The story of our wedding
Our wedding took place at the Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House in Alexandria, VA on a perfect Saturday. Due to the wildfires in Canada, we were so concerned about the smoke but by the time Saturday rolled around, it was perfectly clear and sunny. The ceremony took place under two conjoining crepe myrtle trees, where there was a chuppah and an aisle lined with ferns and flowers. The bouquets were full of lush greenery and beautiful, big white blooms. The bride wore a lace ballgown from Pronovias and changed into a silk sheath gown from Jenny Yoo for the reception. The bridesmaids wore outfits of their choosing in various shades of blue while the Groom & groomsmen wore deep navy blue tuxedos.
The guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with signature cocktails, mac and cheese bites, mini tacos, and gazpacho shots. A reception followed with a family-style dinner, lots of dancing, and heartfelt toasts. Dessert included chipwiches with vanilla ice cream and mini apple pies. At the end of the night, the bride and groom left in a 1990 Vintage Land Rover while the guests looked on with bubbles and smiles galore.
