29 Sep, 2018The story of our wedding
Our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be! It took place at the Winterbourne Inn on St. John's River. The ceremony was outside overlooking the water on a beautiful day and the reception was held indoors in the historic inn. What I loved most about our wedding was all of the special little touches that made it uniquely ours. Sadly, I've lost my parents, my uncle, and my grandfather, so my groom and our wedding planner surprised me with these beautiful little picture charms that were placed into my bouquet so that they would be there with me as I walked down the aisle. It was also important to me to pay homage to them during the wedding, so seats were reserved for each of them with an 8x10 photo frame adorning each of the empty chairs. We married on our 10th anniversary so, instead of numbering our tables 1-10, they were numbered after the 10 years we'd been together - each table number included a picture of us together from that particular year. We're very into photography, so more pictures adorned a ribbon that hung behind our sweetheart table.Unfortunately, I have no pictures of it, but those pictures, the ring bearer's sign, and all of our bouquets doubled as decorations during the reception. I don't know how she did it, but the wedding planner set up a shelf with all of these things on display so that wedding guests could take a closer look.
