diy Center pieces with Sams club Bulk flowers

Maria, on July 15, 2018 at 6:01 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

So we just got a quote from our florist for our flowers, and its around 3k (for 1 bridal bouquet, 7 BM bouquet, 7 boutonnieres, 1 groom boutonnieres, 2 wrist corsage, 2 misc. boutonnieres, 10 centerpiece, 3 pergola pieces, and eucalyptus leaves for 7 tables, and 3 cocktail tables) - is this a reasonable price for flowers? we are going through HEB blooms.

looking at the numbers just increased my stressed level, so I was thinking of doing the center pieces myself, Sams sells bulk flowers and they have all the flowers that I discussed with the florist that will match the bouquets and boutonnieres.

My question is, has anyone done their own DIY Floral arrangements with sams clubs flowers? if so, did you do a trial run? How do you know how many flowers you will and how much to get? How were the quality of the flowers? Did you arrange the centerpieces yourself? Would using fake flowers be a good estimate on how you want the flowers to look? So many questions; my wedding is not until March 2019 so I have time to decide and figure out how to do this, but since I got the quote, the anxiety levels are running amok. ANY suggestions, will help!!

I'm not doing it, but PLEASE do a trial run!! Doing your own flowers is a lot harder than it looks.
I had the same idea, until I did a trial run and decided its not for me.
I broke a quarter of the flowers, my hands were cramping after 20min, and the bouquet came out very crappy 😂

1- I think that price actually sounds really reasonable for all those florals. I'm at about $1900 for a lot less bouquets & pergola pieces.
2- I've heard the quality is excellent. You have to get them delivered I believe 3 days before so they open up.
3- I think a trial with fake flowers is an excellent idea. It might be different size wise but the more practice the better.

I will say my FSIL did all her flowers herself and she said it took A LOT of time and it's the one thing she regrets. So just be prepared time-wise for all the labor involved. That's the main reason you're quote is around $3k. But if you're confident in your abilities, go for it! I think if you practice it'll work out well

I am ordering from fiftyflowers.com, as well as ordering a garland from Costco. I haven't tried making a bouquet yet, but I bought some flowers from trader joes and did a mock up centerpiece with a foam flower holder I bought at the dollar store, and it turned out exactly as I hoped. I have been watching youtube videos like crazy, and I honestly see no problem with doing this myself (and with some help) for the big day. Total cost for me will be $600 for 10 centerpieces, one bridal bouquet, two bm bouquets, three boutonnieres, and ceremony garland with flowers. I also am going for a more "rustic" look for my flowers, so if they don't look perfect, all the better. I think it just depends on how much you care about flowers. Me, not so much. I am totally willing to go the diy route on this if it means I am saving upwards of $1500.

We ordered our flowers from Sam's Club. We used the wedding collection and everything was pre-made. They even have centerpieces that match the bouquets. Our flowers arrived Thursday for our Saturday wedding. The bouquets lasted 2 weeks.

My wedding is in 3 months and I'm researching DIY flowers like crazy because we have a tight budget. It's also a good thing that my fiancé and I don't want a lot of flowers. Our wedding is on the beach and it's not the style we're going for. But I've been looking at Costco, Flower Moxie, Bloominous, Global Rose, and Blooms by the Box.

I'm thinking about going with Flower Moxie, but I need to call them to get a definite price for what I want. DIY is going to take extra work of course, but luckily my MOH (sister) is going to be helping. Hope this helps.

We are using Sams Club for our DIY centerpieces, but we're using Baby's Breath, hydrangeas and something simple like a rose or carnation for an accent piece, so it's not going to be hard to make. They have wonderful prices and if your centerpieces aren't too involved, I would definitely recommend making your own! I went through a florist for 9 bouquets, 13 bouts and 3 corsages and only paid a little over $800. Centerpieces would have put me way over budget.

    Hi!

I'm planning on using HEB blooms for my wedding party flowers too ( a bridal bouquet, a maid of honor bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, petals for the flower girl, 5 bouts, a couple of large centerpieces, and a few medium sized centerpieces). They have great packages with great prices!

For other flower decor, I'm planning on using a ton of baby's breath (they're really pretty and inexpensive) and some sort of colorful spring flower (I'm getting married in March). I don't want to spend too much on flowers, especially if they're just going to wilt and die in a few days. I'm planning on creating my own table centerpieces for the reception to save money. I figured the simpler I kept the centerpiece, the easier it'd be to create.

I hope everything works out for you!
