15 Feb, 2020The story of our wedding
Eden and I consider our wedding to have been heaven sent and meant to be especially since we were able to book the beautiful Marriott Marquis ballroom after our original venue canceled, and since our wedding was held two weeks before the coronavirus hit the US hard.
Our amazing multicultural wedding was held the day right after Valentine’s Day so love was definitely in the air. The morning of, as my bridesmaids and I started getting dressed and putting on our make-up and priming our hair I was continuously asked "how do you feel? Are you getting nervous?" and my answer was no because I had no reason to feel nervous, I knew that I was marrying the love of my life and Eden said feft the exact same way.
Everything about our wedding was perfect and Eden and I felt adamant that we include many of our cultural traditions like Jumping the Broom for me, and traditional clothing, food, and songs that represent his Ethiopian culture. After we said our I do’s and the drinks start flowing we knew it was officially party time. The dance floor was packed and full of smiles, laughs, hugs, new family, and most of all love. I would say the highlights of our wedding was my father walking me down the aisle and seeing my future husband looking handsome waiting for me at the end of the aisle, and our first dance which was to the Prince song “Adore You”. At that time it felt as though no one else was in the room but him and I and it was just perfect.
