Outfits for engagement shoot

We had to change everything about our e-pic shoot last minute (time, location, outfits, not bringing our dogs). The pictures turned out great, but I didn't really like what I wore. If you can, bring something you can easily swap out if you don't like your first choice such as shoes or a top.

I loved what we wore, but I bought a few outfits in the months/weeks leading up to it to experiment with at home. I would put an outfit on and take a selfie to see how it translated in a picture. I got my inspiration from Pinterest. I knew that I wanted to wear ivory and red and that I wanted him to wear black and jeans. Here are some pics to show what we wore.

I found this white dress on Amazon for 26 bucks! Quality is ok but it did the trick! FH wore this flannel and I think it looked well with what I was wearing. My main reason for wanting to wear a white dress was so I would have one for my bachelorette party or bridal shower LOL

I'd say if one of you has patterns, then the other might want to be solid.

Thank you. Our original plan was to wear Washington Caps shirts (we're both big fans) with our dogs in matching bandanas at the place where my FH proposed. Nope.

It was 100+ degrees, humid as heck, and our photographer was stuck in traffic 45 minutes away. We went home changed and met her halfway to another location.

Lake Arrowhead

I prefer to avoid busy patterns for photos. Especially if you're going to be outside where there's a lot going on in the background. I also think being too matching doesn't look great. The colors should coordinate, but be different so if there's some shots of you in the distance you don't look like you're one big blob. However I've never seen awful engagement photos. It's hard for them to be awful when two people are so happy and in love!

We coordinated our outfits. We did a theme of our personalities country, I have no regrets on our outfits. Do something that says you, your style and personalities. Don't do super matchy like family photos where they all wear the same shirt color. Try small color matching.

We brought several different outfits with. The only thing I was not super happy with is that I forgot One of my outfits that would have been super great with out photos. Other than that I loved our photos and outfits. We had both solids and patterned outfits with an outdoor (fall) background. I would also suggest theming! It makes for some fun photos. My fh and I both love Disney (it’s where he proposed) so we did some themed shoots (Cinderella) and some with props (lightsabers and Minnie and Mickey ears)

I found my dress on Lulus.com and absolutely loved it for our engagement photoshoot! My FH put together his outfit to coordinate with me. I loved our outfits! Here's some pics from our engagement photoshoot.
