What’s your wedding dress budget?

Trisha, on January 23, 2019 at 7:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 369
Just started my dress search and visited a shop this past weekend where I tried on some dresses and the dresses I liked fell into the $2500-$3000 range. I don’t necessarily have a budget, but I’m kind of uneasy about purchasing a dress I will only wear once. But again, I don’t want to limit myself too. But I do think I should set a budget. So I just wanted to get an idea what everyone else’s budget is and which designer did go with? The dresses I liked were either Pronovias or Sottero & Midgley.

TIA!

I gave myself a budget of $2,500 but I would have gone up to $3,000 if necessary. I had my dress and veil custom made and it came to just under $2,500. I purchased the highest quality silk chiffon and imported chantilly lace so that is where more than half of my budget went. The other half went towards the dressmaker's labor.

My budget was 1000 at the most. I went To David’s and found one that was over that. (By like 250&dollarSmiley winking I did justify it because I loved It but ended up getting a price adjustment later on (the dress was discounted a week after I bought it) I paid about 900$ total. I tried going to find one of the stores that sell floor models. I actually did find one that I liked but it didn’t wow me. I’m so glad I did End up spending more money.

My budget was $5,000 but I ended up finding a dress that was around $3,000 and alterations were another $500. My dress was Martina Liana. I read that your attire/beauty budget should be 5-10% of your overall wedding budget.

I set a budget of $1,000, but my mom was willing to go up to $1,800 if I fell in love with a dress for that much. I ended up falling in love with a dress that ended up being about $1,650, which included the alterations I needed. I absolutely loved my Essence of Australia gown Smiley love

I wanted to spend $200 before alterations, was willing to spend $500 and ended up spending $800 lol! Totally worth it and our engagement ended up being longer than I thought (I bought my dress before we set a date) so the extra money didn’t really matter in the long run.

My budget is $2000. The few places I've gone to- the dresses fit comfortable within this budget

When I was looking originally, we set the dress budget around $2000 ywith a little wiggle room to $2500 for the right dress. Unfortunately, even after agreeing on this budget with FH, I had a number in my mind that I didn't want to exceed, and that was $500. I got my wish and found the perfect Maggie Sottero dress for $200 second hand, but I worked tirelessly to find the dress of my dreams for the right price. It took me over 6 months of dress appointments, scouring the internet, and searching thrift stores to find it. I think if I couldn't find it, I would have spent the money we had budgeted instead of setting for something cheap, but I LOVE a bargain and am so happy with my choice so it all worked out.

My budget was $500, went to DB and found one for $499 plus tax. So I went over budget just a bit. Haven’t done alterations yet, no idea how much that will run.

My mom told me to pick my budget but knowing me I went lower since I almost NEVER stay on budget so I said $2000 to $2500 and I saw a lot of dresses I liked in my budget but felt in love with a dress that was $2999 and a $450 veil even before knowing the price of the dress.

I was planning to buy a dress myself for 1000 or under. The one I ended up getting was 1400, but that's only because my mom offered to pay. I saw so many beautiful dresses for around 1200 though.

Even with $1500-$2500 you'll find some great designer dresses!

My budget was $2200. My customized bodysuit was $1350 and my skirt was $450 = $1800 (plus alterations). My reception dress I scored for less than $200 (plus alterations).

Plan for $300-$600 in alterations, just in case. That gets pricey.

My budget was $1000 with a little wiggle room if needed. My dress was $1300 after tax. I originally wanted to budget $2000 but kept feeling guilty since it's a dress I'll only wear once. So that brought me to my final budget. I had a lot of options around my price range.

My mom said she's going to pay for my dress so it's ultimately up to her, but I wouldn't feel comfortable going over $1,000.

My budget was $1500 and I ended up getting really lucky. My dress was originally priced at $1,000... got marked down to $499 and then got marked down again to $100. Even though I didn't intend to buy a dress that day (we were just browsing) I couldn't leave w/o it!

I got the second designer you like and paid $400 for it on Tradesy as a sample sell. I really didn't want to break the bank on a dress. Alterations are $175 so $575 for my dress and l am in love with her and want to be burried in her! 😂

I was also in $1000 range, and found mine for 900 something. But I was dead set on not going over that. My parents gift is to pay for the dress (they did that for my siblings so I knew they would for me) but due to some major health issues the past couple years and being slammed with crazy medical bills, I felt guilty even accepting that amount.
