I also vote San Diego. I loved their beaches, parks, and zoos when I went there on vacation.

You’re right, my sister lives there so I was kind of avoiding San Diego, becuase I wanted to go somewhere that friends or family wouldn’t put pressure on us to visit.

There are so many great places to see in SOCAL (I live there).
Catalina Island is very nice, but on the pricey side. There is Venice beach, Santa Monica, Long Beach...
Hollywood could be fun too. There are so many museums and great restaurants and things to do in SOCAL. The coast is beautiful as well.

Thank you! I live here too and I’m struggling to choose something. My FH is in the Navy and will be home for a month on leave so we wanted to stay close by but I just don’t know what to do. We always go to San Diego and Orange County but I’m not sure if that’s where we should go.

All of California is simply gorgeous with lots to do. I guess I am biased since I live here (in So Cal). Northern California - San Francisco and Napa/Sonoma Valley. Central California - Paso Robles and Santa Barbara and Solvang. Southern California - Los Angeles, Rancho Palos Verdes, Laguna Beach, San Diego, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach.

I would also recommend the Central California idea - Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, Solvang area. FH and I just did a week in California and those few days was one of our favorite parts of the trip. I loved San Diego but might be bias as that's where we got engaged!

Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes is gorgeous and there are plenty of fun activities you guys can do in addition to their spa. They have art, fitness, hiking, and water sports classes (group or private). I went with my mom and sis on a trip and they customized a 5-course food/wine tasting dinner for us. You could easily spend several days here as a mini-moon and not be bored but never have to leave the resort/beach!

If you're into more of a quaint looking place, try Julian or Solvang! both are super super cute towns!
