Mitchell and Abbey's Wedding in Lyons, Colorado

The story of our wedding

Mitchell and I got married at Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, CO on June 29, 2019. It was a beautiful day with bright blue skies and a few clouds to keep the heat at bay. During our ceremony, we exchanged our own heartfelt vows surrounded by our closest family and friends traveling from all across the country. One of my oldest friends gave a reading I put together of quotes from Gandhi, Mark Twain, and Carl Sagan. Although we couldn't hear it, or were too focused on each other, our guests say they heard two mountain lions roaring during the ceremony!

After a delicious buffet and our first dance to "Blue Sky" by the Allman Brothers Band, the music and dancing began. The band, The Candymakers, traveled from Iowa to perform for us, we used to go to their shows together while at the University of Iowa. About halfway through the dancing, my husband and his band got up on stage to perform two songs. It was a night we'll never forget as all of our favorite people packed the dance floor, stairs and balcony of Lionscrest Manor cheering us on.
