Hose or no hose?

Lisa, on July 25, 2019 at 12:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19
I'm having a summer outdoor wedding ceremony at a classis, elegant venue (unless it rains of course), and wearing summer glittery sandals. I was not planning on wearing panty hose, what do you all think, too informal?

No hose with sandals if they're flat. Do you have a photo for reference? Dress pic, too?

No, most people don't wear hose anymore. Even when people did wear hose, they generally were not worn with sandals or open-toed shoes.

Woah. The closest I've come to wearing pantyhose in my entire life is dance tights.
You never have to wear pantyhose. Ever.

My dress is long enough so no one will see my legs. No hose for me. I'm worried enough about chub rub.

I loathe stockings/panty hose/tights, so I will not be wearing any. Especially in summer.

Ha! I just had to wear pantyhose and shapewear to a job interview Friday but that's because of the patriarchy! You do you. If you don't want to wear em, don't. It's your day.

You need body glide. Body Glide Original Anti-Chafe Balm, 1.5oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00288L2N6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cfwoDbWNF52EW

I'd test it out well in advance though to make sure it'll work for you and you won't have a reaction. I usually wear a nude lightweight biker short, but it'll be too short and wedding dresses are skimpy, sadly...I'm gonna try for a "modest" dress.

I'm getting married in Livermore, California, at the end of May. For those of you who aren't from the SF Bay Area, let me tell you this is a day that is certain to be HOT! Not middle of August hot, but hot enough! There is no way in hell I'm wearing panty hose!!! I'm not a big fan anyway, but would and do wear them when the occasion calls for it. But not for my wedding. Cool and comfortable are my watch words for the wedding. I'm wearing flat sandals.

I haven't worn panty hose since I was in high school theatre.
    Skip the panty hose.

No hose. Death to pantyhose 😂 I'm in Southern California and most people stopped wearing them around here 20 years ago. Thank goodness!

I won't be, mainly because mine is also in the summer so the only undergarments I care about are the garter and some kind of shape wear to keep my thighs from rubbing while we're outside. Also, the only time anyone will see my leg(s) with either my wedding dress or reception dress (haven't decided if I really even want a reception dress) is when my husband removes the garter so whatever's under my dress won't matter the whole time

Panty hose? In the summer? With sandals? No! Don't wear them. Panty hose are outdated and shouldn't be worn in the summertime. They also shouldn't be worn with open toed shoes.

Thank you all so much for all the great comments. I totally agree! Panty hose are out of style, they are hot in the summer, and should never be worn with open toed shoes. You have all just reaffirmed my decision to not wear them! And I do have a full length gown so no one is going to even see my legs, and I'm not doing the garter thing either. Hate that ridiculous tradition. Thanks again!

I personally cannot stand to wear hose so my vote is no! The only reason I can see that you would wear them is if it makes you more comfortable.

Go with whatever makes you feel comfortable. I'd wear hose, but I normally do for anything remotely dressy.
