We've just decided... ITALY IT IS!!!! Calling all past and present experiences with travel to Italy!!
We've been sacrificing a lot to save the kind of money it takes to go on a trip like this. We're hoping to get to a few different places throughout the country, and we are nervous about paying big bucks for a hotel that isn't worth it. I know there are amazing hotels out there that don't cost over $500 a night! We want to stay in afew nice places to spoil ourselves, but we're also trying to find good deals and rentals possibly where we can pay less and get a more authentic experience! We're going to get some input from a travel agent, but I wanted to hear from others who have possibly been to Italy, or are going for their honeymoon/went on their honeymoon. What are your experiences with Italy? Do you have suggestions for the best hotels? Best deals? Things to look out for? And even things to do?
The current plan is fly from Detroit,MI USA to London, England UK- stay in London a few days. Then fly London to Rome, Italy. After Rome, we want to ferry to Palermo Sicily for a few nights where we will stay on a super cool docked boat (The Lady Christa! Only $80 per night WOW for an incredible experience!), and then ferry over to Salerno which is on the Amalfi Coast (a dream!)
Thanks in advance ladies and gentlemen! Happy planning, can't wait to hear about your past experiences or future plans!
