We met through a friend, the last thing either of us were expecting much less looking for was love. I guess it always comes when you aren't looking for it, right? Three years down the line, I'm envisioning the perfect opportunity for him to ask me to marry him...would have to be when we travel down to San Diego for the Lana Del Rey concert. Her music has meant so much to us and been such a focal point throughout our relationship, but I figured there was no way he'd be thinking the same thing as me much less have it actually planned out already. I guess we are more in sync than I ever realized, because our magical trip was made so much more special when he knelt down on one knee just before the concert. Keeping our anniversary the same, we'll say I Do July 21st of this year. We are doing a 50's theme, and having so much fun planning it. I love that my honey listens to me, to my words and to the things I don't say too. He knows me and I know him, and so I've come to learn a kind of happiness I never knew existed.

    That is too cute Alexis!!

Our story goes back to before we even thought about getting with each other. My nana and his grandmother went to high school together, his great uncle was my mother's pallbearer when I was five along with his cousin being one of the preachers at her funeral. We went to high school together and remembered each other from jr. high since I was a cheerleader for an opposing team. We never really talked in high school although we we had a class together. We graduated in 2011, by 2014 I had tried to hang out with him but never got the chance. December 8, 2017 he messaged me to listen to his band's new song (he still asks for my input for their music) and we just talked from there. He made me realize the toxic relationship I was in was not good and I made the decision to leave that and date my now future husband. February 14, 2018 he told me he wanted to date, loved me and loved my nana. Perk was my dog loves him! We have been inseparable since December 29, 2017 as friends and now as future Mr. and Mrs. He asked just out of the blue to say he knows that he wouldn't want a day without me since he wouldn't be able to find someone else to deal with his weirdness. We are to marry October 12, 2019 a few days before my mom's birthday at a state park here in Tennessee as we both love nature and hiking. I am nervous and excited!

I’m really blown away by the relationship I have now. It’s anazing.
weve known each other for several years (19). We met when he worked with my ex husband( then husband). After our breakup my ex tried to set us up on a couple of different occasions. Never actually made it happen. We’ve both asked each other out a few times through the years and didn’t make it happen. This last time it worked and we’ve never looked back.

Im from a small town called Huntley, IL where I met my fiance about 10 years ago in 8th grade. We had a crush on each other then but as we were kids, we didn't know how to act upon things. So as time past, we went through out school together as friends and dating other people. Once we graduated, we went out separate ways as we were both in relationships and school was elsewhere. Last year, I got out of a relationship and reconnected with him at a bar for trivia. A week later we started dating and had been the happiest we both have been in years. Little did I know that 6 months later, wed be getting engaged in a park, in the snow, in front of the Art Institute of Chicago Museum.

This is copy and pasted from our wedding website:

Michael and Nikita's relationship is the story of how two conflicting personalities can become complimentary with respect - and some time.

Michael was born and in raised in Pottstown (a Philadelphia suburb) with a paintbrush is his hand. He had big city dreams and an eclectic set of hobbies such as sports, scouts, all things nerd, and stamp collecting. Nikita, contrarily, was born in a big city (Boston), but spent most of her formative years in the Pennsylvania mountains playing in the woods and her cousins' cornfields. Her dreams were of a quiet, simple life - circling around books, playing music, and psychology.

Here starts the beginning of a structured artist and a dreamer scientist.

They met at Kutztown University and didn't really hit it off. They were part of a leadership team together - quickly learning they made poor co-workers! It took another 7 years before very different sparks began to fly.

Michael and Nikita re-connected at the wedding of two great friends. There were seated at the same table. Before the tent filled, Nikita and Michael began talking. Michael slid over next to her and swapped the place cards. They've been inseparable ever since.

    Here is our story-

I met my future spouse in the 1st grade in 1980s. ( yes we are old). We were in the same class all through elementary school and in some classes through middle and high school. Didn't matter we were best friends and were always at the same functions in and out of school. Dances, birthday parties etc it didn't matter we were always there. However, we didn't have our 1st date until January 1991.. it was great.. However it was our last. We still remained friends throughout the years..

