Bali for Honeymoon?!

Natalia, on September 15, 2019 at 10:54 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12
Bali seems like the perfect honeymoon place. Is it?! And is it worth the 20+ hours of travel? It looks beautiful, but I am not sure if it would be ideal for a honeymoon. Any advice or things I should know?

Were going to Bali for our honey moon! From what I’ve researched it looks amazing. Air bnb has some amazing rooms with great amenities for a very great price! Plus there’s lots to do there and the food looks good! My FH and I have traveled to Asia before (Nepal and Thailand). The flight really isn’t terrible!!

It looks beautiful! How long will you be traveling for to get to Bali? Also, how was Thailand? Did you like it?

I think we’re going for 10 days. October of 2020 we were only in Phuket. It was nice. Not somewhere I’d jump to go to again. But def very pretty snorkeling there was cool! It’s just kind of expensive on the island (I thought) but, Phuket is a major touristy area. We stayed at a resort that was beautiful! But the food there was not very good. Then I found the food everywhere on the island not the best. I was surprised. But, the island tours and such are really cool and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before!

We were thinking of being there for 5 nights. We would take a day for traveling there since it does take a while to get there.

We just picked Bali for our October 2020 honeymoon as well! Has anyone started planning?

We just spent a lazy day today looking at activities and hotels/villas. We're thinking 14 days and splitting between jungle and beach. Anything on your must do list?

If you can, travel through South Korea. I went on vacation to Bali and it’s my favorite layover airport. Lots to do, including cultural things at the airport.
The rules have changed, but see if you can take a wooden boat overnight to Komodo dragon island. We did that and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. They now limit visits to Komodo island from what I’ve heard, but nearby Rincon (sp?) island is ok too. You have to fly to a nearby island to go typically.
The boats are rickety but ours had some of the best food we had in Indonesia. Also look into the blue volcano on East Java island. It’s no fun to hike up the volcano and you drive there overnight, but it is AMAZING to see before and during sunrise.

I had the best vacation ever in Bali, so much so that we decided to take another trip to Bali for our honeymoon. Love the food there, ribs, rice with smoked suckling pig, seafood!! and many more. The beaches are mostly nice, you need to visit the ones still not so touristy. I can attest to Cortney that the Komodo Island now limit tourist as I think there's been some kind of security issues like poachers and stuff. Definitely recommend going there to relax, eat good food and the beaches.
