Wedding band regret.

Bridget, on March 19, 2019 at 4:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33

Hi all,

Sooo when I first began looking into wedding bands I had my heart set on a mismatched milgrain marquise wedding band. The more I started to look I really liked the idea of an enhancer. I was looking on twobirch.com and loved their vintage enhancer they offer but I wasn't ready to spend $800.00 on something I wouldn't see until It got shipped to me so I kept looking and saw a local jewelry store had everything 40% off for their 40th anniversary. So I went there and I got this enhancer but lately I've been searching and looking at other bands and I feel like I might have made the wrong choice. I feel like this enhancer swallows my ring rather than showing it off. I apologize the picture quality is terrible because of the lighting in my room but its the only photo that I have at the moment.

I think your ring looks beautiful with the enhancers, but if you aren’t happy with it, are you able to return or sell them and get something different?

It looks beautiful. STOP looking at other rings! You are setting yourself up for regret by continuing your search and comparing.

I had the same challenge when trying on bands, felt my solitaire was getting lost. That said, I REALLY loved the enhancer’s style. Ultimately I had the jewelry store seperate them so I could stack my e-ring on the top. I’ve seen it done and am hopeful it turns out as planned (still waiting to pick it up from the “repair”). Hard to tell in this photo as they aren’t separated yet...

As someone who works in a jewelry store I think the enhancer shows the ring just as much. And I think it looks great and complements the ring nicely! However if you dont like it then see if you can use the stones and or trade the gold value of that one toward another you prefer. Granted you may loose some money but you dont have to be out completely. And i agree see if they will allow you to trade it in I'm not sure how long you have had it! Also be sure you love whatever it is YOU and no one else are the one that will be wearing it. Smiley winking

Thank you! I think my issue is it’s not what I thought I would be getting in the beginning so I keep going back to that. I work in healthcare too so I’ve been looking just for a cheap band to wear there rather than the whole set. Which has led to this whole thing lol your right I need to just stop though!

This will look gorgeous! That’s exactly what I’ve been wishing I got lately, I was looking at cheaper versions just to wear to work. When I go to the jewelry store to have my band and e ring sized together I’ll try on other styles and compare but because I got my ring at such a great price I would be losing out on a good chunk of money on a trade in.

I have had it since Black Friday and they do take trade ins valued at what you paid. I should go and try on some of the bands to compare but I got an awesome deal on this one and it’s valued at much higher than I paid. Thank you for the advice!

Thank you! I am able to trade it in. I’ll check out some of their other bands and see what I think next time I’m in there. I think I will like it more once I’m able to actually wear it lol

If you are looking for a cheap one to wear at work, and you don't mind the silicon rings. Look at Groove.com. I got my FH ring from there and he really likes it, he is a tractor mechanic so he needed something that would deglove his finger is something happened.
I also plan on getting one myself.

Sometimes I think enhancers can swallow rings under a certain carat amount simply because enhancers (to me) look over-powering. Every single ring is gorgeous and beautiful on it's own but its about finding a complimenting wedding band, not an overpowering one.

This is totally my personal preference.

A lot of enhancers I looked at made my e-ring look swallowed as well and felt bulky on my hand. I went with a simple wedding band with diamonds all the way around. It made my solitaire e-ring look bigger and more impressive next to the wedding band rather than taking away from its beauty!

I’ve looked into those I just worry that the silicone would get water trapped under it from washing my hands so much and irritate my skin. I should just try one though!

I know that’s my issue with this one. I just feel like it too much for my ring, I am probably just overthinking it because I loved it when I first got it but every band I see with my ring is a simple diamond band and that looks appeals to me as well. I like that mine looks different now but I worry that it’s swallowing it!

Im not sure if it would. I know Groove has a warranty on their rings that if it is ever lost or broken, you can get a new one

I think yours is gorgeous, very vintage- looking. And like you said, such a great deal.

If you decide not to trade it in, maybe you could still consider getting it separated (in my case it was free with the warranty)? That way you could wear it as shown on both sides, stack it, or wear one half of it when you feel like it. Then maybe down the road on a special occasion you can add the other shape you’ve been considering into the mix. You’d just have lots of options and be able to keep your ring.

I had a similar feelings. But mine is because it was so expensive! I hate spending lots of money on myself and since I’m having regrets the only natural thing for me to do is keep looking. But My FH loves it so that is a big advantage to keeping it. I think yours looks great! To me it looks meant to be and some other posters had some great suggestions!

I chose something different then what I originally wanted too. As for a cheap option to wear to work (or other places like the beach, etc.) I found these silicone rings on Amazon that I plan to get for when I don't want to risk wearing my good band:

I actually think the enhancer looks beautiful with your ring and in general I am not one who likes them. However, you have to be happy with it since you will be looking at your ring for the rest of your life. Can you return it?

I think these look good together! It complements your ring nicely. I also went with an enhancer for my solitaire.... some of them looked way too big for my finger so I went with a very simple yet elegant enhancer. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as it gets here!
