The story of our wedding

Kurt and I got married on the 11-year anniversary of the day we met. We chose the date at random, to later find out it was meant to be. We’ve been together for 9 years and live together with our dog, Echo, in Chicago.

Due to a few COVID-related incidents, we decided to shrink our wedding and host the reception in my parents' backyard rather than our originally intended venue. This was a hard decision (family only, no friends) but led to a less stressful experience for us. We also had everyone wear masks in the church and get tested before the wedding regardless of vaccination status. Our original guest list was 150, 85 RSVPed, and we ended up with 50 after our downsize.

Highlights of the day included reading each other’s letters, our couple pictures which we were able to take at our original venue (The Lynn Museum), and the moments big and small together and with our families.
