Over or Under: 4k Honeymoon?

Maggie, on September 11, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 154

In 2017, couples spent an average of $4,000 on their honeymoon (10 percent of their total budget!). Are you splurging or saving on your honeymoon? Are you over or under $4,000? (We don’t need specifics if you’re not comfortable sharing them, just let us know if you’re over or under!)

Another honeymoon fun fact: Couples spent on average seven to nine days on their honeymoons! Nine days of rest and relaxation is well worth the cost. Smiley smile

Over, around $6k. We are doing a week long trip in the Caribbean with several excursions and an all-inclusive resort and spa. At this point, my FH and I are looking forward to that more than the wedding lol.

Over. I think it was about $3- 3.5k for hotel and flights. We probably spent close to $1k while we were gone.

We still haven't booked one Smiley cry FH is in between jobs right now so we can't really plan something not know what his schedule & vacation time will be like. I am hoping to keep it under 4k, however.

Under. We booked an Air BnB a few hours drive from our home for a week. House rental cost approx. $2000 and includes an hour-long couples massage. Our only other costs will be food, gas and any activities we decide to do (less than $500). For the most part, we plan to just hang out and relax at the house.

Way Under! Our honeymoon will be on our one year anniversary but we are taking a "mini-moon" right after the wedding which is why it will be very low cost.

Over, I don’t know the exact number yet, but just the resort was around $4,800 and the flights will be almost $2k. Plus we will go on an excursion or two. But that’s for all-inclusive, so at least we don’t have to worry about drinks and food.

Over. We splurged a bit and allowed ourselves $5,000 for our honeymoon. With travel insurance, it was just slightly lower than that. We did 6 nights/7 days an all-inclusive, all-adults resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with an upgraded room. It was wonderful.

Under! We booked a romantic cabin in the Smoky Mountains for a week! We plan to snowboard, tube, ski, visit Asheville, NC and also hang out in Gatlinburg, TN.

We're from Florida so we are pumped to have a very wintery romantic honeymoon! Since its winter time the nightly cabin rates were lower. We got a gorgeous cabin with a hot tub, huge game room, large fireplace, entertainment center, and an awesome kitchen for about $700 total. All of the winter activities and of course eating will probably equal about another $1000. We plan on coming in at around $2,000 but that isn't including the $300 we just dropped on snow gear, boots, etc just to stay warm!

    We are soooo excited!

We're actually in the process of booking now!! We're looking at around **** for flights and all inclusive resort for a week in Punta Cana, so a bit over average. We also want to do a couples massage and at least 1 excursion.

We're definitely under! We've decided to take a road trip up north in Michigan and spend some time exploring the scenic spots like Pictured Rocks, different water falls up there, and spending some time in Mackinac Island. Short honeymoon but I look forward to spending it with my FH.

Will probably be right at that number. $3200 for resort and flights to Jamicia for 6 nights. Another $1,000 to spend on new clothes and to spend there.

Not sure yet. The plan was around 5k but we went and decided to buy a house (we're under contract now) so we might just do a mini long weekend honeymoon after the wedding to Yellowstone and then save up and go do our original plan in a few years.
