When should i send out my invitations?

Stephanie, on July 20, 2019 at 9:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 14
My wedding is October 5th and my RSVP deadline is September 5th. I always hear 6 weeks before the wedding but then that would only give my guests two weeks to RSVP. I was thinking about sending the invitations out this upcoming week (July 22 between July 26) but I am worried it is too early. What do you think? Thank you in advance! Smiley smile

My wedding is October 9th and I sent invitations last week. I don't think it's too early, especially if you are expecting a lot of out of town guests. We are, so I thought I would send the invitations a little earlier than recommended. Plus, I would like my final headcount by September 15th for various reasons.

I am getting married on October 12 and I sent my invitations last week with a RSVP date of Aug 3. Our venue requires a final headcount 30 days prior to the wedding and we wanted to give ourselves time to make adjustments before providing that information to them.

I'm getting married the same day. We sent our invitations two weeks ago because we have a lot of out of town guests. Our RSVP deadline is 8/28 to give us a few days to follow up with those we haven't heard from. I would send yours out this week Smiley smile

I sent my invitations out in May and the deadline to RSVP was June and my wedding is in july. It just depends. I think 30 days is more than enough time for them to decide if they are attending especially if your wedding was announced months before with save the dates!

Ours is October 20th and our rsvp date is sept 6th. I counted 8 weeks back from there. We have half the guest list coming from out of state too. We mailed ours this past Monday.

My wedding is October 13 and we are sending invites the week of August 11th. People will get them by around the 15th of August and RSVP deadline is September 16th. So they get 4 full weeks. As soon as we get no’s, we start sending out B list, and those RSVP deadlines are September 23rd.

Aaand reading some of y’alls timelines I may scoot that up a week and send A list out August 5th! Although almost everyone coming from out of town knows about it already.

I'm also getting married October 5th Smiley love Our RSVP date is September 9th with our final headcount due on September 21st (giving myself an almost 2 week window for RSVP stragglers). I plan on sending the invitations out August 5th. Maybe a couple of days earlier if I get too excited! Smiley laugh

I am also getting married October 5th and just mailed out my invites this week. (Wanted to sooner, but just moved into a new house so life has been a little chaotic Smiley tongue) They will arrive about 7 weeks prior to the wedding and guests will have just over 3 weeks to RSVP (September 7th). I sent out Save the Dates so I think those are helpful when you are sending invites at the shorter time-frame window.

Hey, congrats! My wedding is October 5th as well. We sent our invites out to land within the last ten days to last week of July, actually (much like your intended time) because of how many people we were asking, and many of them live out of state; and several out of the country. We made our RSVP date Aug 30. And, the USPS's reliability is tenuous at best, so we hedged our bets. We knew it's generally recommended to wait a bit longer to send out invites so the event would be 'fresher in people's minds' and they wouldn't have time to forget about it, but I've been alive long enough to know the people I'm inviting - and having more time was definitely better. Smiley laugh Still, there are a few lollygaggers left so now I'm debating how to approach them, since the invites and every subsequent communication have gone unanswered. But that's a whole other story.
