Phil and Kelly's Wedding in Islip, New York

The story of our wedding

Phil and I met at band camp 15 years ago. We reconnected three years ago, and had our first date on Fire Island. We immediately knew that we were meant to be together. Phil is an enigmatic soul; always going out of his way for those he love, and never afraid to be himself. When Phil proposed in Disney World on New Years Eve I was completely blown away. Here we were, in the happiest place on earth, ringing in a new year together and as the fireworks were on display Phil got down on one knee. It was magical, and the perfect way to start our new year.

When planning on our wedding, we knew we wanted to sew in Disney to the theme. Subtly was key, and so, we hand crafted our table numbers and names to be Disney related. For us, both educators, the joy that Disney brings to our students, and throughout our childhood is magical. We chose Timberpoint because we loved the architecture of the building. We knew we were going to have a large wedding, and Timberpoint was just our perfect venue. Our whole wedding was just perfect, but, our favorite moments from the day came from when we were getting ready and our first look. The amount of love that surrounded us in the early morning while we all got ready in my childhood home still surrounds us like a hug. Phil's reaction during our first look, and the amount of tears we shed together will forever remind us just how much we love each other.
