14 Oct, 2019The story of our wedding
Corey and I have known each other since we were 16-years-old. When we became young adults, we became best friends and eventually fell in love with each other. Years prior to the proposal, we had gone to Pennsylvania to do music for this gig we had through a mutual friend. During that time, we were just friends but, that weekend, we ended up sharing this really special moment on the back porch of this cabin that basically was the spark we both needed. Three years later, we returned for the same gig but with our band. When we arrived, the back porch was covered in lights and candles and we stood there and reminisced about that sweet moment all those years ago. Then he dropped to a knee, told me there was no gig, and our closest friends came out and surrounded us and he asked me to marry him. We got married 9 months later at an old restored glass factory by the Brooklyn Bridge called 26 Bridge. It was such a romantic venue and on the day of everything was just perfect. There were flowers and candles everywhere and was so perfectly lit by them. We had 250 guests, so it was a very large wedding, but it still felt so intimate. The theme was music and romance and our color scheme was burgundy, navy blue, and ivory with accents of gold. We danced and ate great food. He is Haitian and I am Puerto Rican and Colombian, so the wedding was very full of flavor and dancing and fun. The best moment of that day for me was coming in during the ceremony. At that point, I just wanted to marry him and have all the stress be gone. When I entered, everyone gasped and it felt like time stood still. When I turned and finally saw him, I broke down and just started crying. It was the nest moment of my life seeing him there so in love with me.

You are the man who has surpassed and exceeded my dreams." but during that pause, he reacted and everyone started laughing and it was such a great moment. Our videographers got it too and it's so much fun to revisit and watch again.
In the end, it was the best day of my life. We had to much fun and felt so much love and support from our people.
