Not going on honeymoon right away

We get married in March, our honeymoon is in June! I'm in graduate school and it's not really feasible for me to do a honeymoon in March. Even though we're getting married during Spring Break, we'll be going abroad for a little over two weeks, and I can't miss that much school. I think it's fairly common these days for people to take delayed honeymoons, I'd much rather take one later and be able to spend all the time/money that I want then to go on one sooner (unless it's a mini-moon, which is different)

We get married in May and plan to take a honeymoon in the fall because we want to get a cabin in the mountains. Plus I'll have more PTO time then too so it works perfect.

We are going a month after our wedding.

We're taking a few days off after as a mini moon. Might rent an air bnb in Cape May just to decompress and enjoy each others company. Definitely not a full fledged honeymoon though!

Our wedding was in December and we took our honeymoon the following October. We still took some time off after the wedding but just used that time to relax and unwind after the wedding. It was also Christmas week so enjoyed spending time with family.

We are getting married in June, and plan to take our honeymoon the following Fall. Nothing wrong with waiting

I have chronic pain and the medication I need limits where we can travel right now. We're waiting until I'm in better shape.

We'll be getting married in May but won't be going until August!
My aunt also got married in December and couldn't go on honeymoon until April. You're fine for waiting!

I got married last March and we didn't take our honeymoon until July. Similar it's difficult for both of us to take a lot of time off of work all at once. We got married about 1 1/2 hours from our house, so we stayed out in the hotel there for an extra day (married Saturday and went home Monday). We also took Tuesday and Wednesday off and stayed in a hotel in Boston (we live right outside there) and saw a concert just to have another little getaway. I really liked waiting for the honeymoon. It gave us something to look forward to after the wedding. It wasn't all over in one quick rush. It is also gave us time in between to save and plan. We didn't have to worry about booking everything on top of wedding planning which was nice (we went to Africa for our honeymoon and needed to get vaccinations and treat our clothes with insect spray and stuff like that, so it was nice to not have to worry about that on top of last minute stuff for the wedding). It still felt very special and we told people it was our honeymoon and got bottles of wine and free dessert and stuff like that. I would recommend waiting to anyone. It just makes everything less rushed.

We are going 2 months after our wedding just so that we can use 4th of July as an extra day off!

We got married in Oct 2018 and our honeymoon is May 2019. We were in the same boat. We did a small trip within 3 hours of our home Sunday, Monday and Tuesday so we could decompress and spend time together before heading back to work Wednesday. It was the perfect amount of time and now we have something to still look forward to in May!

We got married in August and took our honeymoon in October. When we booked the honeymoon, I didn't think I would be able to take two back to back weeks off of my internship, but it turned out that we were actually required to take 2 full weeks off to be in compliance with our accreditation body. Because of that, we ended up taking the entire week off of work the week following the wedding. The delayed honeymoon was not any less special! I did have one person make a crappy comment about our honeymoon not being right after the wedding, but most people thought it was a smart idea since you're so exhausted and drained after the wedding anyway.

I'm doing this as well! Honeymoon is in June and ends a little after the 4th of July, just so I have a freebie vacay day

We aren't going on a honeymoon right away either. We r waiting like 6 mths after wedding.

We are getting married October of 2020 and waiting until the following October to go on honeymoon that way we don’t have to stress about even more money going towards something.

We are getting married in July and am hoping to take our "honeymoon" for our one year anniversary. A honeymoon just isn't in the budget for us right now, not to mention our youngest will be 15 months old at that time and I'm not ready to leave her yet. I'm not sure if it will be a honeymoon just the two of us or a lavish family vacation, but I'm starting to work on the details and put money aside for it.

We got married in October 2018 and we really haven't planned our honeymoon yet. It's hard for my husband to leave for any extended period of time, as he owns a trucking business and there is always something that needs to be done. Also, we still have kids at home, so it's not easy to leave. We plan on doing something next year when they will be a bit older and will have an adult sibling close by that can stay with them.

There’s no perfect way to do it, and the wait certainly seems worth it. It also seems like a great way to prevent post wedding woes.

We're taking ours about a week after our wedding. Same concept of not wanting to miss the work.
