11 Oct, 2019The story of our wedding
Our wedding day was exactly what we had been hoping and dreaming for. We combined elements from a more modern wedding with elements of ancient handfasting traditions. The seasons blended perfectly for our day - some remnants of snow alongside fall colors and blue skies. Blayne and I met our Junior year in high school in Henderson, Nv. 2009. He had always been that constant factor in my life - unwavering. He was always my closest friend - and finally in 2015 - we started dating. Against all odds, including moving states apart, we were married 10 years later. Rather than a unity candle during our ceremony, we chose a unity tree with a white oak tree seedling. The oak represents many of the qualities we value and want to foster and grow within our lives together. We chose the lantern as a main theme for its representation of there always being and having a light to guide you on your journey. A light in the dark when times get rough. All of our vendors - most of which I found here on Wedding Wire - were so fantastic! And I wouldn't have even know about them if I hadn't found them in here.
