35 days to go 😮

Hannah, on June 13, 2019 at 10:29 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 3
I am now 35 days away from the big day. Early last month I had a tonsillectomy at 23/yo, it was horrible I could eat and dropped about 10 pounds. Well to no surprise I gained that back and more once I could eat 3 weeks post op. I just tried on my dress, it still fits 🙌🙌 thank god. BUT, I feel self conscious. I know I’ve gained a little bit of weight and I’m feeling really down on myself and having trouble binging, exercising, and napping. All not in a good order. Any advice on how to maybe balance, lose a few, and be healthy mentally and physically would be so much appreciated!

I have been dealing with depression since I was a teenager. I get stuck in ruts every now and then where I have zero motivation and feel absolutely hopeless. As hard as it is, you just have to MAKE yourself get up and get out of the house. The first few days are hard, but you’ll start feeling better and your motivation will return.

Just start by going for a walk in the park or somewhere outside. Get some sunshine. That always helps me when I’m feeling my lowest. Make sure you’re taking vitamins and drinking enough water. Try not to eat a lot of empty carbs, because they drain energy and make one feel sluggish. Excercise if you can! Walk, run on the treadmill, lift weights, go swimming, take a yoga class, turn on your favorite music and dance like a mad person in your living room... whatever types of movement that you’re comfortable with. Cut out sugar, soda, and all junk food. Eat more veggies!

Focus on the positives! You’re getting married soon and this is one of the most exciting times in your life. When you wake up in the morning, before you get out of bed, set small goals for yourself to accomplish for the day. Take deep breaths. Tell yourself you can do this! You can do anything. Be nice to yourself. You deserve it. Get yourself excited to face the day before you even get out of bed. You’ll have a better mindset.

I know it’s hard to do these things when you’re feeling low, but doing these things truly does pull you out of your rut. It’s a tricky little Catch-22, but it’s well worth it to take care of yourself. Just take it one day at a time and don’t beat yourself if you have a bad day here and there. Just try to keep moving forward. 💕

    Best wishes to you!! ♥️

I struggled with eating disorders when I was younger. And so when I got engaged i began to get into these habits of thinking I must do everything to look better including bridal diets and what not and then I remembered... I want to be healthy for me and not because of a single day.
You're going to be beautiful no matter what, ok? Sometimes it's hard to remember that or see it. But you are. Be healthy by being active and eating balanced meals but remember that it is for you and not solely for the purpose of a wedding.
