Not at the same time, but we decided to get a house first after we got engaged before we started wedding planning. You will be okay!

Ugh, yes. Thankfully, we close on the house tomorrow, yay!! It's been so stressful though. Everything will be ok, just stay focused. I'm trying to only focus on the house stuff right now, then worry about the wedding. When do you close on your house?

We did! We got engaged Dec 17, bought a house July 18, and got married July 19. It was a little stressful since we renovated the house the entire time (and continue to) but it just forced me to be super organized.

We got engaged end of March 2019 and closed on a house 3 weeks later. Definitely stressful but glad we get a year to still plan/budget for our wedding! It can be done, just remember to take some time for yourself.

I would want to do that but unfortunately with your finances we had to pick one or the other so we chose the wedding first and then will focus on buying a house 😭 the stress will be worth it in the end !

We didn't buy but I sold my house. Very Stressful!! My escrow closed July 31, and we are getting married August 31. It is so hard because all my belongings are at FH's house but since I have a 12 year old we agreed not to live together before the wedding. My daughter and I are currently living out of suitcases at my parents house!! THIS SUCKS!!

But yes I agree with PP all the stress with be worth it in the end and you will end up with your dream home and dream hubby! Good luck!!

Yes! We are trying to buy a home currently, and it is getting held up due to VA paperwork, and getting all of that situated prior to buying our home and using the VA loan. We are also at the very beginning stages of planning a wedding, mostly checking out venues, pricing out menus and such. It is a lot at once, but I am just trying to take it one day at a time and not stress over parts I have no control over. I keep telling myself to feel lucky/blessed because they are all amazing things happening at once in our lives.

My FH and I got engaged in May and we told each other before we even got engaged that buying a house was our first priority! We’re having a 3 year engagement and planning to buy a house in January! I knew that I wouldn’t be able to plan a wedding and save for a house!! Good luck to you!!

We’re doing the same thing!!! Plus I put my house on the market last week. We want a house that ours, not mine and my ex-husband house. Thinking it would take a few months to sale. Nope it sold the very next day and beyond asking price. So now I’m having to move out within 30 days. So now we have to move into my FH 2 bedroom apartment with myself and four kiddos plus all our stuff. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We aren't buying a house but we just signed a lease for our apartments and we're moving everything out tomorrow (a week before the wedding.) I can only imagine how stressful buying a house right now would be!! I refuse to even sell my car until a few months down the road because there is just no way I can juggle all of that and stay sane. My friend at work is in your shoes though, so you're def not the only one. I'm sure once everything is said and done it'll all be worth it!

We were looking for a house awhile before we set the date. We have now switched gears after not finding anything we were willing to move for.

    It'll be okay!

We house hunted in May. Put an offer in on May 12th and finally closed on July 12th. It was incredibly stressful because we were dealing with some moron loan agency. Money was tight in June and July because of the impending down payment but everything turned out fine.

We didn't buy a house but we are renovating a house that my grandparents have let us have and we will pay them rent. We had to completely empty the house and repaint every room and redo the flooring in the whole house. Our wedding is ten months away and we almost have our house ready for my fiance to move in. I'm partially thankful for us having a longer engagement so we could focus on the house for a few months and not really stress on the wedding. Now I'm able to give my focus to the wedding. I hope everything smoothes itself out for you and will be worth it in a few months!

We tried and after like 4 rejected offers we just decided a house wasn't meant to be right now. Plus this market is crazy for buyers.
