Father of Groom - where should i have him stand?

Jessica, on June 17, 2019 at 11:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

He kinda made a point when he said he got the suit and would like to be with the rest of the procession. What is your opinion? I was thinking of having stand kinda between my FH and Best Man but a little towards the back almost forming a > look....I don't know I want him to stand out but I already chose the processional and who is walking with who that makes more sense. IDK IDK....help. Oh and here is the "issue" biological father and mother can't stand each other. Step-parents do not like each so the biological parents can't just decide to walk with my FH on each side --their spouses would be upset. So that's that. LOL

This is what I have before his dad:

Best Man ...... My oldest daughter

My son ...... My other daughter

His brother.... Maid of Honor 1

Groomsmen.... Maid of Honor 2

Groomsmen (boyfriend of-->Smiley winking ......His Sister

His other sister and My Sister

Maybe he can walk with the girls at the end and walk all the way to the front of the procession and stand between my FH and best man?

The way we are incorporating grooms parents is their actually going to walk him down the aisle.

Does your FH want him to be part of the ceremony? Typically parents are escorted in and sit down like all other guests only in the front row. If he isn’t a groomsman then I don’t understand why he wants to stand up there. Kinda weird to me but that’s just my opinion.

Oh and here is the "issue" biological father and mother can't stand each other and their ex's won't be happy even if they do walk with him for this purpose so that won't work

His mother married his father's friend/neighbor but 19 years ago. So...that's a no. Here is another little chuckle. My step-dad is walking me down the aisle. My mother already divorced him 16 yrs. ago and she still hates him. He is now re-married and she has a significant other. So yea.... my biological dad was not granted a visa to be here so he can't be there. This is one is for the books Smiley smile) LOL

Depending on how close they are - I would arrange for him to stand appropriately. The best man usually stands next to the groom, so maybe between the best man and the groomsmen will be a good spot. Otherwise have him walk down with the girls and stand towards the end of the line. If they have a great relationship & his father is your FH best friend, then I would stand him between the groom & the best man, but only if that was the case. Just my opinion though Smiley smile

I think it’s a good idea to do that option between both of them
