New Zealand

Robyn, on September 9, 2018 at 1:57 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

Hi! I’m looking to do 2 weeks in New Zealand, traveling from NYC. Anyone have tips on how to put this together? I’m feeling overwhelmed... willing to go via travel agency but want to understand what that entails. Never planned an international trip that wasn’t a cruise or resort!

We did 1 weeks on North island last year over Thanksgiving. Here is our itinerary - we rented a car, very easy to do in NZ. I think it's hard to get around if you don't intend to rent a car on the North island.

    Auckland 2 nights
    Waiheke wine tour
Drove to Lord of the rings for a day tour
Drove to Rotura for 2 nights
Visited the geyser & the craters
Drove to Lake Taupo (2 night stay)
Hiked Tongario trail (12 miles - amazing, but be sure to book a shuttle in advance if you intend to do this)
Drove to Waitomo caves for a day tour, jumped off waterfalls
Drove back to Auckland for the night before our departure

Robyn, New Zealand is my DREAM honeymoon!!!

I'm so jealous of you!!! I'm linking below our WeddingWire honeymoon guide for New Zealand. It has some helpful travel tips and must-sees while you're there!!

If you're thinking about getting a travel agent, they should be able to help you put this all together! I know planning your first international trip is very difficult. I'm currently planning a trip to Africa (the first international trip I've planned by myself) and I'm very overwhelmed as well! I've found the AirTreks website to be a very good resource - it provides an awesome checklist and timeline!

What made you and your FS pick New Zealand?!