So fast forward 2017, Both of us have children and have been divorced. I happened to post a video on my Facebook page around Christmas of my Son In Law's military homecoming. He was in town for Christmas (he lives out of state. I'm in KY and he is in VA) He sent me a message. He was going through a divorce and needed a friend. I was always there for him and vice versa. We talked for a bit then he left. After a month or so, we reconnected. We had a 2nd date in Feb 2018 and we never looked back.

December 7th he asked me to marry him. (it was fast but sometimes you just know) I said YES! He has been my best friend for years and truly my soulmate. We just took some bad turns over the years but we got it right FINALLY.

Wedding is Sept 19, 2019.. Here's to the future!

Hi! Jay and I met when he was 11 and I was 13 in a kids kind of support group. I was his "first love". We were super close but I didn't feel "that" way about him. He pretty much proposed to me before his first marriage in 1999. I was his "best woman" at the wedding. I tried to convince him not to marry her. Anyway, years went by, we were in contact then not, then contact throughout the years. He even took care of my kitty while I lived in Germany. He became very ill after a surgery in 2017 and I saw it on Facebook and called him immediately. He says he was surrounded by friends and whispered "omg it's her". We started talking and I have no idea how, but he uncorked my bottle, helping me at 48 to remember who I really was, and we fell in love over the phone. I live in San Diego - he in Sacramento. He drove down to meet me for a weekend and rented an Air B&B at an avocado farm. As soon as I saw him I sat on his lap and cried and cried. We hadn't seen each other face to face in many years at that point. He was so sure (though I was scared I wouldn't feel the same in person) that he already had the ring (chocolate diamonds) and even had bought his ring! He proposed to me his 2nd day we were together. He had kept telling me he was going to marry me but I had no idea he was serious! He moved within a month down to be with me in San Diego and we have been together a bit over a year and a half. We are getting married in Sacramento - most of our friends and family are in the Bay Area. We rented a huge house on the river where family can stay and we are full on organizing our wedding. He is so into it. I sometimes call him Groomzilla. We are so in love. I still have poetry he wrote me when we were practically kids. I'm going to have a poem read at the wedding. We didn't choose a theme but it turned quickly into a bird theme, Robin & Jay :-) It's an amazing story. We only wish we had gotten together much younger when we both went through the pains of life, but it's ok, we hope to have many years to come and grow old together like we had planned even before the in love part came. Wedding is August 3rd! My family is so happy for us - we have loved each other for 35 years and they have always known about Jay. We are so blessed.

Jared and I met through friends. We have mutual friends that are dating so we got hooked up. I was a single mom at the time and really wasn't looking for anything but my girlfriend said it was a must and to meet Jared. We went kayaking on our first date and it went amazing. We went swimming, Jared went fishing and we kayaked. After that first date we continued to see each other, and soon after we fell in love. Almost three years later and we are getting married! Jared proposed to me in December of 2017, but we both agreed to wait to get married since we were expecting a baby boy in July 2018. So here we are, with two beautiful children, planning a wedding. I am so excited to get married to my bestfriend in 2020!

We are high school sweethearts! I was in the same year of school as his younger brother, so I always knew of him, but we never talked. One day, my Junior year and his Senior, he walked up to me during lunch and started a random conversation. A few days later I asked him to be my boyfriend. I had never been in a serious relationship (I mean I was 16!), but I had a feeling about him. He proposed to me during Christmas of 2018 and we are still deciding on a date for the wedding. We own a beautiful piece of property and plan on having a small ceremony in our back yard with a larger reception of about 300 people somewhere in our hometown. My dream wedding is something elegant. I want candles and flowers everywhere and I want my guests to have a great time. I think I am most excited about dress shopping! (My dress and my girls' dresses). He wants to have our honeymoon in Hawaii, but I'm sort of thinking Italy. We still have a little time to discuss that. If I had to choose one thing that I love most about my Future Husband, it would be how caring he is. He is truly one of a kind!
