Best honeymoon all inclusive in Playa Del Carmen?

Missy, on February 17, 2015 at 9:22 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

I'm going on a work trip to Playa Del Carmen in June and my husband and I decided that it may be the perfect place to extend afterwards for our honeymoon that we havent done yet (got married in October). It will take care of the flight for me since I have to be there already and he can fly over separately. What is the best all inclusive there in everyone's opinion? We would want to stay Friday June 26th through Saturday July 4th.

Playa Del Carmen is so nice! We went there a few years ago and love that it was gated. We were able to leave our resort and walk down the street to Starbucks. We stayed at Iberostar, which I actually wouldn't recommend for a honeymoon. It had a TON of kids and really didn't give off the honeymoon vibe. RIU was next door and looked fabulous.

If you're not totally set on Playa Del Carmen, you should check out Excellence Playa Mujeres. We went there for our honeymoon and it was amazing.

I didn't think the one we went to was high end at all. It was my first All Inclusive and my first time out of the country and I was not impressed. But it was under $3,000 for two people for a week, so we went with it. We stayed at Occidental Grand Xcaret. I REALLY loved Xplor park. It's a day trip but the food there was better than what we had at the resort. The food is included in the park ticket. It has zip lines, cave swimming, cave canoeing and off road vehicles.

Hi, Missy. We are going to the Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. We are staying at the Valentin Imperial Maya which is just north of Playa Del Carmen. The resort offers shuttles into Playa everyday. The VIM is an all inclusive adult only resort. It is beautiful there! Its in a very tropical jungle setting with a great beach (some resorts do not have a good beach.) It has like 8 restaurants and a bunch of bars. I would highly recommend it.

We're spending half our honeymoon in Playa del Carmen! I haven't been, but the FH's family swears by Viva Resorts. We're staying at Viva Wyndham Azteca, which I've been told is within walking distance to their larger property, and you can visit both interchangeably. Azteca is the smaller, more quiet of the two. Can't wait for that beach!

Royal Hideaway is great and walking distance to 5th Avenue. I'd recommend that.

Thanks for all the information. Okay so I think I am down to Excellence Playa Mujeres, Royal Playa Del Carmen and Valentin Imperial Maya. We want nice beaches but also some sort of night life. Which of these do you think is best? I have seen excellent reviews of Excellence Play Mujeres but we are staying 7 nights and want to make sure we don't get bored.
