Whitening treatment

Mrs.Sutphen, on February 3, 2018 at 10:02 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 25

I am currently 83 days from my wedding and I was wondering about whitening treatment for your teeth. Did anyone else use whitening treatment? What one worked best for you?

I use Crest strips. They work well. But they make my teeth sensitive so instead of every day I use them 2-3xs/week for less than the recommended time for a few weeks. It also allows for a more gradual whitening so it’s over the course of a month instead of a week

I talk to a lot of dentists for my job, weirdly enough. Based on their feedback, I'd say skip Zoom chairside whitening -- it just dries your teeth out. Look for a dentist that offers a brand called Opalescence and ask if they also offer at-home touch-up kits with the same day service, just in case. Good luck!

I have used the Crest Professional Whitening that you get custom trays made at the dentist. I got it as part of a promotion and used it as instructed. It barely whitened my teeth and I feel like I wasted $80. I've also used Crest Whitening Strips that you can get on Amazon, department stores and pharmacies and it's so much better than the professional kit from the dentist. Crest strips are great when you need to have your teeth whitened fast. Crest strips make my teeth sensitive so if you havent used them before do so with caution. Also Doterra toothpaste does a great job of whitening teeth and removing plaque. The Doterra toothpaste has whitened my teeth better than anything else I have used. Its not a quick fix though like the strips.

I've heard good things about this but haven't tried it. I'll be trying it soon.

I use crest 3D whitening toothpaste, crest 3D whitening mouthwash, and crest 3D whitening strips...my teeth are looking great. You have to be careful not to damage your teeth and make sure to still use products that prevent cavities.

I agree. My aunt sold opalescence for a while...and hooked a lucky niece up with samples. Besides how awesome and freshening the toothpaste is, the Whitening trays make a huge difference, and very quickly.

I’ve spent hundred of dollars on over the counter whitening treatments and I have to say the best thing for at home whitening is a electrical toothbrush it was Recomened to my fiancé father by his dentist years ago and he told his son and I went ahead and bought one and we have seen a big differences it polishes the teeth now for tooth paste I use remdant it works but it’s super strong now my best adivce is to goon Groupon and get the densit whitening visit because they will do a profissional job since that’s what they get paid for that is my plan I will do this at least 2 weeks before the wedding I have friends who have done it and it last about six months so you’ll have very white teeth for your wedding day like I said check groupon they always have coupons and sale for that stuff no matter your location

Thanks for the recc! I'm getting my braces off soon and have been looking into whitening. I saw online that my dentist does Zoom which I was going to ask about, but I've never heard of Opalescence. Is it an in office or a take home thing? I've heard that Zoom works super well, but is also very painful.

Opalescence does both take home and in office -- I think they're called "Go" and "Boost," respectively. One of my clients, talking about Zoom!, told me go to home and run my hairdyer on my teeth -- it's the same effect o.O I've also been told by dentists that their in office gel isn't any fancier than the over the counter stuff..it's just that they use custom trays so the gel stays put. If you so decide to do Zoom, use a fluoridated toothpaste for two weeks before treatment and ask the dentist is they have any post-treatment sensitivity recommendations.

I use crest white strips & they are everything!! I consider myself to have sensitive teeth and they are more sensitive to temperature for about an hour after I take them off then I’m good to go!

I got some from dental office and i only did it 1 day. Id rather keep my yellow teeth than go through that horrible shooting pain of sensitivity i felt... my fiance loves me this way already so forget it lol

I love Crest whitestrips. I use the 7-day ones, but I only do them once a week. I saw a difference after just the first time! I also use the Colgate Optic White toothpaste, but that’s mainly because I like the taste of it the best.

I’ve used the Crest White Strips express. They’ve worked really well and have been so much cheaper than the professional options.

Hi, I work in a dental office and I would definitely say stay away from zoom. Your best option is to have your dentist make you custom bleaching trays so you can bleach your teeth at home for two weeks everyday for 45mins to a hour. Or sometimes custom trays are expensive if you want OTC crest is your best option. I recommend using syensodne toothpaste while whitening will help with any sensitivity.

    Hi,

I am planning to get an E-Max crown from a cosmetic dentist in Dubai, suggested by my cousin.

She has used the E-max crown to replace her stained teeth and said it was great!

I use Crest 3D Gentle Routine strips. I used to use the regular Crest strips, but like PP said they do make your teeth sensitive for a while after use. I’ve found that the Gentle Routine ones don’t do that.
