Home to Fenway Park, Sam Adams Brewery, and the best lobster rolls you’ll ever taste, a Boston bachelor party checks off just about every box on the list. This iconic city steeped in history offers visitors a chance to explore both the old and the new, with 23 unique neighborhoods spread across 90 square miles. From waterfront views at the Boston Harbor to historic landmarks of the American Revolution to hundred-year-old taverns sprinkled throughout the city, there are endless ways to make your guys’ weekend one to remember.

Skip the time-consuming research and consider this your playbook to a Boston bachelor party your whole crew can get behind.

What to Do

Whether this is your first visit to Beantown or you call the city home, uncovering a bit of history is always a great way to spend a day. First-timers should definitely consider embarking on the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail, which covers 16 historic sites of the American Revolution. Not only will you hit all the major tourist sites in one easy swoop, but you’ll get an incredible walking tour through the oldest parts of the city.

While you’re walking the Freedom Trail, make a stop at Beantown Pub directly across from the burial site of Sam Adams, the Granary Burying Ground. As the joke goes, it’s the only place in the world where you can drink a cold Sam Adams while you stare at a cold Sam Adams.

If you finish the 2.5 mile walk you’ll land in the neighborhood of Charlestown, which you might recognize from Ben Affleck’s 2010 movie, The Town. While in the neighborhood, step inside the USS Constitution—the oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat—for a quick tour.  After that, walk over to the legendary Warren Tavern to enjoy a pint in this 1780’s watering hole that once served patrons like George Washington and Paul Revere.

It’s unthinkable to visit Boston and not make a stop at Fenway Park. If your Boston bachelor party happens to land during baseball season, snag tickets to a Sox game and book a guided tour of the ballpark while you’re at it. Tours can be booked any time of year, so don’t stress if you visit in the off-season.

Impress the beer-enthusiasts on your trip with a visit to the Sam Adams Brewery in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood. They offer brewery tours Monday through Saturday and their Tap Room is the perfect place to taste test a flight of their rotating selections. Another craft beer hotspot, Trillium Brewing Company’s flagship location in Fort Point is home to some of Boston’s most sought-after brews.

A city set right on the water, Boston knows how to impress with a range of activities for your bachelor group. Book a canoe or kayak excursion down the Charles River or spend a day sailing on the harbor whether you’re a beginner or a pro.

Where to Eat

Boston’s South End neighborhood is known for its top-notch restaurant scene, including a selection of gastropubs like The Gallows. Their menu ranges from burgers to pork ribs to specialty poutines, not to mention weekend brunch that’s well worth a reservation. Another South End favorite, Five Horses Tavern will satisfy any group with their modern American eats and 40 rotating drafts.

Just a short walk from Fenway Park, you’ll find Citizen Public House which takes pub food to a whole new level. Book their famous Family Style Pig Roast and enjoy sampling from their extensive whiskey list.

Across the river in Cambridge, Lord Hobo is a craft beer go-to for any Boston bachelor party. Along with great drinks, you’ll dine on entrees like fried chicken, steak frites, and duck breast.

Where to Stay

If accommodations right on the Boston Harbor sound appealing, check out the Boston Marriott Long Wharf. Set in the heart of the city, you’ll be a short walk to the Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market area, which become a lively bar hopping scene once the sun goes down.

You might know Copley Square as the finish line location for the Boston Marathon and this bustling area makes a great spot to call home base. At the Westin Copley Place, you’ll be walking distance to so many city sites, plus have easy access to Boston’s subway system known as the T.

For something a little more unique, The Verb definitely fits the bill. Set just around the corner from Fenway Park, this music-inspired boutique hotel defines “hipster cool” and even features an outdoor heated pool and sundeck.
