14 Sep, 2019The story of our wedding
Our wedding day was held on September 14th, 2019 in my cousin’s backyard in Eden, NY. As if things weren’t stressful enough leading up to the wedding day, the night before was windy and rainy. Luckily, we were able to get the outdoor rehearsal out of the way before the wind and rain moved in. Once the storm began, we moved the rehearsal dinner into the tent which almost blew away, thanks to 50 plus mph winds. The next morning, we arrived to find a foot of water around the tent, we placed mulch down and the ground thankfully dried up before the guests arrived.
The bridesmaids and I were getting ready in my cousin’s house while the groom and groomsmen were getting ready at his parents up the street. We knew the groomsmen were having a good old time because you could hear them doing burn outs for almost an hour.
We did a “first look” but my husband was blindfolded the entire time! I am so thankful he didn’t see me until I walked down the aisle, because he teared up when he saw me. His reaction was one of my favorite moments of the day! The outdoor ceremony was PACKED, most of the guests we invited made it to the ceremony… 320 of them! My husband and I wrote our own vows and one of our dear friends married us. The ceremony was under two willow trees covered in twinkling lights with a pond in the background. The bridal party walked out to the song Nathan Sykes - Over and Over Again ft. Ariana Grande, each bridesmaid walked out with a groomsman. I had two maids of honor; both were my sisters. One walked out with the flower girl and ring bearer because we knew they wouldn’t walk out by themselves and the best man walked my mom down the aisle. I walked out from a path in the woods, to the song Haley Reinhart - Can't Help Falling in Love.

Our wedding theme was industrial moody (most of the décor we made ourselves) and our colors were black, dark red and silver. There were red roses everywhere, some skull planters/décor, motorcycle chain votive candle holders, cast iron pipe candelabras, an 8-tier piston cupcake holder; we also built an 8 ft bar and a matching card box with an engine cover to slide the cards through. I made chandeliers out of wreath wire and twinkling lights. My aunt, who did our flowers, covered them in greenery; which included willow branches and eucalyptus leaves; they were truly breathtaking and completely transformed the look of the tent. My husband, I, and our bridal party, parked our motorcycles outside the tent entrance and encouraged our guest to bring their motorcycles and classic cars. Instead of having our guests sign a book we had them sign motorcycle tanks which will be displayed in our home. Our fur child, a Dalmatian named Oslo, was able to join us for a few pictures after the ceremony. After dinner my husband and I bartended instead of going table to table, it was a great and unique way to thank our guests for coming! After the dances and cake cutting the party really began. The dance floor was packed the entire night! We had fireworks, a chocolate fountain, taco-in-a-bag, homemade pudding and Jell-O shots, and a motorcycle burnout… on the dance floor… courtesy of my husband! The party carried on until 2am, where we ended the night with leftover desserts and fun chats with the remaining guests. The day could not have gone better, it was truly the BEST DAY EVER and I am so happy to have married the love of my life!
