The story of our wedding

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we got married on our ten year anniversary. After high school, I became a full time college student and my husband served in the army reserves while working. In the ten years we were together, we were "semi-long distance" for seven. Thankfully we were typically only just a four hour car ride away from each other. When my husband completed thirteen months of military training, he proposed and I was completely surprised. We'd always known we would get married, but never discussed when an engagement would happen. I still had five years of college to complete so I knew our wedding was a long way off! Our engagement ended up lasting about six and a half years, but it was totally worth the wait. Getting extra time to refer to each other as fiances was a big bonus.

Boy, did our wedding day deliver. We got married outside on the most gorgeous fall day. The air was crisp and the skies were electric blue. Texas trees usually just turn brown in the fall, but the ones at our venue were exploding with bright oranges and yellows. It perfectly complimented our moody jewel tone theme.
