Your natural eyelashes or false eyelashes?

Victorian Bride, on February 19, 2019 at 1:35 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 183
Hi everyone! Today is NATIONAL LASH DAY ( Really! Lol!) and I thought this would be an appropriate topic. My lashes are very short and pale, so I'm wearing false eyelashes, a tad on the dramatic side, for my big day in brown. What about you?

Just bought some false eyelashes to try out! I've never worn them before so I need to see if they are comfortable and look good.

Ok, I have about 6 pair I bought off Amazon. Different styles. I can't put them on!! Ha! Ha! I never get them in the right spot. I look ridiculous. I need to ask my make-up artist for a trick. They look great when applied by another person. Good luck!!

I had MUA add them for $10. So worth it! She trimmed them so they looked natural. I just wanted to ensure my eyes stood out a bit more on my big day. Smiley love

I’m doing falsies too. I recently tried the magnetic lashes and I love them. The nice thing about falsies is if they are too dramatic you can always trim them down.

I’ve also tried the prescription where you can grow your lashes. It takes about 6 to 12 months to see improvement the false lashes are cheaper. I didn’t use the Latisse, there is a better one ( all of these are glacoma meds) called Travaprost or Tratavan, that’s the best.

Whatever you do, don’t get lash extensions. I was warned twice not to do it by both my doctor and make up artist. The gist is it stresses out the cuticle of the individual lash and they start to fall out, leaving you over time with bald eyes. Totally not worth the cost. You can buy almost a year’s supply of Travaprost for the cost of one lash extension session.

I agree. I want my eyes to stand out, too. False eyelashes are included in my package.

Definitely going to go with false eyelashes. I’ve worn them a couple of times and never had an issue. But I need to have someone put them on for me. I am not capable haha

I'm not a fan of lash extensions (I touch them too much) so I'm doing fake lashes for my wedding day! Very dramatic ones, I'm a HUGE lash person!

My lashes are short and straight and I haven't been able to find a mascara (even waterproof) that won't smudge on me. I'm getting lash extensions for the wedding and then I can also have them on for our honeymoon!

I feel like I am the odd one out hahaha but I really don’t want to do false lashes. I know it would probably look better with them but I am not a huge makeup person as is, and I don’t think I’d feel myself in them. I have pretty long eyelashes as is (I’m lucky!) so I think I’ll just wear mascara and leave it at that

Be careful with any of the eyelash serums as they can disolor the iris of your eyes, turning them brown, and it can be permanent. So they're not always ideal for people with blue or green eyes.

I have pretty long natural lashes, but will probably add some falsies for volume on the big day.

I have fairly long natural lashes and so I thought I'd just do the more natural look for the wedding. However, during my make-up trial the artist put lashes on me and OH MY WORD do they make such a difference. I didn't even do crazy big ones! I will definitely be doing them as will my bridesmaids (by their own choosing, totally made it optional) and my mom because she saw what a dramatic difference they made! They just really made me feel like it was a special day.

I think it depends on how your eyelashes are. Mine are almost nonexistent, so I’ll wear faux eyelashes. In my case, they’re dark brown, which is pretty dramatic because my lashes are kind of pale. However, there’s people that are blessed with natural long and gorgeous eyelashes that probably don’t need the fake ones.
