Minimoon for under $1500

Ashley, on August 26, 2019 at 3:15 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

Hey everyone! Due to limited vacation time at work and a close friend's wedding right after ours, we're considering pushing off our Italy honeymoon until the following spring. We've been talking about doing a mini moon for 5-6 nights right after the wedding. Any suggestions for us?

Requirements:

• Relaxing is a must – ideally we'd be able to disappear from the world for a little. It would be nice to have the option of driving into a town for dinner/drinks if possible, though.

• NO beaches – we are not beach bums and are more the woodsy/adventure type (we don't want Florida or the Carolinas, but would be okay with somewhere like Cape Cod or Maine – different type of beaches)

• Flying is fine, but if not, we'd prefer to have a 4 hour drive or less (we're located in Syracuse, NY)

• Ideally we'd keep the budget to **** for lodging/flights if not driving.

Renting a cabin in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is always a good time to me Smiley love There's plenty of shops and touristy stuff to entertain yourselves during the days, and generally they have lots of honeymoon cabins with large spa-like bathtubs, bedrooms with fireplaces, and hot tubs overlooking the woods!

We're going to Burlington, VT for ours Smiley smile We wanted to be close to water, be able to stay somewhere a little off the beaten path, but be close enough to civilization that we can do some things (my fiance loves breweries so we'll be doing some of that!). Might be worth checking in to? I also personally love Maine - Acadia is gorgeous.

I'm sure you'll find some place perfect for you guys!

I would look up resorts & spas within a 2-4 hour drive. You can stay a few nights, take walks/hikes, get a couples’ massage, and try other classes they offer.

Look up Panama Jack Resorts! They're having a big sale until the end of September and you could easily get accommodations for around that price range. It's an all inclusive in MexicoSmiley smile

    Hey there, Ashley!

Lake Placid is about a 4 hour drive from you in Syracuse, would you consider there as a mini-moon destination?

There is lots to do in the area including visiting the Olympic sites, hiking trails, kayaking, etc.

Have you or your FS been before?

We love Lake Placid! That’s the exact feeling we’re looking for, but we go all the time so would like it to be somewhere new! Love that you can relax but also walk around the village and get food/drinks. Just want to see a new place for this!

Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake? It would be fun to check out wineries there.
