7 Aug, 2021The story of our wedding
When a simple acknowledgement takes place... a love story begins. This is how Ashley and Danny came to be. It started back in 2010 with a simple online connection and from then on, that is when their whirlwind romance began. Ashley and Danny started dating in December of 2010 and since then they have shared so many adventures together.
10 years later and doing everything backwards, from having 2 amazing kids and purchasing a beautiful home together, Danny finally popped the question on July of 2019 on their family cruise trip ---and Ashley said YES!!!
Now, after a decade together, we are so happy we are officially married.
We got married on a boat, Sunquest Cruises- Solaris on August 07, 2021 in Miramar Beach, FL and everything about that day was absolutely perfect. We had a wedding planner and coordinator which helped make the wedding planning process as non stressful as can be. Sunquest has different packages and allows you to plenty of time to pay down your balance before your big day. The team from Sunquest was very responsive and you could tell that they knew what they were doing because we sure did have our DREAM WEDDING and the ceremony was officiated by the captain. From the flowers, to the table settings for the reception and definitely the ceremony set up took our breaths away. We decided to do a simple 3 tiered cake which we ordered from Publix and we had the Sunquest florist add flowers to it. The cake was delicious and definitely was reasonably priced. We had hors d'oeuvre (southern crab bites, stuffed mushrooms, and filet mignon crostini's) being served during cocktail hour and then a buffet style setup for dinner. The food was absolutely exceptional. A few things that set our wedding apart from others, is that my dad went on stage and serenaded us with a love song with our native language. No one was expecting it and it definitely came to a surprise to all our family and friends. With that being said, the in house DJ did a great job with mixing in several of our traditional music with songs to get the crowd going. We kicked off the dance floor by performing our traditional Laotian dance.

The reception was on the top deck of The Solaris boat, so the view at night was spectacular. We had a navy theme so the groomsmen's and bridesmaids wore navy suits and dresses however the groom wore a stunning lighter blue with floral prints on the inside that helped him stand apart. We ended the night with our friends and family sending us off under an arch of sparklers.
Since the Sunquest team was so hands on and helpful with everything, the only DIY that I wanted to take on was I making the bridesmaids bouquets' with Sola wood flowers which I really enjoyed doing. The girls all ended up taking their bouquet's home and using them as decor.
We used Kapturly who found us a photographer and videographer within the FL region to capture our big day. Daniel and Duvan showed up early to make sure they didn't miss any special moments. They both did an amazing job capturing our big day!
We booked an AIRBNB close to the venue so we were able to save money and use that as the main destination for rehearsal dinner and the getting ready for the wedding day.
Our wedding was definitely everything we could have imagined. We are so thankful for the Sunquest team so if anyone is looking for an all inclusive wedding venue, please check them out! We promise you it'll take a lot of the stress away!
