&b were an additional charge. Worth it for convenience sake, but not cheap compared to other vendors in the area. The round tables were great. But many of the chairs were dirty and the tables were in rough shape. Not having seen them until the day before, I ended up using them and they were fine. But they could def use an upgrade/cleaning of the rentals, they've been over used. It was great to find a venue that didn't have 'preferred' vendors as well. It gave us the flexibility to use whoever we wanted. Marie didn't do much with our vendors before the wedding. On the day of she was around but not intrusive. We only ran into one miscommunication about having candles in the barn and the day before our wedding, I had to change everything from real candles to LED. Which was fine, but affected the light within the barn. I don't recommend paying them to clean up - it was not worth the $300 I paid. All they did was pile all our stuff by the barn door, no organization. They also made a couple rookie mistakes: threw out our paper lanterns, put some of our linens in with rented ones and our leftover liquor from the bar disappeared. All in all everything was amazing, ease of having a local flexible venue.
